It's 10AM. Inside Obama Headquarters, a phone is ringing. Obama tells his staff to deal with it.

... 5 months later, in the Whitehouse...

It's 3AM. Inside the Whitehouse, a phone is ringing. Iran has just launched a nuclear attach on Israel.

Statement form the Obama campaign:
"Today, Ahmadinejad the dictator of a small, insignificant nation that presents zero threat to our national security, has come within a heartbeat of an American nuclear attack."

... 4 hours later...

President Obama holds a press briefing:
"You have to understand that my staff has ...ummmm... had an...err... hair trigger as it related to responding to world issues. President Ahmadinejad is a fine person and I urge both Iran and Israel to show restraint in this crisis."

... 3 days later...

President Obama holds a press briefing:
"As I have always said, I oppose aggression and I...uummmm... hope that President Ahmadinejad will begin an immediate stop to all missiles currently headed into Israel. I will recommend to the UN Security Council that Russia stop supplying Iran with any more weapons and will work with our European allies in the hope that we can come to some peaceful understanding."

Sen. Obama is running away from his record, and he is running away from his staff. His campaign is running against Pres. Bush, and now it and its fellow travellers are running against Gov. Palin, too.

He must have lost the memo advising him that he is supposed to be running against Sen. McCain.

Blaming his staff is really crummy behavior. If the staff is genuinely screwing up then it's his fault for not hiring, training, and managing them properly. Anyone with supervisory experience understands one of the first rules is that praise is given in public and criticism is best delivered in private.

If the staff is not screwing up then he's unjustly blaming other people for his own faults. That's despicable. It's not like folks depending upon him for a paycheck and committed to his party are really in a position to speak up to defend themselves.

Obama touts his time as a "community organizer" as part of his relevant experience for the Presidency. Then in the linked article we learn:

And at the Las Vegas debate, Obama said he relies on his staff to neutralize his disorganization, which he said was his greatest weakness.

“I ask my staff never to hand me paper until two seconds before I need it, because I will lose it,” he said, drawing laughter from the audience. “I've got to have somebody around me who is keeping track of that stuff. And that's not trivial; I need to have good people in place who can make sure that systems run. That's what I've always done, and that's why we run not only a good campaign but a good U.S. Senate office.”

Great. What kind of community organizer was he if poor organizational skills are his greatest weakness?
