As in, why is the Democratic party blatantly breaking numerous campaign promises about openness and transparency by hiding the final negotiations over the health care rationing bill?
Easy. Because you let them.

PS: Elections have consequences, Jack Cafferty. Don’t even pretend to be outraged on my behalf: I knew that this was going to happen all along, which is why I voted for the other guy.

antisocial (Diary) Friday, January 8th at 12:04AM EST (link)Jack Cafferty was routinely bashing Republicans back when Obama was a star. Now that he is being spanked in the polls, these folks are playing betrayed. Sadly We told you so / You were warned is missing from your post. That PS makes up for those missing standard statements a little bit.

Cafferty, like all libs, is a hypocrite.
conservativemusician Friday, January 8th at 12:10AM EST (link)Not impressed by his diatribe here. You’re right Moe. The libs were warned, but they were too enamored with Obama to listen to reason and now they are griping that he’s a liar. Well boo friggin’ hoo.
How's that phrase go...?

Obama has "lost" Cafferty?
Michael M. Keohane (Diary) Friday, January 8th at 12:28AM EST (link)Reminds me of when Johnson “lost” Cronkite. The problem with Cafferty and other commentators is why did they fail to ask the tough questions and seek out the facts before the elections. Like Cronkite and the other commentators in 1964, Cafferty and friends went into the tank for Obama and company. Now, they are begining to regret their performance. Too late, Jack!
Do not classify the words or deeds of your opponents as being hatefull, malicious or criminal in nature if they can also be easily characterized as simple ignorance or gross stupidity. Anon.
Then again...
merryj1 Friday, January 8th at 1:02AM EST (link)As Longwalker’s ‘signature line’ says, “Do not classify… if they can also be characterized as simple ignorance or gross stupidity” (Anonymous).
As I see it, Cafferty (and a few-but-growing number of others) may have been a little slow on the up-take, but that the old (non-florescent) light bulb is finally starting to blink “On” for them is a good thing. I say, give them a break.
no breaks
bsquared Friday, January 8th at 1:13AM EST (link)for bastards who rip on Sarah P like he did. All these media freaks had to do was read his first book to know what was coming, instead all they’ve done is deny, lie, and counter-accuse FOR him/them…nope…no breaks.

Agree with you bsquared
chbroussard (Diary) Monday, January 11th at 12:07AM EST (link)The elite media, in addition to anyone who voted for Obama, get no break from me either. All people had to do was listen to what Obama said during the campaign and look at the people he surrounded himself with to know that this guy was a disaster. It was right there in front of them. All of a sudden they’re are surprised?? They were played like Charlie Daniels’ fiddle and should be mad at themselves for falling for such a line of bull.
I've got no complaints when
minister_of_war Friday, January 8th at 3:11AM EST (link)I hear super lib Dems complain about Obama.
OBAMA IS A LIER!!!
And even though it is taking a long time for the media to realize it, finally they are getting the point. Obama’s own word indict him. He said the process would be open, transparent & on C-SPAN. Oh, he must have mispoken. 8 TIMES!
Good for Cafferty! Yes, I despise Cafferty. But as the old saying goes, even a broken clock is right twice a day.
So, now Cafferty can be right another 12,000 times in a row to make up for all the times he was wrong.
Oops! I meant to say that...

adamwatkins (Diary) Sunday, January 10th at 11:41PM EST (link)Jack sees the light and we berate him for it? It’s never too late to “come to Jesus,” so to speak. Jack eloquently spoke my mind, and I’m as conservative as Ivory is pure (98.44% or so). We need to encourage this sort of thing, not blast him because he said some things we disagreed with in the past. RNC Chair Michael Steele is coming around nicely, too, and we need to encourage that and welcome it with open arms and not say things that encourage people to hunker down in their wrong positions. We want the media and the Republican party to see it from our perspective, and they are starting to, and we need to get out of the persecuted reflexive mindset and start applauding this stuff. And another thing, can we stop “despising” and “hating” people and keep it to the issues. I didn’t like it when the libs did it to Bush, so can we all just keep it to the issues and show the liberals how we can be both respectful AND RIGHT!

If a public spokesman (govt, news, whatever) truly sees the light, is he not in some way obligated to confess his previous errors rather than just espousing his new-found wisdom?
I see your point
adamwatkins (Diary) Monday, January 11th at 3:42AM EST (link)Well this isn’t religion so I don’t know if a confession of sin is necessary here, but if I’m Jack, and I expected hope and change and for Obama to keep his promises, and now I see that he isn’t, I’m going to call him out on it and the error I’d be professing is in believing that he would be different from the other politicians in the first place. Jack should have made that clear, I agree with you.

adamwatkins (Diary) Monday, January 11th at 3:49AM EST (link)I was naive to think that the liberal bloggers had a monopoly on petty, sarcastic posts. I have much to learn and much to discuss. kyle8 (Diary) Monday, January 11th at 6:16AM EST (link)Most of us are so disgusted by the way the left has acted for the last ten years there is not going to be any “hail fellow well met” attitude.
They have revealed themselves to be ignorant, petty, and truly horrible people. Sure that might not describe all but it sure describes the majority.
Frankly I think we ought to slam them every chance we get and rub their noses in it. There are a few of the younger ones who will eventually change and see how destructive their ideology is. But it won’t be any of the mendacious asses who have gained power and prestige from being left wing stooges.

Sorry ... the "bipartisan" "Marquis of Queensbury" "tete-a-tete" raised pinky approach ...
Martin Knight (Diary) Monday, January 11th at 7:21AM EST (link)… didn’t work.
Remember George W. Bush and “New Tone”? Was there any reciprocity from the other side or appreciation from the voters that he never hit back or even just defended himself from his partisan opponents? No. Not only did he get assailed on a hourly basis, his polls crashed and the Democrats got rewarded for it with House, Senate and the White House.
Remember John McCain standing in front of a crowd of Republicans four days to Election Day assuring them that Obama would make a “fine President”? The so-called “moderates” and “Miss Manners” voters like you smiled their bovine smiles and still went for Obama anyway.
PS: Echoing the Left-Wing debating tactic of relabeling simple differences of opinion “hate” is not going to earn you much respect here. Howard Dean began his tenure as DNC Chairman with the declaration; “I hate Republicans and everything Republicans stand for!” Where the heck were you then?
Screw the liberals who see the light.

Encouraging mentally deficient suicide?
adamwatkins (Diary) Monday, January 11th at 3:55AM EST (link)Calling the other side idiots for believing the way they do is not giving them enough credit for how dangerous their views can be for our country. There are many well-educated geniuses who hold harmful liberal views. These are not idiots. Nor do I want them to commit hari-kari. I do not wish anyone a painful death, nor am I going to cheerfully write off Harvard Law Review editors as idiots. I am going to engage them on the issues because every time we do that, we conservatives WIN. Advancing the conservative agenda is the cake; winning the hearts and minds of those who formerly disagreed with us is the icing. I know the cake is the main thing, but let’s not unnecessarily eliminate any possibility of some tasty frosting. Mmkay?

If someone on the left has a flash of intelligence and decides the right is the place to be, let them take their bashing like an adult. If they really realize how stupid they’ve been, they’ll understand they deserve it.
The left are happy as clams to slam us at every single miniscule opportunity. Have you watched the twitter #tcot feed much?
