Senator Smalley is VERY UPSET.

He isn’t very happy with the administration right now:

Sen. Al Franken ripped into White House senior adviser David Axelrod this week during a tense, closed-door session with Senate Democrats.

Five sources who were in the room tell POLITICO that Franken criticized Axelrod for the administration’s failure to provide clarity or direction on health care and the other big bills it wants Congress to enact.

The sources said Franken was the most outspoken senator in the meeting, which followed President Barack Obama’s question-and-answer session with Senate Democrats at the Newseum on Wednesday. But they also said the Minnesotan wasn’t the only angry Democrat in the room.

Absent from the article was any indication that Axelrod particularly cares, probably because he doesn’t. Franken’s relevance to the administration began on July 7, 2009 – and it ended on January 19, 2010. That was the window that Congress had to pass their health care rationing bill, and Congress failed to exploit that window. From the administration’s point of view, Axelrod should be raking Franken over the coals, not the other way around; but the Senate gets tiresome when the executive branch does not show proper deference to its members. Which – to everyone’s embarrassment – these days includes Senator Franken.

So I suppose that they have to let him yap.

PS: One of the most exciting things about the thought of next year’s Senate makeup – from a Republican’s point of view – is the thought that Al Franken can only have a higher profile in the Senate.  Even if we don’t completely flip it.

Is this the best American can produce?

Imagine, Franken as a founding father. I would guess there would never had been the United States of America.

Marching orders from George III

Were he alive at the time I’m sure he would have been very cross with the viceroy or whichever royal agent was in charge of his locale and expressed in strong terms how disappointing it was that the King George III had not yet given instructions how to procede in putting down the rebellion.

“We sleep soundly in our beds only because rough men stand ready in the night to visit violence upon those who would do us harm Dear Leader Obama gives us leave to do so.”

I find this hilarious. This guy is so much less interested in policy than his publicity. He is an actor in the worst sense of the word.

We Should Be Flipping Candidates Right Now

Spartan4Life (Diary) Friday, February 5th at 11:44AM EST (link)

I live here in Arkansas and I can tell you with certainty that Blanche Lincoln’s only chance to win is if she switches parties and vows to breathe her last breath making sure Obama’s entire agenda is defeated.

Now, I know we don’t want all these Dem Congress Critters on our team but there has to be some we would take. Might be just what we need to cinch up majorities in both houses. I have to believe there are some Blue Dogs that might like the idea of being in a Republican majority without being under Princess Pelosi’s thumb and being forced to vote for a bunch of stuff they find utterly objectionable.

Does Blue Dog as R = RINO?

If they do not understand the principles of Conservative as NOUN yet, will they ever?

Franken challenged Axelrod, but not Obama.

jonreagan (Diary) Friday, February 5th at 12:47PM EST (link)

This interchange just shows how pathetic Franken is. During the Senators’ Q&A/coffee klatch with Obama, he was just as sweet as pie. The only Senator who came close to really taking on the incredible shrinking President was Blanche Lincoln, and that’s only because she sees her Senate seat slipping away come November.

So predictably, Franken is meek and mild with Obama, and then tries to prove his manhood by shouting at Axelrod. Totally gutless.

Obama wasn't there -

Teresa in Fort Worth, TX (Diary) Friday, February 5th at 6:52PM EST (link)

he took “staged” questions from Senators who are in trouble politically (none were allowed to be about the HCR Bill) – no one was allowed to ask questions other than the ones who were agreed to ahead of time. After the dog and pony show was over, Obama skeedaddled out of there and let everyone else duke it out over the HCR debacle.

That’s our dear Prez – voting “Present” again…..

Fasten your seatbelts, it’s going to be a bumpy ride…..

atone for its unpardonable transgressions to the rest of the states for sending this totally, completely and utterly useless waste of human flesh to the U.S. Senate.

but at least DiFi at least *occasionally* utters coherent thoughts and isn’t a total moral reprobate.

Al Franken is not only to the left of Bambi (and there ain’t much room to be able to pull that off) but he is an execrable, vile, obscene, walking piece of human excrement.

As stupid as this state is sometimes, I absolutely remain stunned that we sunk to the level of electing someone so totally bereft of anything resembling business or political acumen, and who is a foul-mouthed, obscene worthless human being as well.

And now that my blood pressure’s up…..

Give Franken time, 1st year bashfulness[ ?]

johnt Friday, February 5th at 2:18PM EST (link)

will wear off, then we’ll see the real Al, screaming obscenities every day, maybe a few physical assaults, thrown into a strait jacket by the Capitol police. Yeah, a guy the left can be proud of, as well as those sophisticates in Minnesota.
Funny how none of this trash’s actions make the msm news.

But he is, in a perverse manner, quite right here.

Of course, with any luck, we can look forward to Franken being continually upset as the administration does not shift course, and continues to be little more than hot air and bluster.

Standard-bearer for grouchy curmudgeonry since, oh, 1975 or so.

Is Franken the guy Glenn Beck teased us about?

barrypopik (Diary) Saturday, February 6th at 11:23PM EST (link)

On Friday’s show, Glenn Beck hinted that he’s working with someone Beck completely opposes on policy grounds. However, this person has agreed to fight corruption with Beck.

It might be Franken, who’s no shrinking violet.

Beck will tell us in a month or two.
