How to reduce government spending (and fix the economy) in one easy step:
1) “NO DEAL”. Representative Boehner and the Republicans in Congress hold a press conference and state the following:
“The debt ceiling was put in place for a reason. Instead of mindlessly increasing it, we are going to require ‘President’ Obama to do his job and prioritize remittances. The American people can decide whether he does a good job of it next November. In the meantime we will continue to pass budgets which both reflect the realities of current tax receipts and respect the need of the American people to be relieved from the burdens of a bloated and intrusive government. God Bless America.”

Only real cure to this problem-TAX
mrlord4459 Sunday, July 31st at 9:21PM EST (link)Tax, tax, tax and then tax some more. Raise EVERYONE’s taxes enough to cover the deficit. Make sure to include Social Security tax increase on everyone.
Within six months of these taxes- the outcry and rage and resentment over ignorant government spending and overreach will practically put an immediate stop to it all.
We have spent $15Trillion without anyone: rich or poor, lobbyist, welfare recipient, spending parasite, or politician paying one dime. Why would there be any REAL support for restraint-no one has ever had to pay. It has been a nice game- The poor get welfare, the connected get subsidies, the lobbyist get to broker the deals and the politicians get elected. If someone had to actually pay then………?????
Withholding
MNConservative (Diary) Sunday, July 31st at 9:47PM EST (link)Most likely, simply removing the withholding system would wake people up to how much they really paying.
Greatest Comprise since 1850 - and just as bad.

Expose the parasites.
Here is a quote from the Washington Post on winners in the deal.
President Obama: The president needed a deal of some sort to prove that he was capable of making the government work — even if it took until the eleventh (and a half) hour to strike the compromise. Liberals are likely to be deeply unhappy about the nature of the deal, which includes no increases in taxes or revenue. But remember that Obama’s target constituency in 2012 is not his base but rather independent and moderate voters. And those fence-sitters love compromise in almost any form. – By Chris Cillizza,
I think that says it all. Or for those of you who voted for Boehner as speaker of the house let me translate. If the deal fails President Obama looks like he can’t make government work. Here is another thing you need to remember, Obama has never made ANTHING WORK! He is nothing more than a professional gadfly. Once the deal falls apart and Obama is tasked for restoring the government his true level of incompetence will be exposed.
