(H/T: @BillSTL) Nice to know that I’m not the only one who noticed this:
This is about the time Barack Obama becomes bored with his job.
He’s in his second year as president, and he’s discovered that even with all the powers of office, he can’t do everything he wants to do, like remake America. Doing stuff is hard. In the past, prosaic work has held little appeal for Obama, and it’s prompted him to think about moving on.
Quick timeline to illustrate his problem (and it is one, for him):
- 1996: Elected Illinois state senator
- 2000: Ran for US House of Representatives (defeated in primary)
- 2002: Began running for US Senate
- 2004: Elected US Senator
- 2006: Began running for President
- 2008: Elected President
Twelve years from state legislator to President may indeed be ‘meteoric;’ it is also ‘impatient,’ which is an assessment that the President himself might sign off on. More from York’s article:
At a Jan. 17 Martin Luther King Day event at Washington’s Vermont Avenue Baptist Church, Obama brought up the fact that many people see him as almost preternaturally calm. “I have a confession to make,” Obama said. “There are times I’m not so calm … when progress seems too slow … when it feels like all these efforts are for naught, and change is so painfully slow in coming, and I have to confront my own doubts.”
Obama said it to be inspirational, but the fact is, in the past, that’s when he looked for a new job.
The good news is that the President’s interest in his job might rekindle if he’s given more of a challenge (if only for the novelty value). Having to face a Republican House and Senate next year would give him all the mental stimulation and focus that a person could want; and far be it from the GOP to deny the President what he truly, truly needs.
Because we’re givers that way.

Why do you think he's such a fan of the Soros "one world" philosophy?
kyoufuu (Diary) Friday, January 29th at 10:37AM EST (link)Clearly his next goal is to be voted President of Earth. The question is will he wait until he’s done serving his one “really good term” before vying for the position?

I have commented on this time line of boredom that this dude seems a willing victim of before.
USNJIMRET (Diary) Friday, January 29th at 11:33AM EST (link)Hadn’t done the specific time list, thanks for that-it will come in handy to have available, but ‘knew’ that his job attention span is unusually short for a liberal politician. Particularly so for a successful liberal politician!! Think of Ted Kennedy, John F’n Kerry, Barney Frank, Dodd, Schummer, Rangel, lengthy list of far left dudes who have literally made a life of their presence in the Congress.
One thing that pops into my mind when I think of how too much success, to fast in life, leaves one in what I first heard of after Neil Armstrong became the First Man on the Moon. An achievement that was all but unimaginable when he, Armstrong, was born. And something that will never be supplanted in the history of mankind!
And I heard some people asking the, seemingly at the time, strange question of what motivation would Armstrong have to achieve next?
He was the First Man on the Moon!
Everything else, ANYTHING else, that he might achieve in his lifetime would pale to insignificance by comparison.
Much the same for Nobama.
What can he do next that will compare to the current job?
He already has so many ‘records’ that there is nothing left to go after. At least not anything that his kind of type “A” personality would see as worthwhile.
Not feeling sorry for the guy, not one bit.
In fact it is entirely possible that his probable boredom with the job, especially if it begins to really look like he won’t get a second term, could mean he turns his attention to what? Making his one term legacy a ‘record of records’?
Seeking the notoriety of ‘getting’ things for his people that were impossible before him?
Things like reparations for sins, real or imagined or grossly inflated?
Actually, I don’t think I want to consider the potential ‘interests’ that might get the One’s short attention span interest should be become even more a ‘victim’ of his own work history.
Because whatever it/they might be, it would certainly NOT be good for the Nation.
He can get his golf handicap into the plus range
Beaglescout (Diary) Friday, January 29th at 12:09PM EST (link)And try to join the Champions tour in three years! I am all in favor of Obama turning his attention from the US to Augusta National or Pine Valley or Congressional and keeping it there. Permanently.

We'll give him a chance to move on in 3 yrs.
Common_Cents (Diary) Friday, January 29th at 12:22PM EST (link)He probably is jealous of Bill Clinton, traveling around the globe, making speeches, banking $100million, and most importantly, no accountability and not responsible for anything. Just words man.

Maybe he has ADHD....

If he is truly left empty and unfulfilled, perhaps he’s missing something in his life that the Church Of Liberalism just can’t provide. When you fill your mind with Communism, Black Liberation Theology and Liberalism you’re not going to have a whole heart. These systems give you no hope for the future, just anger, bitterness and emptiness. Not good qualities for THE defacto leader of the free world.
Atheism isn’t any better. I’ve had atheist friends, and not a one of them has ever been happy, not at least long term. Cynical, negative and nihilistic. I had to give up and separate myself from them finally.
I’m not going to perpetuate conspiracy about O being a secret Muslim sleeper agent. Suffice it to say, Islam isn’t exactly a life affirming faith ether.
I hope Obama can find some peace and salvation, because the rest of us are having to live with him and his decisions. Unfortunately, I think he’s too narcissistic and arrogant to ever admit that HE is the problem. ‘m sure his view is that everyone else needs to change to suit HIM. I thought the same thing-when I was 13. THE SOTU/STFU only reinforced my views. God help us all.
"I'd rather be an awesome one termer than...
gracie (Diary) Friday, January 29th at 2:08PM EST (link)a mediocre two termer.” Seems like he is already signaling his boredom with learning the job. Could be fear of getting re-elected but I think boredom. Even little kids comment, “does he ever work?’
His lack of engagement and/or determination to risk all for his agenda regardless of the price causes wonder what the grand scheme is. My fear is that he was a puppet all along (Soros?) just here to do as much damage as possible. He will always have his first African American President status and his speaking engagements.
Beyond that does he not want to lead the United Nations?
The Laziest President Ever?
Hammer2008 (Diary) Friday, January 29th at 3:10PM EST (link)Regardless of noted historian Michael Beschloss’ quip that Obama was probably “the smartest president ever” on Imus following his election, as I drove ’round still seething after our POTUS’ SOTUS, I too have come to the conclusion Moe is pointing us to here.
President Obama is not simply getting bored. I do declare (cue Foghorn Leghorn voice), President Obama is perhaps The Laziest President Ever.
Now there’s a mantra we all can get on board with and chant to the high heavens for the next 30 months.
(Yes, only 30 months folks, then it’s the Dems’ convention time
)
… Here’s to hoping Hillary follows both Elizabeth’s Edwards and younger Ted Kennedy’s cue and split from Bill while challenging Obama for the 2012 nomination)

Comrade Obama has never actually done a day's work
Achance (Diary) Friday, January 29th at 3:26PM EST (link)in his life. If you have half a brain, you get through college by just going to college; the only way you fail is to just stop showing up. Even in the Ivy League, if they let you in, especially as an AA admission, they get you out. None of his other jobs have been real jobs. The Presidency doesn’t have to be a real job ever, but you have to have a strong enough ego to just let other people do the work; Comrade Obama’s ego is too delicate for him to take the risk of somebody else getting the credit for anything.

il Duce, il Duce Obama!
Hammer2008 (Diary) Friday, January 29th at 3:40PM EST (link)The Latin in me would prefer il Dux (dü-(?)ch? ; but given the Italian annunciation, it hints directly at POTUS’ fascist world view). I never quite bought off on the “comrade” notion, not that Marx and ilk wouldn’t be more proud of a U.S. president, but the more his few actions and rainfall verbosity, he himself is making me that believer. {*note, some Vets and I did rounds on Facebook just about this alone).
Via Wiki (*I dispute even remotely the far-right or right on the noted political spectrum, however):
-WIKIPEDIA-
Fascism, pronounced /?fæ??z?m/, is a political ideology that seeks to combine radical and authoritarian nationalism with a corporatist economic system, and which is usually considered to be on the far right of the traditional left-right political spectrum.
Fascists advocate the creation of a single-party state, with the belief that the majority is unsuited to govern itself through democracy and by reaffirming the benefits of inequality. Fascist governments forbid and suppress openness and opposition to the fascist state and the fascist movement. Fascism opposes class conflict, blames capitalism and liberal democracies for its creation and communists for exploiting the concept. Fascism fashioned itself as the “complete opposite of Marxian socialism” by rejecting the economic and material conception of history, the fundamental belief of fascism being that human beings are motivated by glory and heroism rather than economic motives, in contrast to the worldview of capitalism and socialism.

piratecoastbucs Friday, January 29th at 3:47PM EST (link)The only thing left is to be a global decision maker.
He has stated clearly that he wants a national police force that is just as strong and capable as the military.
He is infatuated with America dissolving it’s sovereignty and salivates at the idea of being assimilated into the self-deprecating, socialistic euro-cracy.
Tyrants do not like to give up power. They will do everything possible to retain it.
He clearly studied the Constitution to ‘know thy enemy’.
As egotistical and self-involved as this tool is, he is very, VERY, capable of doing something with dire consequences for either his side or ours. It seems more and more inevitable.
