Well, I think I would conceal, but possibly open carry might help avoid events from ever escalating like the beating a man received which hospitalized him.
Yes, the thugs might just respect the show of the ability of personal defense which might not be a bad idea in view of the potential risks of just stating your opinion.
Or are we forbidden to attend the Pro-Health care town hall rally’s if we are in opposition? We certainly are not welcome.
Some people are not content to stay at home, safe and sound whilst the government proceeds to further their agenda to control, tax and enslave the entire US population…\
I think they are very honorable for taking great personal risk by showing up to speak their minds.

If this guy has any sense, the weapon is on safe and does not have a round chambered. So your hypothetical seven year old would have to pull the charging handle back and put the weapon on semi and then pull the trigger. That’s not an easy feat for anyone at least without being noticed. For that matter if the weapon was “hot”, I think someone would notice a kid before the trigger was pulled.

But for all I know the magazine is empty.

Where a Crisis can’t be hyped, just hype the conditions in preparation for whatever event might happen along that can be attached to the pre-hyped/trumped-up Crisis.

When will they start to realize that most of us on the conservative/libertarian side of the aisle could care less about what color Barack Obama is. While I would have never voted for BO, it had nothing to do with him being black. There are at least a half a dozen black men or women that I would not think twice about voting for. To answer the question: “Is MSNBC trying to get Obama shot?” I wouldn’t put it past them. Then their failure of a President will become even bigger than he already is. If it happens, which I hope it doesn’t, it’s not likely our side that would do it. We are smarter than that.

My beef with this guy “Chris” is what I posted earlier:
“These guys in Arizona, particularly the one with the loaded Ar-15 strapped to his back in a crowd of people will likely hand us the biggest setback in gun rights once an accident happens. When I saw the story about the Ron Paul nuts parading around the protests the first thing I thought of was a seven year old kid reaching up to “play” with this semi automatic assault rifle while the clueless guy had his photo-op interview.”

So I come down on the irresponsible nature of this gun owner and how it reflects on all of us. But that aside, what I was responding to was MSNBC taking that incident and making it a racial issue, which in this case, it was not. My viewpoint would be the same if this guy was walking through a street fair with this on his back, or into a church or emergency room, ormy neighbor’s seven year old kid’s summer camp.

What most of the reports semed to miss, probably intentionally, is that nothing happened !
This man exercised his 2nd amendment & state rights by carrying a weapon openly. He did nothing wrong.
Some disagree about his judgement as to the time & place, but still… No shootings, no mass killing, no hysteria.

Nothing happened.

As he shows more and more to be incompetent, and particularly if he shows to be too incompetent to get the holy grail of socialized medicine passed and is thus presumed politically castrated, the far left may decide he has more value to them as a symbol of how racist WE all are, and get him killed themselves, They would of course hang it on the right; what else would they do?

Remember Kennedy, and how beloved he is in certain circles. If he had stayed alive, he would have been the incompetent fool that got us mixed up in Viet Nam instead of the ruler of Camelot and symbol of all that is good about the best and brightest.

Of course, the joke would again be on them – he would most likely survive the attempt, even though he be wounded mortally in the head.

A private citizen may buy, own, and carry fully automatic weapons in the USA. You must pass a BATF background check, and pay for a license. You may also buy, own, and carry a silencer under similar provisions.

at the BUT…whenever someone is moving along nicely going along with the diariest and then they throw in the BUT to me PERSONALLY that is negating everything said before it! I also question why you think it is irresponsible for a legal citizen carrying a legal weapon who according to the Secret Service was NO WHERE NEAR the President is irresponsible? It is HIS RIGHT! It is that guy and those around him that will ensure that the government of the United States of America does NOT become a banana republic.

I love that these 2nd Amendment legally carrying Americans are exercising their RIGHT to carry and I will not let the media or whiney liberals dictate to me how to look at the legal carry of weapons. If the left and the oldstream media had their way WE would be left to fend for ourselves with kitchen knives.

FNC has 3.5x the number of viewers over the course of a day that MSNBC does, and about 3x the number during prime time only. Outside of prime time, MSNBC has similar number of viewers to Headline News or whatever it’s called these days. And during prime time, every hour FNC has more viewers than MSNBC, CNN, CNBC, and HLN combined.

Several years ago, I was working in the Gulf coast region of Louisiana and a friend of mine had two of his friends from New York city come down to visit him. The time was just before Thanksgiving that year–the heart of deer season. In Louisiana, that means just about everyone with a pickup truck has a high powered rifle in their back window.

All liberals really care about is promoting and supporting their ideology. When facts and history don’t support their dementia, they just make up fictitious facts or rewrite history. MSNBC’s account of the AR15 at an Obama “pep rally” is just another example of liberals creating fictitious facts to support their demented ideology.

Do the liberals make up these fantasy facts on purpose…of course they do! However, their dementia prevents them from knowing they are doing it. We should all feel sorry for them…not.

If BHO became a martyr for the leftist cause and JRB used sympathy to get a Newer New Deal/Greater Great Society to complete the government takeover of our lives, then the left would see it as worthwhile. Obama’s ratings are diving so he’s served his purpose and can be tossed under the bus now if a greater good would come from his death.

I swear to God I sometimes feel that’s how these people on the far left think. The coverage of Michael Jackson would seem like a blip. You’d have MSNBC etc. going 24×7 with racial propaganda. More than for any previous president, I pray to God that nothing happens to Obama.

BTW Does anyone see anything that all the MSNBC hosts have in common? Apparently it’s okay to hire only white people as long as most of them are anti-white racists. I wonder how many of them would volunteer to give up their job and let some perfectly qualified black man or woman have it so that MSNBC’s lineup would look more like “America” and less like “Vermont”?
