I’m sorry, but there are some things that just have to be done correctly. Otherrwise people will think you are a dreadful boor. That’s why there are still such institutions as etiquette classes and charm schools, although they may go by different names these days. Isn’t it interesting how classless the “intellectual elites” of the left are? Despite their Harvard and Yale educations, so many of this administration just don’t “get it.” Must be indoctrination by the Chicago political machine. Now there’s a classy organization. Not.

But that’s speaking as a Scout. As Moe pointed out, a even a minor league politician should know Rule #3.

I think it just shows the Obama Administrations arrogance towards others they don’t feel they need so therefore they can be disregarded without considering precedence or respect. For a man who surely invokes “history” when ever it is convenient, he sure doesn’t remember it when it involves the long relationship between America and England. And really now, what does it say about a President and his administration when they can’t even be polite to one of their major allies? I see more effort put into planning the Wednesday night parties at the WH then went into the whole British PM visit.

I feel that in most matters, Mrs. Obamas opinion is very much taken into consideration when Mr. Obama makes a decision. If she has wanted a bigger welcome in respect of the relationship between the two countries, I’m pretty sure she could’ve convinced her husband even if he was reluctant. Once again, I think both of them are showing their international inexperience.

I don’t think Hillary Clinton would’ve acted like that if she was president nor John McCain. I think they both realize that countries need allies and need to court them and keep them happy.

So I can appreciate that the President wouldn’t want to snub them, but I think they would’ve understood if he took more time to build relations with the UK Prime Minister. Rule #2 is probably don’t use the Boy Scouts as an excuse for a lack of good manners on your own part.

But then, he did send back the Churchill bust…
