Rachel Maddow makes the case for electing Republicans.

Remember, Rachel Maddow is supposed to be one of the *smart* ones over at MSNBC.

Maddow, on the Hoover Dam:

This is a project of national significance. We’ve got those projects on the menu right now. And we’ve got to figure out whether or not we are still a country that can think this big.

Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Interior Deanna Archuleta:

You will never see another federal dam.

So… that would be a ‘no,’ then.  At least, not under Democratic administrations.  Thanks for clarifying the problem for us, Rachel!

Moe Lane (crosspost)

PS: Where Rachel Maddow made her mistake was in forgetting (or simply not knowing) that in the 1930s the Hard Left was a lot more in favor of big-government industrial projects.  Which is why Woody Guthrie wrote a song glorifying the Grand Coulee Dam, which is yet another example of a project that would never, ever be allowed to get off of the ground these days.  It’s kind of entertaining to see this sort of thing, actually – and it works in the other direction, too.  Look up the Southern Agrarians sometime and you’ll see what I mean.

Maddow also praises the Post Office and Medicare for their efficiency.

Did you see the episode where Maddow praised the Post Office as an example of government efficiency? The Post Office–that always loses money?

Maddow also praises the Medicare system and other big entitlements. She cackles like a schoolgirl at Ryan’s plan to contain costs. Maddow does know that these programs are financially unsustainable in their current forms?

Maddow’s cheerleading for the Libyan War makes her am Obama bootlicker extraordinaire. She would never support a Libyan War launched by a Republican.

If she’s smart, she’s the dumbest smart person I’ve seen. I watch her show to know what liberals are thinking, and its completely screwy.

who if she was ever on fire I would take a few minutes to decide if I am willing to waste the piss to put the fire out. Humanity demands that I would, so I would have to take my only pleasure knowing she received the only accolades she is worthy of.
