There is no provision in the bill to actually CHECK the status of an UNDOCUMENTED ALIEN!! Meaning that since the CHECK provision doesn’t exist, it means that UNDOCUMENTED ALIENS WILL BE PROVIDED HEALTHCARE… The IMPLIED action of the bill is always overlooked once the entire bill is taken in context. That UNDOCUMENTED Section is to catch people like you to way it was… its window dressing nothing more as a mechanism to say “See? We don’t want to cover illegal aliens”… nice try.

So thus… Joe Wilson WASN’T Lying…Obama WAS Lying!

Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act (42 U.S.C. § 1395dd, EMTALA) is a United States Act of Congress passed in 1986 as part of the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act. It requires hospitals and ambulance services to provide care to anyone needing emergency treatment regardless of citizenship, legal status or ability to pay. There are no reimbursement provisions. As a result of the act, patients needing emergency treatment can be discharged only under their own informed consent or when their condition requires transfer to a hospital better equipped to administer the treatment.

Where are the enforcement provisions to ensure it? Why did the Democrats on the Committee vote down an amendment that would have added those provisions?

And why is the Congressional Research Service (the non-partisan research arm of Congress) saying that yes, the bill as written, notwithstanding that CYA section you’re citing, will cover illegal immigrants?

Being civil and treating liberals like we would like to be treated is the exact reason that conservatives are in the position that we are in.

No, the problem isn’t our being civil. It’s that we haven’t been demanding that THEY be civil. Obama threatening to “call people out” is EXACTLY what we should have been doing.

Bush turned the other cheek as the the popular media protrayed him as a liar, a retarded child, a frat boy, a monkey, a nazi, a terrorist, and a war criminal (I’m sure that’s just a partial list). THIS president can’t let anyone get away with pointing out when he’s wrong (let alone lying). Of course, the fact that he can call out his flying monkeys in the alphabet media to take down anyone who gets uppity makes doing this a lot easier, but Bush could have gone a lot further in defending himself.

We don’t need to get into a race for the bottom with people who are already living there. What we need to do is to do is take Sarah Pallin’s lead and start acting like men. The “new tone” has GOT to STOP. Refusing to fight for your reputation is NOT the high road.

So what? I am also tired of needless apologies being handed out where they aren’t warranted. Joe Wilson was right to call out the TOTUS as the liar that he is and wrong to apologize for it at the behest of the softies in the GOP.

I’m tired of playing nice-nice with the left as if it would ever help our cause. John McCain proved that being a nice guy when it comes to the left nets you zero election wins.

Joe Wilson will make a little campaign cash off of this episode and that is good. I will donate to his campaign as well because I think that he is a stand up guy for conservatism. In the end, I don’t think that he will need it because I believe that the true conservatives will roll through the November 2010 elections with impressive wins.

The left will gain a little steam from this episode. It will be short-lived though as the new will wear off of the TOTUS’ little campaign performance and all that will be left in the end are the perpetual lies and overused democrat campaign talking points that we keep hearing and have already seen debunked. The democratic party is the party of lies and deceit. Nothing new there now or evermore.

The “fact” that non-citizens will not be covered is a blind assumption based on weak cover in the bill. With purposeful exclusion of any language to enforce this clause, it is nothing but a blatant cover to refute the reality that non-citizens will indeed be covered.
And when the president calls all of those that oppose him liars, contrary to the fact, then he has invited the reciprocal treatment. When the president claims the liars will be called out, his words have just been carried out.

a liberal actually tells me with a straight face to be civil and respect the office. Have you been on the moon for the last eight years? You can claim that you are preaching facts all you want, I can call a horse a dog but guess what it is still a horse. I would go through all of the examples of you and those who hold similar beliefs hypocrisy on this matter but I would run out of space and don’t frankly want to waste my time. This is another example of the liberal mantra, “Do as I say not as I do” Since when have liberals ever done anything to alienate illegals, why would you start now by refusing them healthcare? Track record speaks alot and your side of the isle, my friend, can not hide your past and future intentions. The only difference now is that we are calling you on it.
