SPRINGFIELD, Illinois (CNN) — Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. — who was cited in a criminal complaint against Rod Blagojevich — has been an informant for at least a decade with the U.S. Attorney’s office, and has informed on the embattled governor of Illinois, though not in the case currently under investigation, Jackson spokesman Kenneth Edmonds told CNN Tuesday.
In addition, two sources close to Jackson told CNN that, in 2002, Blagojevich — then running for governor of Illinois — solicited a $25,000 campaign donation from Jackson, which he did not get.

Let us now all sit back and contemplate all those possible times that Jackson could have been wearing a wire: no, I don’t know how often, or whether he ever did. Then again, neither does anybody who has ever talked to him.

Or was there something back then that made him decide that “flipping” was in his best interest? Does he realize that this admission makes him persona non grata in the hood both now and forever more?
You know what I think? I think Jackson’s spokesperson is a liar. I think that this is the type excuse you hear from child pornographers – “I had all that child porn on my computer because I was doing my own investigation.” I don’t think Junior had any contacts with anyone trying to expose corruption and is trying to explain away his presence on a million taped conversations.
Either way – whether Jackson Jr. is a snitch or whether he is trying to explain away his deep involvement in Chicago corruption – we are witnessing the end of the influence of any Jackson in politics.
And that includes Tito.

Street cred is gone either way, and I cannot imagine how Jackson thought this would benefit him unless it kept him out of jail.
I really hope it is “concerned citizen”, because there are some Democrat pols with soiled pants right now if so.

It’ll no doubt all come out at the trial.
