when I was younger I was often attracted to liberal women who were at least intelligent because I enjoyed the mental sparring. I guess I can say it was not just women, I enjoyed a nice battle. Now some would say, the Doc just likes to argue, and they may be right. But I thought it was just that I liked a challenge, I got bored with people that agreed with me all the time.

I think now politics has become so divisive, hateful, and important that there are fewer opportunities to enjoy a little tete a tete with a political opponent. The left has allowed their politics to so consume their lives that they can not step outside and get on with a person just as a human being. Maybe this is only in wonky circles but it sure seems that way.

I do think Beckel has another side as does Sean. Sean once talked about how Bob helps a lot of struggling alcoholics. He said that Bob would get up at 3am if needed to help some regular guy alcoholic if he needed it.

I think there are still some people who are reasonable and have not yet decided that everyone who is not a lib is unworthy as a person. I think the time when we all at least had something of a shared culture was when it was better.
