That’s House Minority Leader John Boehner’s response to CoS Rahm Emanuel’s rather… well, sad… statement that the White House has turned the economy around:
Madam Speaker, American families and small businesses are hurting. The economy has been hurting, but this morning in previewing the President’s speech tonight, our former colleague, the President’s Chief of Staff, said this: ‘[W]e rescued the economy.’
“Now, I’m sure that the 9.5 percent unemployment rate that we have in our country today and from most economic experts on its way up don’t believe that we’ve rescued the economy. The 11.1 percent unemployment rate that we have in Ohio, I’m sure those people are looking up today wondering, wait a minute, the President is going to say we rescued the economy? I don’t think so.
“Not only has the stimulus not worked and the economy not been rescued, the President continues to promote policies that will create more unemployment in America. The national energy tax that went through this House last month will cause millions of Americans to lose their jobs over the next 10 years, at 2.5 million per year. And we’re debating the health care plan, the government takeover of health care, which according to the President’s council of economic advisor’s model will cost five million more Americans their jobs.
This is where we’re at, right now:

…and from where I’m sitting this administration has made things worse, and if cap-and-trade and health care rationing are passed they’ll get still worse yet. And it shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone that this would be the case; the executive and legislative branches of the government are dominated by people with the avowed desire to take energy out of the system, rather than put more in. That this results in less energy available overall – the technical term is ‘poverty’ – is an inevitable result.
Elections have consequences.

bk (Diary) Thursday, July 23rd at 7:42AM EST (link)Bush hid how bad things really were, so the administration is really doing a bang-wonderful job after all. We know the Messiah is infallible, so it can’t be possible that he screwed up.
Ok, for the last time, bk - It's.All.Bush's.Fault.

Chicago messiah saved the economy from the Brink
littlel Thursday, July 23rd at 8:20AM EST (link)the Brink of recovery. Barry has never been held accountable for his actions and now his own words are always “misinterputed” or what he said is not what he meant (Teleprompter malfunction). He has so distanced himself from reality that his lies cannot pull him from the Brink. What is even more destructive for America is that both houses of Congress have no will to stop him.
As any 1st year College Student knows (and experiences) borrowing money even for worthy causes (education) means a tough cheaply lived life. The money has to be paid back with future earnings–with interest. This impacts living standards for years to come.
This is what America is being “Changed” into; tough, cheaply lived lives for years to come and this is all in the name of Hope and Change. Yet Barry and Congress will continue to have “Great” health care that they will not give up. Yet we are not to say that class warfare does not exist-no no no no- just look at Michelle O. wearing $600 sneakers doing “charity” work, or $7,000 handbags doing the “peoples” business overseas. Yes the Obama’s have it “Great”–how are you doing these days? Thought so.
