It’s not just the Senate seat that could get flipped to the GOP – if this scandal gets bad enough, it could enable an enterprising GOP state legislator to vault him- or herself into the Governor’s mansion.

Hmmmm… I thought Obama’s win meant the D’s were going to win every election for the next 20 years. Heck, that’s what the Media, the KosKidz, and some people around here said!

The state senator, Kwame Raoul, who represents the South Side of Chicago, offered few details of his interaction with the governor’s office but said he received a call about a month ago confirming that he was under consideration. Soon afterward, however, Mr. Raoul said he ran head-on into another message: that the governor was looking for a candidate who offered something of tangible value to him.

“It was open knowledge among people in and around Springfield,” Mr. Raoul said. “Legislators and lobbyists alike openly talked about the fact that the governor would want to appoint somebody who would benefit him. I can firmly say that I’ve had these conversations, that I’ve spoken with both legislators and lobbyists who felt that that would be the consideration in his appointment.”

Mr. Obama added that he was appalled and disappointed by what he read in the federal wiretap transcripts contained in the sprawling criminal complaint against Mr. Blagojevich, which included profanities and other references about the president-elect.

“Wildest imagination” indeed was certainly not necessary. It was open knowledge as Raoul makes plain! And chief of staff Emanuel was in direct contact with Blago.

Obama and Axelrod are both pretending here to be shocked by first learning of this  scummy “business of politics” (to use Obama’s phrase from yesterday’s press conference).

They want you to believe they are naïve ignoramuses played for fools in order to cover up the fact that they are inured to the business as usual political graft of these corrupt politicians in Chicago.  Transparency and reform meet lies and hypocrisy.

Congressman Kirk has already let it be known he will run for us if their is a special election for this. I find this to be excellent news

I find it very interesting Congressman Foster and Congresswoman Bean have been very quiet on this (Bean released a 2 sentence statement on it and I could not find squat from Foster) . Perhaps it can spread a bit we do have 5 senate Candidates here.

While I am more than happy to pile on here, as any of you regulars know I often rant-and-rave over the corrupt IL and MI Democrat machines – it is just second nature to them and they don’t see MOST of their actions/activities as “wrong” or a problem so it never has changed. HOWEVER….

First, let me say… If you have never worked on a campaign… and I mean REALLY worked on a campaign (or ran for Office yourself, as I have for our Party several times) and been involved in the nity-grity of having to get the funds to keep that thing rolling (very rare is a campaign where it rolls in on its own) you just may not be able to really appreciate what I am going to say and why I am a tad “cautious” on this one particular issue/aspect of this story. I AM ALL FOR HITTING BLAHGO WITH ANYTHING THAT WILL STICK! especially if some of it will rub off on those around him and up the Obama food chain….

The Issue here is whether there was an “offer” to fund-raise, someone was “asked” to fund-raise, or their was a “DEMAND” that a fundraiser be held!?!?! There are LARGE differences in the later from the first two!!

I say this, just because I am concerned for what you may set yourself up for in how far we all push this one if there is real chance it was “somewhat innocent” – yes, with this crew easy to suspect NOTHING to be innocent! HOWEVER, if we push and push and rant-and-rave and blow it out of proportion too quickly, it will come back on ANY/ALL REPUBLICANS… You know setting this standard now at a very low bar will be thrown in the face – worthy and real or not – of any/every future candidate that has a fundraiser held by anyone other than the candidate’s candidate committee itself.

A bad example, but demonstrative….When someone “ASKS” Barbara Streisand to have a fundraiser (or to give away some of her seat-sales money) for a candidate…. PROBLEM? Of course not…. Less obscure…. When someone with Political, Economic, Social, etc… clout that is close to several differnt people (which are or may become candidates for anything) “OFFER” or are “ASKED” to hold a fundraiser… is that automatically a “BRIBE” or “EXTORTION” …. really!?!?! Anyone associated with a candidate that they want to suceed to current or future Office CAN/WILL ask those who can/will provide the most influence and/or bang-for-the-buck fundraiser! ALWAYS, and that is NOT a bad thing.

YES, the question is WHETHER OR NOT A CONSPIRACY EXISTS TO PROVIDE ONE THING FOR A CONSIDERED (OR GUARANTEED) OTHER OUTCOME.

Don’t get me wrong…. I SO HOPE THE TAPES SHOW CONSIDERED LANGUAGE TO PROVE EXTORTION, BRIBES, KICK-BACKS, AND/OR CONSPIRACY and/or other Criminal actions that can and will be Prosecuted!!!

Again, I am just concerned (mostly for those that never been involved in any campaign) that people come away lumping ASK, OFFER, and DEMAND as all one thing! That anyone holding a fundraiser for anyone other than themselves automatically invokes corruption images. CERTAINLY, anyone holding a fundraiser for someone is expecting something… and that something should always/only be that the person they are helping to raise funds thinks/feels the way they do and will therefore govern in a fashion that benefits all that think/feel the way they do (opposed to some direct KICK BACK).

This is a double edge sword…. and it is NOT in our best interest for Blahgo to be removed from Office under “Fit To Serve” clauses…

First reason is obvious… He is just too much fun and this controversy is GOOD in exposing to those who still hadn’t gotten it (and several of us bring up Detroit and Chicago corruption, thug politics advancing everywhere, ACORN illegal activities COVERED by a lawful front, etc).

Second, and my biggest concern is the PRECIDENCE it sets forth. Having a EGO the size of the State he serves, over sense of self-value and self-worth, etc… is a CHARACTER ISSUE not A MEDICAL INSANITY OPTION! Setting this standard is dangerous for all that come forth. IMPEACHMENT is supposed to mean something and it cannot become just the normal ploy invoked at any/every turn when someone becomes inconvenient or as a ploy to drag down an opponent…. Think here about all the calls for the BUSH and/or CHENEY impeachment crowd!!!

Lastly, if allowed to be diminished to this guy being something more than just a general fruit-loop, moron, corrupt, Politician to being “CLINICLY CRAZY” all the other things get excused away…. and the MSM will be leading the chorus on poo-pooing everything…. That NOTHING Blahgo ever says or has done can matter/stick to anyone else because he cannot be believed… HE’S CRAZY AFTER-ALL… CAN’T BELIEVE ANYTHING THAT WAS SAID!

This guy has to be PROSECUTED for actions/activities UNDER LAW… and, of course, even then there will be some that just excuse it away… but it is less effective….

We want this to drag out for some time!
