PPP’s poll is especially good news for the Guy With The Car’s campaign, but it’ll probably still be a nail-biter for the Other side tomorrow. Unless another six polls come out that confirm PPP’s, of course. Or turnout exceeds the five percent estimated for tomorrow’s primary.
Jim Geraghty (who originally provided a version of the above snark, by the way) has more; he thinks that the Guy With The Car can give GOP candidate Bob McDonnell a good run for his money. He certainly doesn’t think that the Brother To The Anti-Semite is going to pull this one off (and that’s a shame, particularly if said Anti-Semite gets indicted this summer). Guess we’ll see…

Deeds has made the same promises, which seem to me to be totally not in keeping with the Obama and Liberal positions. I would be surprised if McAuliffe does not win the nomination, as he would be the most likely to have ACORNS help and support.

With the recent ‘Blue trending’ of VA, I can’t say I’m hopeful.
Sure, the Nutroots can cut Deeds off from their money, but the national Dems will be able to more than make up for it from their more “traditional” sources.
Anyway, if Deeds does pull this out, I’ll be forced to reverse what I said on text97′s diary, and move VA from the “GOP slamdunk” to the “GOP is less likely to win than in NJ” category, which means I’ll basically end up affirming text97′s take that the GOP is more likely than not to lose both 2009 races…

I’d like to vote for the candidate who would be weakest against McDonnell in the general.

I can certainly come to my own analysis, but if there is already a well-considered treatment of the idea, I’d love to get the input. At this point I’m thinking Moran.
