Republicans are like Charlie Brown trying to kick the frigging football.

If the bill is about to be rewritten(and I think that is what dems have in mind, btw), what good does it do the GOP to participate? A complete rewrite will be an acknowledgemeent by the dems that the bill sucks(it does). By participating the GOP will get zero credit and it will be the Republicans who are portrayed as having had their “demands” met and included in the bill.

Wake up. Give them nothing. Make it their problem and their solution. Everything they are proposing is wrong and will make things wose.

Do not give them cover.

Just vote against it.

Don’t “compromise”.

Do not under any circumstances work to “improve” it.

Just let it pass as is while you vote against it.

If this is the best they can do, if this is HOPE and CHANGE let them have it, for chrissakes. Just don’t give them the political cover they crave.

“if no one makes the arguments, support for the arguments will shrink.” wasn’t talking about support for entitlements but support for the arguments against entitlements.

there’s been no party arguing AGAINST entitlements since Gingrich left. if no one makes the arguments, support for them will shrink. but opposition to entitlements may return if someone starts making the arguments again. maybe folks like cantor and jindal and others can lead the way.

The RNSC called for a donation. I told the poor person who called that I’d donated to RNCC and RNC this week, but not a dime to RNSC until they get their act together, that 9 senators voted for SCHIP this week, I wasn’t happy with the votes to confirm Geithner, and not one red cent until they get their act together — especially opposing this Porkulus bill… the poor guy wasn’t giving up, but I just gave it back to him each time as he lowered his request for money,

which tells me that deep down in their cold evil little hearts, the libs even know it’s a rotten bill. but they are too chicken s**t cowardly to actually oppose “the one” – like a bunch of lemmings they will follow him off the cliff, but they want to make sure the GOP is behind them, so everyone can say “they got pushed off the cliff”. That, and they assume the republicans are so stupid (not being part of the intellectual elite, you know) that they don’t know how to count, and will fall for the fake.

He is the worst majority leader from either party for at least a generation, and maybe two. It’s not only that his policies are bad – some dreadfully bad – but that his remarks are so rash and just so silly. You don’t even have to add anything to his comments in order to turn them into jokes. You just have to give a confused look.

And how is it that the worst Senate majority leader in a generation (or two) AND the worst House speaker in a generation (or two) arrived at the same moment?

I guess that No Child Left Behind didn’t quite fulfill its promise.
