‘Pure stagecraft.’

That was my wife’s immediate response to my mentioning that Rush Limbaugh responded to Ms. Sykes‘ rather tawdry – and absolutely typical – attack on him by… not commenting on it at all. Bear in mind that my wife isn’t particularly political, doesn’t listen to talk radio (then again, neither do I), and more or less smiles and nods when I start blathering on and on about this sort of thing.

But she is smart. Smarter than me, in fact; I had already worked out that Limbaugh has bigger fish to fry, but she connects the dots very quickly, sometimes.

Does she mean that he wanted to rise above it

or that he wanted to not bring attention to it so it would die out?

I’m guessing that he didn’t want to dignify the rantings of a shrew by even acknowledging her existence. Unfortunately, when GWB ignored the crazies, they multiplied like rabbits and became more and more acceptable to society at large (I almost said polite society, but polite people never did accept their insanity.)

Proper grammar saves lives.

Rush did not have to respond...

DONTREADONME (Diary) Tuesday, May 12th at 1:17AM EST (link)

because, why? I thought today Rush did not need to respond to a D list actor and comedian because what this is just par for the course of the administration. BTW, my wife said something similar to yours Moe, she said, “who cares what she says, she bombed, and I hope Rush does not even address her because that performance was not worthy of remark.”

Yep. Rush is darn good at what he does.

He doesn’t need to go out and defend himself against a hack comedienne.

and a poster child for Rush’s Theory on the Origins of Feminism.

While I would have loved for Rush to eviscerate BO and Sykes....
