Very effective ad, if they actually play this thing, its going to scare a lot of people about Obama. The truth about the guy is scary, and that ad really captures it.

I live in northern VA and saw it last night on TV. I can’t remember if it was Fox or Discovery because we were flipping between the two.

Glad to see McCain is starting to fight for this election.

At this point web ads are useless. The MSM are making a concerted effort not to give “free air” to the McCain campaign. Surely the McCain campaign or a 527 can afford to play this nationally for a week1

when he was working with the Ayers family.

Many of the old hippies are thrilled that Barack has been influenced by The Weathermen and other socialist and Marxist mentors. At the end, the announcer says that the issue is not Obama’s friendship with Ayers, but rather Obama’s judgment. No, the issue is that this indicates that Obama is also a radical leftist regardless of what he says. It also indicates that Obama is still listening to Ayers.

Right. And to this day Ayers has never, ever apologized. He is proud of what he and his group did. You can protest all you want but, the fact is you are friends with someone who remains proud that he tried to kill his fellow Americans.

You may think what he did was a mistake, reprehensible–but Ayers doesn’t think so. And that’s something you’d never tell him to his face.

Man when the video zooms over and closer to Obama, and then the voice over changes and you suddenly detect ANGER in her voice when she says ‘WHERE’S THE TRUTH OBAMA?”.

I don’t think it is enough to just call them friends. I think political allies is a more accurate description. I just watched the Murtagh piece from Fox. I follow things pretty closely and even I was not aware that Bernadine Dohrn worked at the same law firm with Michele Obama. Wasn’t Ayers at Columbia the same time Obama was?

This whole mosaic with Ayers and ACORN and the Panther 21 and the 60s all fits together too nicely if you ask me. I think Obama is a stealth candidate hand picked by the most radical elements in the American left to take over our government. What is shocking is how easy they are doing it and how close they are to getting away with it. By running on a “Change!” mantle, they will be getting carte blanche to implement whatever screwy ideas they have whether it be in foriegn affairs, education, or the economy. And another thought- I wonder what Mayor Daley’s father (The first mayor Daley) would think about his son’s endorsement of Ayers as a wonderful teacher. This is a game-changer! This election is all about Obama. When Mccain trots out his bipartisan accomplishments, it makes me sick. Voters don’t care if your friendly with Ted Kennedy.

If I could change one thing about the ad, I would try to make a comparison of Ayers to Timothy McVeigh.

Let’s assume this sort of thing works and John McCain is elected our next President. He will have to face fairly large Democratic majorities in both Houses of Congress in 2009. What are the odds his legislative agenda goes anywhere, anywhere at all, after this strategy? I know he’s been disliked hereabouts for his willingness to work with Democrats (campaign finance, immigration, etc), but do you really think those same Senators will work with him again?

I understand you folks want to win, and I take no issue with that. I just wonder if anybody realizes that this will make getting anything done pretty freaking difficult. Yes, I am well aware of the benefits of divided government and gridlock and so forth. When things are working reasonably well it’s a bad thing to have a federal government that can’t change things too much. Given Senator McCain’s legislative agenda will have to get through a Democratic Congress that watched this campaign with rapt attention, how much can he conceivably get done? How many of the sorts of judges you guys want on the bench can he get confirmed?

Interesting if somewhat misleading video (you’ll notice that ENRON played in the initial part of the clip and has nothing to do with the S+L crisis, amongst other misleading/innocuously placed items). It was stupid of McCain to become involved in this…however, he was friends with Keating. And, he learned his lesson. In any case, some things that were left out of the video that you need to know. McCain and John Glenn (yes, the astronaut) were both cleared. “Senators John Glenn and John McCain were cleared of having acted improperly but were criticized for having exercised “poor judgment”.” And even, the Committee’s lawyer felt they were unfairly punished in the situation.
“The Senate Ethics Committee ruled that the involvement of Glenn in the scheme was minimal, and the charges against him were dropped.” Keating Five

However, John McCain was still apologetic about getting embroiled in this situation.

Additionally, if you believe that Obama should make you feel outraged over the Keating Five scandal, and his judgement, why then does Obama have John Glenn on the stump for him? Remember, John Glenn was also investigated and “the charges against him were dropped.” So, the Keating Five video is
hypocritical.

Also, notice that Obama has not apologized for his connections to Ayers and has tried to cover up his linkage with Ayers by stating Ayers was “just a neighborhood friend”. Not good, as we now know that Ayers launched Obama’s bid for Senate and was on the same committee with Ayers. They had deep ties. And his ties with the Democrat organization ACORN (now under investigation or indicted in 15 states for voter fraud) is not good either.

McCain needs to come up with something new about the economic crisis. I don’t know if his recent housing proposal is it, or if its something else, but he needs to be talking more about it.

Maybe your town is different than mine, but right now word of mouth is 100% the economy. I know McCain wants change the subject, but right now that’s almost impossible.

If he focuses his campaign on ayers et al, he opens himself up to accusations of being out-of-touch on the economy. Economic issues aren’t polling well for him, but given current events, I just don’t think he can effectively change the subject.

Hi, I’m a busy mom of teens trying to start a new business to help the local economy (great timing, heh?) so pardon me if I am repeating something that was said already…

Today, home resting after a medical procedure, I dared to put on the VIEW (as if I didn’t feel crappy enough already). I won’t waste time talking about how brainwashed those women are. How Elizabeth Hasselhof can’t stand it I don’t know. Anyway, cut to the chase, when Elizabeth mentioned Obama’s shady past contacts, the comment was made that no one is perfect, McCain included, referencing the Keating 5 I’m sure. Anyway, Elizabeth said to list the contacts and questionable issues (my wording) for the two men side by side and I thought, literally, that ought to be done. Any idea where to best suggest that?

Also, again, pardon my limited political knowledge, but wasn’t the swift boat thing that “sunk” John Kerry spearheaded by a group besides Bush’ election committee? Meaning, couldn’t the needed pushing for answers on Obama’s character and integrity be spearheaded by a group besides the Elect McCain committee so that they can focus on the issues of the economy and the rest of MCain’s platform for his candidacy… Also, such an effort could even point out how people who have nothing to hide should provide answers to the questions directed to them. Lastly, character, integrity, trust and honesty, these are traits I continually read are vital to a successful entrepreneur and leader… Vital to our president as well…This too should be stressed. Indeed, no one is perfect, but honesty and transparency and even regret for past mistakes should all be expected.

Any suggestions for websites to post these suggestions on would be appreciated. It’s the least I can do.

p.s. I’ve heard that Obama wrote a recommendation for Ayer’s book in 1999 or 2000 (i.e. when he was older than 8)… I clipping of that recommendation along with Ayer’s quotes from 2001 that he wished he had done more to harm the US would be quite effective, in my opinion.

What is needed to expose Obama is the revelation of the truth that Obama campaigned for cousin Odinga in kenya, in person, on the ground.

When Cousin odinga lost the first election his supporters rioted. They herded the Christians into churches and burned them alive.

Obama again made a “flat out lie” when he said that Ayers have already repented from his old ways. It seems that Ayers’ business of terrorism, socialism and communism is growing and spreading in Latin America.

Not surprising, since Boudin’s grandfather is Fidel Castro’s personal attorney, and his mother is jailed Weather Underground terrorist Kathy Boudin. His family ties give him street cred to communists.

Bill Ayers is therefore a much bigger and more relevant socio-political issue to Obama as compared to Obama’s tie with Rev. Wright.
