“Those whom God wishes to destroy, He first drives mad.” –Euripides
What is the mental state of the common American Liberal? They wish to be seen as compassionate and altruistic. Greedy and conspiratorial is more like it. And that glint in their eyes–pure madness.
As if you needed it, further proof of Liberal instability, here are some of their greatest hits.
Over at the Daily Show, Jon Stewart Leibowitz got called on the carpet when someone rightly pointed out it was President Truman, a Democrat, who ordered the atomic bombing of two Japanese cities. Jon was apoplectic. Proof of yet another massive hate crime perpetrated by the Democratic Party. They’re still trying to figure out how to explain that one away.
I watched a lib’s face crack when it was made clear to him that Hitler was a Socialist. A National Socialist. That’s what ‘Nazi’ stood for, after all. According to Jonah Goldberg in his magnificent book ‘Liberal Fascism,’ the German Socialists learned a thing or two about eugenics from the US Left.
And while Hitler turned Germany into a Socialist paradise, back in America Franklin D. Roosevelt was President when citizens were rounded up and sent to detention camps. It didn’t just happen on his watch, though. He ordered it. They must not have had a strong enough coalition, or just didn’t vote Democrat.
They demand apologies for past wrongs, events distant enough than none of us were even alive. Who have you oppressed? Nobody. Look back in time, and see who it was that enslaved his fellow man. Democrats. You may have heard their rewrite of history, how the two parties changed places over time. That’s just so they can appear squeaky-clean today, when the opposite is true. You owe no one an apology. They do.
What about the treatment of their own special interest groups. Who lives in ghettos, slums, and criminal havens? Sadly, they are Democrat voters. Where is the Murder Capital of America? Is it in Utah? Nope. Why, it’s President Obama’s own hometown. A sorry fact that in no way has anything to do with him.
Who spat on soldiers, and call them butchers, echoing Senator Kerry’s false statements? And yet they claim to support the troops. Yeah.
Who established the Ku Klux Klan? They weren’t voting Republican. Ask sitting Senator Robert Byrd. I think he was there. But somehow, the Congressional Black Caucus doesn’t mind at all.
Hollywood Leftists subject us to endless agonies in the name of entertainment. Pure iconoclasts, they delight in making everyone a fiend. Unless the subject really is one, then they get the revisionist treatment.
How many media anchors resigned or retired after being caught coloring the news a shade of blue?
Is it members of the Right now charged with voter fraud in the 08 Presidential election? No?
Which States are in dire financial peril at this time? Red States? No. That’s the fate of only the bluest of the Blue. When the donkey goes over the cliff, it’s always someone else that’s to blame though.
And how many Liberal politicians have traded their tailored suits for prison denim? Not enough of them, but more are on their way.
What constitutes torture? Are we not tortured by the treasonous acts of the Left, those who make laws legalizing murder. Ask yourself, why we are we permitted to demonstrate everywhere but near an abortion clinic? Who turned an abattoir into a temple?
I live in Oklahoma, a State that until recently was entirely domineered by Democrats. We’ve only had 3 Republican Governors, and the State House has its first Republican majority in 100 years. So, if there’s anything wrong here, past or present, who’s really to blame? Look into your own State’s history, and you’ll probably see a similar pattern emerge.
But, by far the most damning evidence of Liberal insanity is their voting record. Who put Obama, Biden, Pelosi, Reed, Frank, Dodd, Kennedy, Durbin, Feinstein, Byrd, Boxer, Waxman, Dorgan, Schumer, Hoyer, et al. into a position of power in the first place?
Madness.

Have you ever wondered why liberals are secularists

DONTREADONME (Diary) Thursday, May 21st at 1:59AM EST (link)I know this comment is about your diary but does your username have anything to do with molybdenum. Just curious, did a fair amount of work in atomic spectra of plasmas generated from surface spark discharges from alloy electrodes across dielectrics so when I saw your name molybdenum came to mind. Just curious.
You did a fair amount of work in what?
molybdanthan (Diary) Thursday, May 21st at 2:23AM EST (link)I’m going to have to look all that up… and I’m back. Your work sounds interesting. I take it you’re a chemist.
Molybdantha is the genus of a type of moth. I’m no zoologist, so I can’t tell you anything more than you’ll find on wiki.
molybdanthan explains my purpose here. It gets a little esoteric, but I’m looking for others of my kind.
Ahhh...
DONTREADONME (Diary) Thursday, May 21st at 2:35AM EST (link)nope, still do not get the moth correlation with hanging around here, but then again I tend to be slow when it comes to esoteric. Yes, I had to look esoteric up.
Oh, and I am not a chemist per se, but as a Laser and Optics guy; however, I do need to know about chemistry since chemical reactions can be involved in lasers and optical, physics and engineering.
BTW, the short answer to what I was trying to say above is, we basically use lightening discharged across a surface in a gas medium to excite atoms. You can see an example of spectroscopy when you look at the sun through a prism. If you look really closely at the rainbow you will notice black stripes, they are very thin and faint. These black lines correspond to absoprtion of light by atoms in the suns corona and from the absorption caused by the earths atmosphere. See a simple explanation.
A laser optics guy, eh?
molybdanthan (Diary) Thursday, May 21st at 2:52AM EST (link)So tell me, is it possible to make a Death Ray? Or a Predator suit?
And that’s interesting, your short answer. I did not know little bits of light are being absorbed along the way. What’s that process called?
An answer to the questions...
DONTREADONME (Diary) Thursday, May 21st at 7:28PM EST (link)One a death ray is possible; however we do not have the technology to do so. A Gamma ray laser is what you would need unfortunately I do not know of any optic we can use to feed the gamma rays back into the gain medium to date. An x ray laser has been seen in underground nuclear explosions but the process to produce it only happens once. See the Petawatt laser built by lawerence livermore national labortory https://www.llnl.gov/str/MPerry.html .
This laser was absolutely amazing; the limitation with these lasers is the non-linear effects caused by such intense laser radiation in a small area. You focus enough light in a short time pulse into a small area you can start breaking apart matter; however, this also causes a irregular change in the refractive index which also cause the beam to defocus. Anyway, I went a little long on that one.
Next, the predator suit is possible if you mean cloaking device, there are a couple ways that it can be done. One is surface plasmons and the other is to bend light around the object. The most reasonable way to cloak an object is prevent light to be visible from the object, i.e. go black. In the thermal spectrum of light, we are all sources of light in the visible spectrum of light we are all mostly reflectors, though red heads like myself tend to reflect much more light than my darker american counterparts. If you place a window in front of yourself in the thermal spectrum you will disappear behind a black pane of glass; however, in the visible you are visible through the window.
Lastly, light being absorbed is just absorption. If an atom absorbs a photon it is said to be excited until it returns back to its ground state. There are two ways the atom can return to the ground state ( and I am simplifying the process) spontaneous emission (incandescent lightbulb) or stimulated emission (laser). Now the incandescent lightbulb is a more perfect replecation of light that we see from the sun, a fluorescent bulb which the Zero and GE are forcing apon us give off more light in spectral bands, that is when you look at it through a prism you will not see a continous spectrum rather you will see lines; therefore, color replication in a lighted room will look poor in comparison to its broad spectrum illumination by the incandescent. BTW the sun acts more like a black body (incandescent) than a Mercury Fluorescent. BTW fluorescent bulbs give off UV radiation at 253.7 nm because of the stimulated mercury atom in the medium which is why those stupid bulbs have to be coated, oh and also you can not touch the bulb because your oils will absorb the UV radiation and cause the glass to breakdown faster due to the heat. That is why fluorescent bulbs are a stupid alternative to incandescents. Hope that answered your questions.
Very Interesting
molybdanthan (Diary) Thursday, May 21st at 7:48PM EST (link)Thanks. You did, and then some. Going to have to study some just to follow along.
So many technological advancements seem right around the corner. If we can only keep our wits about us, the future will be bright.
I’d like you to check out this site. They’re working on holography. One of my relatives started the company.
http://www.3dicon.net/
studied that as well...
DONTREADONME (Diary) Thursday, May 21st at 7:55PM EST (link)I think I may have seen your relatives business in Vegas this last week. Anyway, to visualize holography think of light reflecting off of a human in 3 dimension (humans have stereoscopic vision). Now imagine breaking the reflecting object up into thousands and thousands of little light emitters in 2D. The only thing we need to do is replicate the phase difference caused by the reflecting points on the object. That is light that reflects off of your face will travel farther from the nose than say the eyes. It is all about replicating those points in 2D to reflect light in a similar manner. It is quite interesting, actually did holographic film processing at SUNYIT.
Dontreadonme, you have my utmost respect.
Danielle Davis (ocleverone) (Diary) Thursday, May 21st at 6:39AM EST (link)My husband’s doctoral thesis was on laser optics through turbulence. Reading it made my eyes glaze over.
The only humble comments I could make were “Wow” and “do you need a comma there?”
To me, “consensus” seems to be the process of abandoning all beliefs, principles, values and policies. So it is something in which no one believes and to which no one objects … There are still people in my party who believe in “consensus” politics. I regard them as Quislings, as traitors … I mean it. — Margaret Thatcher
Studied the same thing...
DONTREADONME (Diary) Thursday, May 21st at 7:12PM EST (link)as your husband, ocleverone. One of the big problems we have with the Star wars weapons systems e.g. THEL and ABL-ATL is the turbulence of the atmosphere. The refractive index changes caused by the air pressure and the jet stream cause a focused beam at short distances to become quite the challenge as you travel farthur through the atmosphere. Your husband may have come up with the idea of tracking the stars in the background as a feedback mechanism to correct for air turbulence. An example of the problem your husband tried to work on is the twinkle of stars and have you ever noticed shimmer above the ground caused by heat, that is index of refraction changes in the atmosphere caused by warm atmosphere. See it is not as complicated as it seems; however, the solution to correct for this is.
We haven't started a RedState Personals section yet
civil truth (Diary) Thursday, May 21st at 1:10PM EST (link)…so finding a mate here may not be so easy. You’ll also not want to get too close to flames and incandescent light bulbs.
Anyway, welcome to RedState. If you hang around and don’t burn your wings, you will get to know the regulars here.
Curious profile you have. Are you a Latin scholar, or did your high school studies in Latin stick with you? Not too many schools these days teach Latin, which is a loss to our society
Who are the nobility of today that you disdain – the arrogant purveyors of liberal mythology/shibboleth that do not live as they proclaim? And how do you hope to bring them down – are you a hidden conservative at a liberal bastion in predation mode quietly biding your time? And what does this have to do with moths?

You're good.
molybdanthan (Diary) Thursday, May 21st at 2:29PM EST (link)Got all of that, didn’t you. Nice work.
I’m not here for the personals. I come to harass the Left. For what they have done, and will do, “I’m mad as Hell, and I’m not going to take this anymore!”
As for my scholarly pursuits, I’m no linguist. I’ve got some old John Birch Society books; Skousen’s ‘The Naked Communist,’ and Stormer’s ‘None Dare Call It Treason.’ What those authors warned us of in the 60s seems to finally be drawing near.
Throw in ‘The Tragedy of American Compassion,’ by Olasky, Goldberg’s ‘Liberal Fascism,’ ‘Slouching Towards Gomorrah,’ by Judge Bork, Sowell’s ‘The Vision of the Anointed,’ Trilling’s ‘Beyond Culture,’ ‘Reflections on the Revolution’ from Edmund Burke, to name my favorites. Those books helped me to see the Left for what it is-a word I can’t use without profanity.
I’d like to add my words to that compendium, but would be just as happy chiseling R.I.P. onto the Left’s tombstone.
About the moths, they fly at night, but are drawn to the light. Preyed upon by so many beasts in this world, they endure. Seemed apropos.
Stormer's book - that's a blast from the past
civil truth (Diary) Thursday, May 21st at 3:11PM EST (link)That was a hot book during the 1964 campaign. I was rather young, but I do remember it starting a family controversy, and in particular my mom (a solid Democrat) complaining how that book had affected my grandfather (her father). I remember reading some, but don’t recall the content, if I understood it them. I suspect the State Department was a prime villain, though. (Some things never change.)
You’ve got to add Whittaker Chambers “Witness” to your foundational books.

Thanks, I will. And I like your Rightly site.
molybdanthan (Diary) Thursday, May 21st at 3:51PM EST (link)That’s what I came here for. To share what I know, and to learn what I don’t.
I read Stormer’s book during the 2nd Babylonian Captivity, the Clinton years, around the time they were killing Ron Brown and Vince Foster. It scared the Hell out of me to see the same old tricks were new again.
The Left has worn many guises over the years, changing from nihilist, to anarchist, to communist, to socialist, to liberal, to progressive. They have nurtured an environment of ignorance, intolerance, suspicion, and dread.
Here’s a line from an old unionist worker song. I found it informative.
‘What matter if failure on failure
Crowd closely upon us and press?
When a hundred have bravely been beaten
The hundred and first wins success.’
They’re in this fight to win at all costs. And if they must lie, cheat, and steal to achieve this ‘success,’ so be it.
I take Saul Alinsky at his word when he said, “The third rule of the ethics of means and ends is that in war the end justifies almost any means.” I don’t know what he meant by ‘almost,’ for it seems they’ll stoop to any new low to advance the cause.

molybdanthan (Diary) Thursday, May 21st at 7:39PM EST (link)That’s not a bad idea. John Gibson’s been quite vocal on the subject of Conservatives making more Conservatives. We can’t only count on the Libs aborting their succeeding generations.
