[UPDATE]: I’ve had a copy of the image sent to me that includes the URL. The Google cache for the site is here; as you can see, not only did the image originate from the site, but the author him/herself was present at the Reston Town Hall, writing posts about it. I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that I think that we’ve established that the flier found below represents a deliberate attempt by the Left to incite racially-motivated hate against the Right.
I apologize in advance for the ugly and graphic nature of the image that will be available for viewing after the fold: I would prefer not to show it, but unfortunately somebody decided that it was suitable for distribution after the Reston, VA Town Hall – and I can’t actually talk about it without showing it.
…Yeah. See also The Blog Prof, Weasel Zippers, American Power, Gateway Pundit, and Marooned in Marin: the image comes from Restonian, which is claiming a virtuous motive in removing from the flyer the URL of the group that disseminated this racist garbage – a claim which I personally don’t believe for a second, although you’re welcome to check their archives and make up your own minds. Still, even Restonian concedes that the URL that was removed from the original flier is for an anti-Tea Party website (I screenshotted that admission, by the way); and the ‘artist’ is one Mike Flugennock, a Hard Lefty (and, apparently, a closet racist) from the area. I see no reason to pretend that it was anything except an attack on the people opposing health care rationing.
I present all of this for educational purposes, not ideological. You need to know what they think of you. Particularly when they sort of don’t want you to know what they think of you.

PS: I’d be fascinated to see the original URL associated with this flyer, myself.

Oh... Nevermind
gahazzah (Diary) Saturday, August 29th at 4:34PM EST (link)I understand your point now.
Had to bounce through all the stories, there was a URL on the bottom of the flier when the image was disseminated that was obscured by Restorian thereby implying that a right-of-center group put it out, even though a leftist created it.
Gotcha.

Actually, Restonian admitted that the URL was for an anti-Tea Party group.

They are at war with the country
Beaglescout (Diary) Saturday, August 29th at 7:30PM EST (link)They see us as the enemy. They want to destroy each and every conservative who knows, understands, and believes in the principles that the Constitution was based on. They want to create a socialist utopia in the US, but they apparently haven’t learned the lesson of socialism, which is that the only way socialism can work is if it is conjoined with an extremely strong attachment to Christianity. Of the Owen and Fourier inspired, atheist socialist communes that were established in the 19th century, every single one failed within a couple of years. Such was the fate of the communist phase at Jamestown VA and Plymouth MA as well. Some, but not all of the Christian socialist groups, such as the Shakers, Moravians, and Rappists, survived for a long time as communities. The human spirit is not compatible with socialism, unless there is a strong admixture of Christianity. I suppose it is possible to have another religion that supports a socialist society in a way that makes the people who live there happy with their lot, but I haven’t seen it. In any case, the socialists who are at war with us certainly do not want to establish any religion of self-abnegation. But since they are at war with us we must fight back. We can’t let them be the only ones who ever attack. Defense is a strategy for losers. Do we want to lose?

I'm trying to find out how to get paid
JustLeaveMeAlone (Diary) Saturday, August 29th at 11:43PM EST (link)for my weekend in DC for the 9/12 protest. Plane ticket cost $350; hotel room @ $120/nite (i have a “regular’s discount” at a Capitol Hill hotel), cab fares $100 plus, food, parking my car at IAH while I’m gone ($60), various tips to skycaps and bellhops ($40)…. let’s see, then there’s the value of my time.
Hmmm… so all in all, this little jaunt to DC is costing me at least $1K out of pocket, not counting lost revenue. Plus I have to get up at an unGodly hour Sunday morning to fly back to Houston in time for the noon kickoff of the season’s first home NFL football game. (Tickets and parking @ $230; so I’m getting myself home as that money’s spent!)
So who do I contact about my astroturf check?
Of course, crazy right-wing nutjob that I am, I happen to think the 9/12 protest is worth $1,000 and two days of my time; it’s that important.

Did you really mean to use a sexually explicit epithet to refer to the everyday folks who have been showing up at congressional town halls and tea parties, who object to forced medical rationing, to government takeovers and bailouts of multiple industries, and to our spendthrift emirs in Washington?
Did you REALLY intend to join the ranks of Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow, and insult those regular “folks” you’re supposedly looking out for?

disgustedamerican Saturday, August 29th at 9:32PM EST (link)I apologize for any vulgar language. However, if you people can’t understand why, I’ll talk about it on Phil’s station come Monday at 4 pm
It's not that we don't understand the outrage
TNJim (Diary) Saturday, August 29th at 9:43PM EST (link)bu the site does have posting rules. I’m sure the language some of use in private when this administration proves further how they want to take the country down the road to socilism or it’s supporters do things like the “artist” Moe wrote about here would peel paint of the walls.
But the site does have posting rules, that’s all. We all have to dial it back some when we write diaries and comment here. I’ve had to change what I’ve typed more than once to make it less venomous but still make my point.
..
disgustedamerican Saturday, August 29th at 9:52PM EST (link)I’m not changing a damn thing, regardless, I’m American.
You're an idiot and a moby, or maybe just an idiot.

Achance (Diary) Saturday, August 29th at 10:46PM EST (link)with his presence back in June. Kings are pretty oily so they’re hard to smoke. We use a dry brine marinade and pack them in brown sugar for twelve hours or so, rinse it all off and put them in the smoker for 16-18 hours at around 140 or so degrees, not hot, but warm enough to dry them. Makes fall football games and NASCAR races much more enjoyable but I don’t want to think about what they cost per pound.

Re: Wood?
Achance (Diary) Saturday, August 29th at 11:06PM EST (link)I use a propane smoker, can’t remember the brand but I bought it at Costco; heavy steel and cast iron burner assembly.
Mostly we use alder wood and some little taste of hickory. With other fish, we may add some more flavorful woods like cherry or apple. King Salmon is so strong that you don’t want to try to do much with it. Silver Salmon is a much more delicate taste and you can do fanciful things with it.

blooch Saturday, August 29th at 11:57PM EST (link)We’ve got a phenomenon going on here that I call Townhall Enthusiasm Overflow. I can think of four n00bs recently–yes, including jingotwit– who exemplify that phenomenon…man, that’s a hard word to type. I’m not going to use it again.
Now, I’m a sniper, mostly a lone wolf and not much to say, but I can smell a troll or moby a mile away. Y’all are hardened veterans of battles I’ve skirted, as I prefer to sit in my perch and look for targets alone. So naturally, you look askance at these raw recruits who come in full of pizz & vinegar, all fired up to charge the pillbox. Some of the stuff they say just screams MOBY, but some of them may be the same folks we applaud for being cantankerous and in-your-face at townhalls.
I know RedState does not suffer fools gladly, friend or foe, and I won’t personally vouch for any n00b, especially on a Saturday night, but I think this guy is legit…whether you want him around here is another question entirely.
My 2 cents, and I’m going back to my spot now.

The middle is key--and teachable!
illinois (Diary) Sunday, August 30th at 2:33AM EST (link)Moe’s right—-the newly awakened, formerly dormant, passive, disengaged middle are the one’s not used to the racism and dirty tricks of the hard left. This is a huge shock to them. However, what’s really marvelous is the bravery and patriotism of all you regular ordinary people going out and making your voices heard and using the technology we have so that we can record and upload the egregious and reprehensible behaviors of Obama’s thugs, i.e. the orders from the oval office to “hit back twice as hard.” It’s marvelous to get the truth out. This makes a huge difference. I recall back in 2000—doing protests—-the thuggish lefties got away with more intimidation because it wasn’t as easy to record , upload and publicize their dirty tricks! So, the stay on the couch middle were more easily tricked into believing that baloney about “vast right wing conspiracy!” For my own Dem-middle relatives—it’s been a real wake=up call for them to watch the state run media—and then to get the truth from email links to video clips like the Reston un-american stuff.
