John Holdren. Science Czar. Exceptionalism Denialist.

You might remember John Holdren from a previous post – one where it was noticed that the man was on the record as considering the government to have the right to force a woman to not have a baby. As I recall, it was loudly and repetitively declared at the time that thirty years was plenty of time for Holdren to modify his extremist, anti-choice views on reproductive rights. Which is an interesting argument, but I’m curious: is two years enough for him to do the same moral development, when it comes to denial of American exceptionalism and rejection of capitalism?

(H/T: AoSHQ) For those without handy video access: Holdren first sneers at the very notion that there’s something special about America in the first place, then blithely informs the virtual crowd – yes, this discussion was made to a digital audience; no, this particular flavor of the Left has always been blind, deaf, and especially dumb to irony – that of course we’re going to have to become poorer so that everybody else can become… less poor. In other words, it’s the usual zero-sum game nonsense that took refuge among our professional academic class, post-Cold War. I don’t know whether it’s mourning for the lost fever dream of Marxism, or pique that we knuckle-dragging, jingoistic class-deniers made killing the monster look easy… but ever since then a certain type has been nursing a real grudge against the American dream, and expressing it in a variety of ways. Apocalyptic environmentalism is merely one form; there are more.

Which is fine – or at least tolerable, or at least endurable – but why are we letting people who shelter these thoughts anywhere near the reins of power? Surely the President could have found somebody for science czar who had not only Holdren’s paper qualifications, but also the belief that there’s something special about this country. He could have found someone who agrees that we have the right to dream heroic dreams. I refuse to believe that we couldn’t do better than John Holdren.

And I resent that this even has to be brought up.

The consistency of the crowd....

Is a deafening noise.
The “vetting” process”
- Do they think like me – check
- Do they have links to common causes – check
- Are they heavily educated and even published – check
- Do they embrace the cause – check
- Do they have direct or indirect influence (ethics be damned) – check
End of vetting process.

All that other trivial stuff like being a law abiding tax paying citizen, ethical, etc, etc, are not part of the requirements.

Yes, surely there is a similarly (or better) qualified individual, but the appointment, like all the others was no accident. They are all like minded. They revile the American history, the American fortitude and strength, and most of all what America stands for. The common theme is a radical far-left elitist view (as we all have seen). It may be focused in one area more than another, but Obaby has surrounded himself with those that think like him.

Sadly Moe, he could not. You could have. Erick could have. I could have. Almost anybody who posts here at Red State could. But the President couldn’t. In order to find that somebody, you must first believe in American exceptionalism, and secondly, you must believe that there exists an educated person who shares that view. The Big 0 doesn’t even make it past the first condition let alone addressing the second. Oh, they papered over Michelle’s “for the first time I’m proud” remark. But you don’t say anything that isn’t part of your inner thinking.

Holdren, Van Jones, Mark Lloyd, they all think just like The Big 0. But like Biden said, he at least knows how to say it politely so white folks aren’t scared ********, I mean offended.

I'm sorry; I can't hear you. The hypocrisy is deafening.

If exceptionalism does not exist, then why should John Holdren have such a cushy job?

He should give up his advisory position and dig ditches with the rest of the world.

Just saying.

Thanks for the post, Moe

I’ve been wondering the exact same thing about Holdren. And the rest of the czars. Frightening. Thanks to folks like you and Glen Beck who are not afraid to expose the facts. This has always been the “emperor isn’t wearing any clothes” presidency. Disgusting.

No!!!11!1!!1!1! The Bilderbergers are coming

NO MORE CZARS!!!

Talking about the Czars…Another sad day today – check this link http://www.examiner.com/x-19673-Michelle-Obama-Examiner~y2009m9d10-Cass-Sunstein-confirmed-by-Senate-in-5740-vote-for-director-of-regulatory-affairs-for-Barack-Obama

Which brings the count up to 39? 40 Czars? Plus their staffs, of course. Where’s the CBO on the Budget impact of this out-of-control regulatory spree??

I got the www.stopsunstein.com petition out to as many congressmen and friends ss possible, though I knew it wouldn’t make a difference…I’m not afraid of the RULING THUGS!!

A blogger named James (James O’Keefe himself perhaps?) at the www.biggovernment.com site has a smart idea to get Big Liberal Media to start reporting fairly again – voycott their sponsors, same thuggish tactic the Left is currently employing against Whole Foods, Glenn Beck, etc. and that Mainstream America employed with David Lettermann after his lewd derision of Sarah Palin’s daughter on his show a few months ago. James has compiled a seven-page list of Big Media sponsors and left his contact info. if you want to help with the campaign: jheard1292@aol.com or call him at 903-277-6801

LET’S REMAIN VIGILANT!!! WE MUST TAKE BACK OUR REPRESENTATIVE REPUBLIC, ONE DAY AT A TIME, TO PRESERVE THE AMERICAN DREAM!!

NO MORE CZARS!!! Boycott Dinasour Media sponsors
