And I have to think that while some of those categories looked pretty unsavory, a lot of the people characterized as extremists I would not mind having as neighbors. In fact, most of my neighbors probably ARE extremists as defined by this document.

arguing with some clown on Amazon who was declaiming how ridiculous was Jonas Goldberg’s assertion (in “Liberal Fascism”) that white, conservative Christians were the new Jews. How ridiculous he hollered. How incredulous. How unlikely.

I cited a couple of examples from my own experience of how I had been singled out for opprbrium b/c I was a conservative. Paranoid, he claimed, there must be another reason. It will never happen here, he exclaimed

I guess Mr. Goldberg wasn’t far off the mark.

I know we spend a lot of time making fun of this but there’s an ugliness to it, too.

This report is just the opening salvo the demogoguery war that’s being initiated. If this is allowed to stand in the government, it won’t be long before we’re being pointed at and out and hauled off like criminals for simply holding views that are the opposite of TheOne and his party. We’ve watched it happen over and over in every tin pot dictatorship around the world and some not so tin pot and we think it can’t happen here… just like the Jews in Germany didn’t take it seriously until it actually started affecting their lives.

this afternoon (yes we have them in NY). The general tone of the conversation how clueless, out-of-touch, and intentionally discriminatory against many of the folks that defend out country. At the counter were:
2 policeman (1 NYC, and 1 County)
1 FBI agent
2 retired Marines
1 ANG officer
and me, retired military, current overseas miitary contractor.

Who are the fools who write such nonsense?
Have they ever worked in the defense or security business?
Sounds like it was written by a 20 year old ivy league kid’s term paper (agenda sans facts, hence D-).

DHS should concentrate its focus on people who befriend and have had close associations and friendships with domestic terrorists who have actually placed many bombs in the USA with the intent to kill and maim. Someone like Bill Ayers for example and his pal Obama.
