Once the people found out he was not immortal, but human...still, knowing the jig was, he played his cards out to the end. We all have that line...well, true believers, anyway...known only to us, where we instinctively know there's no turning back. The true believers of the Left...there are may pirates and profiteers and criminals there as well...know they have passed that point of no return. Much of the inside fighting among Dem's is by these groups. Can't say who will win, but you are correct in pointing out...EVERY CHANCE YOU GET (repetition, repetition) that the suicidals are the default template of the Party.
