Last night, while most of you were sleeping, the Democratic Party took a long step forward towards passing their health care rationing bill. The details are arcane Senatorial procedure, but two things must be taken away from it:
- No Republican Senator – no Republican Senator; not even the ones typically called ‘RiNOs*’ – voted to ration your health care and make you a criminal for not wanting insurance.
- Every Democratic Senator – every Democratic Senator; even the ones thought ‘reasonable’ or ‘bipartisan’ – voted to ration your health care and make you a criminal for not wanting insurance.
This is the way that it is. If you disapprove, well, the following Senators cast the 60th vote for health care rationing and criminalizing lack of insurance:
Evan Bayh
Michael Bennet
Barbara Boxer
Christopher Dodd
Byron Dorgan
Russ Feingold
Kirsten Gillibrand
Daniel Inouye
Patrick Leahy
Blanche Lincoln
Barbara Mikulski
Patty Murray
Harry Reid
Chuck Schumer
Arlen Specter
Ron Wyden
…so feel free to make your disapproval known unto them, from now until November.

writeblock Monday, December 21st at 10:02AM EST (link)Even the left doesn’t like this mess of a bill. I would bet the Supremes would be more united against this bill than is usual. The left insists the individual mandate is an illegal transfer of monies to the insurance industry; the right insists it’s an illegal infringement of an individual’s freedom. They oppose the same provision for different reasons.
I also think the Supremes would be far more impressed by the public revulsion towards this bill. It clearly violates the will of the people. Then there’s the issue of the tenth amendment. That too would be concern–as is the unequal treatment of Nebraska vis a vis the other states, a clear red flag for the Court.

Don't forget Virginia!
ruthie Monday, December 21st at 10:25AM EST (link)Why in the world are Senator Webb and Senator Warner from Virginia routinely left off the lists of culpable Democrat senators? Virginians have made it very clear that they are against this government takeover of health care being pushed as positive reform. If the recent elections aren’t evidence of that, I don’t know what is. Our new governor traveled the state last year and said without hesitation that the residents are overwhelming against the policies coming out of Washington, especially spending, health care reform, and cap and trade.
Virginia is traditionally and predictably a Red State… it is only now considered purple because: 1) the liberal media were successful in smearing our beloved George Allen and giving us Senator Webb, Senator Mark Warner (D) rode the coattails of longtime but retiring Senator John Warner (R) with name recognition, and the over-educated populace of Northern Virginia gave hope-and-change a chance with Obama.
The nation should be hammering Webb and Warner relentlessly, as they are instrumental in this passage. Had they banded together (and they still can) to represent the desires of Virginians, they could unapologetically say no to this and garner the respect of their constituents.

Of course, it depends on what the meaning of “is” is. Oh yes, I forgot: hope is now despair and change is now extermination.
And you talk about the vote!? These cool as cucumber “leaders” aren’t the least bit concerned about maintaining their control because they realize they have the actual final say. They will control the voting booth through the use of union intimidation and ACORN buses. The courts will back them up, of course. And, where there’s a problem, they’ll be sure to fix it – no matter what!
It’s too late for education. The proganda began many, many years ago. We allowed our schools to go to $hit. And the Grand Old Party’s inability to effectively educate the “formerly known minorities” of who is really on their side, has been a huge contributing factor to the gifts we are now going to receive.
