Bush was Republican so the state of the economy was the GOP’s fault. Polls taken after the election showed that over half of voters were unaware that the Dems had been in control of Congress since 2007, a point kept very quiet by the MSM during the election. So for all Obama’s bleating about the lack of oversight, it was his party that had majorities and the leadership position on all those oversight committees.

Obama will continue to blame Bush. When he starts running for re-election around Jan 2011, his mantra will be “We can’t afford to return to the same failed policies of George W Bush.” So despite the fact that he will have never directly faced off against Bush, he will have been running against the specter of Bush for about six years by the time election 2012 rolls around.

But Obama’s song and dance will get old. Economy and jobs will continue to struggle. Obama will get out there every now and then and give a prime time address to try to turn public opinion in his favor. MSM will swoon. Dems in Congress will call it a another tour de force. But if people don’t start seeing real results, it will cease to matter that the guy can give a pretty speech (as long as he has his teleprompter).

A majority of the American people are victims of failed government schools, and through the left’s relentless propaganda campaign, they’ve been convinced that the “last eight years” were a complete failure. “It’s All Bush’s Fault.”™

Tragically, forming any other conclusion requires rational thought and an historical perspective that can’t be found in government schools.

The Democrats are still as happy as clams, probably for the same reason.

Dow Feb 27, 2009 – 7063 – with President Obama + a Dem Congress, helping (?) the economy.

The economy seems to correlate with Dem control of Congress so make that an issue in 2010. I suspect that Reid and Pelosi are less popular than President Obama. Also, a lot of the blame for this economic mess belongs to Barney Frank and Chris Dodd; while only voters in Connecticut and massachusetts can remove them from office, voters ever where can put them in the minority part in Congress if their own states unwisel keep them.

If the economy started to tank in 2007, who’s fault is that? Let’s answer that question in 2010.
