done deal. The only reason Saxby didn’t win outright was b/c of the increased number of D voters showing up in the General for Obama. Those people aren’t going to bother turning out for the Combover King. He and his rapper friends can pass the bowl to drown their depression. Why do you think the Democrats didn’t put more realistic resources to GA? They sent Ludacris and TI. ‘Nuff said.

Saxby’s lead is almost as big as the general election margins Martin had in Fulton and Dekalb (his strongholds..)

Martin can’t make up the difference, this one is over (we’re not Minnesota or Washington State down here..)

These results just gave me a strange idea. Would there be any benefit from having the Presidential election a month earlier than the rest? I think it could be argued on a separation of powers basis. There are a lot of people who vote for the President and then just mindlessly check the down ballot races.

Looking at CNN’s page, I’m seeing Chambliss actually leading 51-49 in Fulton; while Fulton has a slice of the northern suburbs, I’m expecting it to end up closer to DeKalb (currently 31-69). But with Chambliss leading 60-40 overall, I’m not expecting that Fulton discrepancy to swing that enough to matter.

Gee, I wonder what took them so long. Could it be that it was the Pubbie that had the 20+-point lead?

For the record, the GA SoS has the following with 71% of precincts in:

Chambliss 882,385 (60.7%)
Martin 570,598 (39.3%)

CNN has now also called the race for Chambliss.

I thought that Palin was a joke and everybody loved Obama now. So how in the world is it that Palin’s pick surged forward in the polls (on his way to a landslide victory) while Obama’s pick is lagging?

Next thing you know, we’ll find that Obama doesn’t turn water into wine.

With the ridiculous amount of hype given to Obama, the fact that Saxby Chambliss has won in a landslide is a sign that America is having buyer’s regret in regards to Obama. They’re not confident in his decisionmaking skills or his vision. By the time 2012 rolls around, a majority of America will realize that Obama makes Bush look like Lincoln. Obama will be an awful President (while Bush is an above-average President who had a disappointing second term)

Obama’s support is a mile wide and an inch deep. A lot of Obama supporters will abandon him when he has a bad term and an aggressive opponent who doesn’t fight with one arm behind his/her back.

It’s just a matter of finding a fighter, and not someone who drifts to the left. Remember, if you drive and drift too far to the left, you get hit head-on.

I don’t believe either Martin or the independent candidate would have gotten nearly as many votes if Saxby had stood firm on free market principals and not supported HR1424.

Yes, I understand for the most part Saxby has a very solid conservative record. However, he failed us on arguably one of the most important votes on the Senate floor in recent memory.

Given the number of moderates left on the Right I don’t think the liberals running congress will have too much trouble convincing some to ‘reach across the isle’ in the spirit of grabbing more pork so the Liberal Agenda will pass. Saxby’s seat will not be the firewall it was billed as, I don’t think, and I lament that fact. I am, I believe, rooted in reality there, but feel free to disagree with me. We’ll have the next two years to see how things play out.

Oh, I do live in Georgia, and by way of full disclosure I voted for Martin in an attempt to illustrate my displeasure with Mr. Chamblis ignoring my repeated messages he not support the bailout. I am at once happy and disapointed. I am happy there will be at least 41 Republicans in the senate, but I am sad that Mr. Chamblis may not have learned anything from his close call and as such may choose to ignore his constituents when the next test of character arises. I wonder…

And probably voting machine errors. This needs to be dealt with by the Senate. They should refuse to seat Chambliss until every ballot is examined.

Count every vote! And count Democrats votes twice. Unless you need to count them three times.

Runoffs are all about turnout, and conservatives actually turned out today in greater numbers than Dems did, which is more than I can say for a few weeks ago.

Wait, this just in from the media: Palin had NOTHING to do with turning out conservatives, but had Chambliss lost, it definately would have been Palin’s fault.

I think they also want to blame Palin for all the votes being found in Minnesota for Franken too.

The media will never understand America.

It was good to walk in and vote for Chambliss without the Nov 4th line in a blue precinct; the GA Dems deserve somebody more photogenic than Martin.

Now time to make a minority contract with America. Lol
