Let’s trash this kid for speaking his mind. A much better example of the sort of kid the Dems like are the type it seems their Presidential candidates love to mention. You know, the kind where a kid says, “I worked my whole life to buy this bike, but I sold it to give money to your campaign.” They love those kids because they are already trained that the government owns whatever results they produce.

Funny I should come to redstate to find your writing on this subject.. I was listening to a left leaning radio station this evening. The host talked about this issue, played the clip, and stated it was “child abuse” – yes, he was serious..- He also discussed how his niece was turning “religious” and how worried the family is…. again, he was serious.. The disturbing thing about the whole thing was that there were actual callers that called into agree. How sad is that?

Blaming Bush-era proposals for deficits, Obama wanted to set up his own budget that would start Oct. 1, which he proposed last week with a bold goal of cutting the deficit by half within his four-year term.

“First, this is a $1.7 trillion deficit he inherited. Let’s be clear about that. We inherited this deficit and we inherited $4 trillion of new debt,” Emanuel said. “That is the facts.”

Facts, aides said, would be the cornerstone of the administration’s public relations push. Officials faced a tough haul, even as Orszag and others said the proposal would raise taxes on wealthy Americans and increase energy costs.

Emanuel said energy costs are too low, anyway. U.S. car companies relied too long on gas-guzzling autos and failed to invest in alternative energy vehicles, he said. The time for new auto fuels is now, he contended.
