Of course with them blocking new drilling and all the other things they are saddling domestic energy production with - as well as the OPEC cuts in production - if the world economy does kick in, oil and gas prices will be back on the rise and could strangle the economy again. It will all come down to a question of timing. If it does recover, will it happen just before the 2010 elections? And will the resulting oil price shock hurt before or after the elections?
