The DoD is talking about attacking the pirate’s land bases. They could simply say, “we’re planning a response” or “we’ll be dealing with the pirates.” This would leave them at least wondering what our intentions are. Instead, they are now preparing for our assault.

I think we should go back to “Ignore them; maybe they’ll go away.” Well, almost, anyway.

We should do NOTHING about the ships currently being held by the pirates–their own countries can handle that in their own way.

Let this stand as the modus operandi until the rest of the world, through the UN, BEGS us to help them handle their problems. If they don’t need us, fine. If they do, it should cost them, arrogant SOB’s that we are.

And any idea of “proportional response” should be immediately tossed aside.

And scream if pirate menace grows(which is happening) and nothing is done.

I mean, if Somalia was running drugs and cargo off the coast of Texas without permission you can bet every red-neck, gun-totting Texan would be paddling out to protect their home.

To me we are in the fight of our life in a rickety life raft. I don’t need one more person taking water on the raft by making themselves the news story which is what Mr. Goldberg did. Obama is a giant loss for us period. When you’re drowning why debate if he was half right on one media creation? National media can write want they want to further the career they desire. But we should not help them in advancing their career while our rickety raft is taking on water.
