“The typical American is not a good citizen…”

(Via Glenn Reynolds) I’d submit this without comment:

…except where’s the fun in that? Not that I have much to add: when you have members of your group saying things like “The typical American is not a good citizen” further commentary may seem a touch unfair. I will note that if this group is typical then the NWF people are building up quite the conspiracy theory for themselves; par for the course, mind you, but still worth pointing out. They also don’t seem to like the rest of us very much.

Which is also par for the course.

PS: If there was a protester with an American flag at that rally, I missed it. Didn’t see any in the DC video, either. Boulder? Nope.

Hmm. Do I detect a theme?

The more the gubmint lets people disclaim responsibility

For their own actions
For their own mortgages
For the crimes they commit
For the children they father or give birth to
For the money they borrow

The less active and involved the citizens become, and the more citizens become “good consumers” instead of “good citizens.” The ignoramus in this video don’t even understand the implications of their positions.

I am indeed not a good citizen...

JadedByPolitics (Diary) Sunday, April 12th at 12:01PM EST (link)

I am NOT a good citizen of the world but I am a GREAT citizen of the United States of America!…..just so we are clear I despise the majority of the other countries of the world and The One should NOT count on a large majority of the US citizens to be good world citizens!

Well it might depend on what NEIGHBORHOOD you live in

If guys in your neighborhood try to blow up American military installations and curse the United States of America in church, then yes, the typical American, at least in YOUR neighborhood, might not be a good citizen.

On the other hand, if most people in your neighborhood cling to their Bibles, American flags [either the modern ones with the STARS and STRIPES or the old ones with the rattlesnake], and their guns, then the typical American near you probably is a good citizen.
