There were tons of witty, poignant signs but the funniest i think was a set of two. One said “Who is John Galt” (Atlas Shrugged).

It snowed here today and has been quite cold, but I estimate about 400-500 people still came out. It was great group, very vocal.

How many protests begin with the national anthem? Ours did. A soloist sang the anthem and by the end the entire crowd was singing along.

How many protests include hundreds of American flags? Ours did.

We were not protesting our country, we were protesting our irresponsible government.

Best sign at the tea party: Don’t Tax Me Bro!

Honorable mention: I’m tired of getting Franked in the Fannie Mae!

whoever was at the tresury directing people to the other site I giev many Kudos to for his efforts.
I meet lots of different people and had to leave early (about 1:30) it seemed a lot of people were just arriving at that time.

some good ones being reported in all the Tea Party diaries .... Below is from AP story here which, of course, starts off trying to slant the whole day....

At a rally in Madison, Wis., Jean Snyder of Milwaukee held a sign showing the U.S. Capitol as a pirate ship, with taxpayers walking the plank into a sea of debt. In Boston, a few hundred protesters gathered on the Boston Common — a short distance from the original Tea Party — with some dressed in Revolutionary War garb and carrying signs that said "Barney Frank, Bernie Madoff: And the Difference Is?" and "D.C.: District of Communism." ..... And at a midday rally in downtown Louisville, Laura Watkins pushed her 2-year-old daughter Zoe in a stroller with a sign strapped to the front reading "My Piggy Bank is not Your ATM." .... In Des Moines, Iowa, more than 1,000 people gathered on the steps of the state Capitol wearing red shirts proclaiming "revolution is brewing."

I didn’t meet many of you. I was the wet lady becoming friendly with folks with large umbrellas.

Everyone was very nice and polite. The police were quite relaxed. I think it went for our first time.

and I thought the turnout was great but was also slightly disappointed it wasn’t bigger especially since DC is so central to so many places. I was watching Beck and was a bit jealous of the folks in the sun. I was sorta hunkered down in the middle toward the stage and had a great view of a few of the “infiltrators”. I left just as they were shutting down the park. I was happy to meet so many optimistic people and had a good time listening to the speakers. Alan Keyes, Laura Ingraham & Professor Hudgens were great. I’m still getting dry. Hope to meet some other Redstaters next time.

Everything was perfect!!…Lots of Americans voicing their disgust with the present government….there was 1 liberal who looked like he just rolled out of bed and he was being soundly berated and ignored by more than a thousand people…sweet

Andrew Breitbart was the guest speaker and he totally Rocked the house…

perusing the huffington post it was interesting to find these two videos of the cnn reporter. The first guy they interviewed wasnt very eloquent and any one here could have made it better. Actually out of the whole crowd, his was probably the most extreme of the signs which is why he was selected by the reporter. A Plant? maybe, the operation chaos hat was a good touch.

the second video is great, her argument is that illinois is getting a lot of moeny from the government so why are they complaining. they just dont get it. good.
