First off, there are two parts to the slam. The first part is “are educated”, the second is “have a class consciousness.” Now as this is a logical OR operation, that is if either of the two points is true the statement is true.

The easiest proof is from the “have a class consciousness” point. This statement can take many forms, but all of them are indicative of a Marxist philosophy. Marxists are all fools, even if some of them are bloodthirsty jackals who are good at killing people, like the left’s favorite icon, Che. You dropped that part in your reply.

The “are educated” part is a bit more complex. ‘Educated’ has meant different things to different people at different times. Aristotle believe the purpose of education was to indoctrinate students into the habits which would make them good citizens. Another common definition of the word is someone who is learned, that is, they have memorized a fair number of established facts about a reasonable cross-section of academic topics, and have learned how to logically reason from those facts. Around the time our country was being settled, most education was being done by churches. A prevalent theological argument was that if you taught people the common facts and how to reason they would reason their way to God. So they applied this second definition of educated. This therefore tends to be the way most Americans think of the term. However, around the time of John Dewy, the focus started to shift back toward the Aristotelean definition. With the ascendancy of the hard left-communist professariate and the advent of the NEA controlled primary school system, indoctrination into the ways of good citizen ship is now the primary purpose of ‘education.’ Despite that fact, some of us have still continued to learn. Our attitude is summed up by a button that was popular at sf conventions many years ago (maybe even still): Never let your education interfere with your learning. Anybody who completes the kind of education our schools currently provide and never grows out of it is a fool.

So this is the best OR of all, because both parts are true and anybody who has been educated and has a class consciousness is a fool.

I am so disappointed to see how some of you are behaving on this blog. As a undecided voter this is very much a turn off! I have registered on many of the different blog sites but have read nothing so negative as these comments! I do beleive some of you are giving christan Republicans a bad name! It just seems like sme of you are so scared of losing that you’re resulting to such lack of respect for a different point of view. I have family and friends of both politcal backgrounds and would never speak in such a hateful tone!! If McCain and Palin share these hateful views of liberals theirs no way he will get my vote. CLEAN IT UP!!!!!!!
