Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina of the Senate Budget Committee said today on “This Week” that he is open to “nationalizing the banks.”

“I think if you put most of our major banks under a ‘stress test,’ they’re going to fail,” Graham told me.

“This idea of nationalizing bank is not comfortable but I think we have got so many toxic assets spread throughout the banking and financial community throughout the world that we’re going to have to do something that no one ever envisioned a year ago, no one likes,” he said.

“To me banking and housing are the root cause of this program,” Graham said. “I would not take off [the table] the idea of nationalizing the banks.”

However Democratic Sen. Chuck Schumer of New York argued against nationalizing the nation’s banks.

“You can have a big, bold plan without nationalization,” Schumer said.

Graham argued the nation’s banking and housing crisis will need far more than the $50-billion President Obama’s administration has pledged to combat home foreclosures.

Graham estimated the nation will need to spend another half a trillion to fix the banking and housing crisis.

“$350-billion left in the TARP is not even close to fix housing and banking,” Graham said.

First of all, the idea that I’d agree with Chuck Schumer is beyond the pale, but in this narrow instance I do. Although I don’t believe him.

Secondly, the “root cause” is not banking and housing you brain dead jerk off, it’s government market making in housing and the government mandating lending standards in banking. But hey, there’s not one person at that table bright enough to understand that concept.

Lindsey Graham has outlived his usefulness, assuming he ever had any.

Graham is bowing to the inevitable (although I do not think he should be doing so).

I’m no ‘stradamus but nationalization is coming, and part of the flubbery response from Geithner is due to it.

They won’t call it nationalization. As heard today on the radio commentary, they’ll think of some better way to name it. Probably something all hope/changey, like redistribution of equity.

They invite her because they know they can roll her. Her Palin hatred was pathetic and beyond reason. Now, she takes private flights with Obama and wifee on Valentine’s Eve. Get a life groupie.

Parker likes being one the beautiful people too much to have any credibility among conservatives. Being cool, cosmolpolitan and “in the know” are her only principles.

The judges presiding over the trial have decided to reward the Al Franken campaign’s challenging of legitimate ballots by restricting the Coleman campaign’s ability to overturn ballot challenges:

MINNEAPOLIS, Minnesota (CNN) – Republican Norm Coleman was dealt a major legal blow Friday evening as the three judge panel overseeing the post-election trial issued an order that significantly limits which rejected absentee ballots may be reconsidered in Minnesota’s U.S. Senate race election.

Counting improperly rejected absentee ballots to prevent what they say was voter disenfranchisement has been a pivotal theme of Coleman’s case.

In their order, the judges said they are “confident that…there is no systemic problem of disenfranchisement in the state’s election system, including in its absentee balloting procedures.”

They also stressed that merely proving a ballot was rejected wrongfully — the issue much of the testimony thus far has been devoted to — is not sufficient grounds to request that it be opened and counted. That voter, they said, may have cast a ballot in person on Election Day, or submitted a subsequent absentee ballot that was counted.

They wrote that each side must prove that the ballots they want counted were “legally cast” and that cannot be done simply showing a ballot was wrongfully rejected.

Nice of them to assume that any disenfranchisement of voters by the Franken campaign during the recount isn’t really disenfranchisement at all and thus can’t be challenged. Looks like the fix is in.

The other day, Friday, I was trying to blog, and watch six of my Grandkids that I had for the night at the same time.
I got on some hot topics, at least they were for me,
and due to trying to help one kid with Zelda Twilight Princess@ on the WII@, (God I love playing Zelda) help another with the same on the Gamecube@, and with the older one, 15, with the Super Nintendo@ Mario Superstars@, I kinda got pulled around.
I’m not making exscuses here, and I am sorry for being curt to some of you. And I may as well say it, my attention was more with the Grandkids than with you.
I don’t want forgiveness mind you. Just understanding.
I’m still the pain in the neck my Mama says I am. And if you think I am wrong on something, let me know. How else do we learn.
