From the diaries by Caleb.
It’s pretty well known that I’m no particular fan of Governor Palin’s candidacy in 2012. For lots of reasons, none of which matter with respect to this diary.
While I’ve long been skeptical of her as a candidate, I’ve never wavered from my position that she can do three things right now, is positioned and gifted to do all of them well, and she will make a big contribution to the effort to change the face of Washington DC in November.
1. She’s well connected on social media and is an articulate bomb thrower. See “death panels”.
2. She’s good at throwing red meat to the base and getting them focused. She also drives the enemy berserk.
3. She can raise money like nobody’s business.
So, today I see a reference to her SarahPac Facebook page, I go there and what do I find but this…

Bottom line, she’s targeting 20 Democratic CongressSlugs™ in November. And the graphics are fantastic. More on that in a minute. Keep reading.
We’re paying particular attention to those House members who voted in favor of Obamacare and represent districts that Senator John McCain and I carried during the 2008 election. Three of these House members are retiring – from Arkansas’s 2nd district, Indiana’s 8th district, and Tennessee’s 6th district – but we’ll be working to make sure that those who replace them are Commonsense Conservatives. The others are running for re-election, and we’re going to hold them accountable for this disastrous Obamacare vote. They are: Ann Kirkpatrick (AZ-1), Harry E. Mitchell (AZ-5), Gabrielle Giffords (AZ-8), John Salazar (CO-3), Betsy Markey (CO-4). Allen Boyd (FL-2), Suzanne M. Kosmas (FL-24), Baron P. Hill (IN-9), Earl Pomeroy (ND-AL), Charlie Wilson (OH-6), John Boccieri (OH-16), Kathy Dahlkemper (PA-3), Christopher Carney (PA-10), John M. Spratt, Jr. (SC-5), Tom Perriello (VA-5), Alan B. Mollohan (WV-1), and Nick J. Rahall II (WV-3).
I’m especially pleased to see three Arizona seats on that list.
So, Governor Palin is going to funnel cash – and hopefully appearances – in those races. I think it’s important that she shows up in those districts because as she notes, McCain/Palin won each of those districts in ’08. The faithful need to be motivated and the candidates need cash. She can provide both of those.
Oh, and for the “driving the enemy berserk” part, just ask Mr. Google.
My personal favorite would have to be the Anchorage Daily News. Wow Art, I get an idea of what you’ve been saying for so long about these moonbats…
“RELOAD!” Sarah Palin shouted at right-wing supporters via Twitter on Tuesday after President Obama signed the House health care bill. On her Facebook page, she posted a U.S. map with crosshair targets in states where she’s planning to campaign against moderate Democrats who voted in favor of the health insurance overhaul. “We’ll aim for these races,” she wrote, in the “first salvo” leading up to the midterm elections. A few liberal commentators don’t find that kind of rhetoric amusing.
Rob Kezelis, Capitol Hill Blue: Honestly, where in any decent, civilized society is there room for Sarah’s latest tweet, “Don’t retreat, RELOAD!”? While some may dismiss that as silly rhetoric, or even humor, it is anything but. One only has to recall some of the weirder moments during the last presidential campaign, especially the Sarah Palin rallies. Some of those people were not only whacked-out, conspiracy nuts, they were more than willing to take “justice” as they define it, and use whatever means necessary to achieve it, including violence. And they are armed.
You really, really, really need to follow the link and read the whole thing. These people need Thorazine.
So, in conclusion, remembering that this is NOT about whether Governor Palin should be President but that she’s making a great contribution to the rout in November. Thank you Sarah, and RELOAD!!!

Michael Steele better deliver elections
Chris Chatham (Diary) Thursday, March 25th at 11:35PM EST (link)If the RNC tries to feed off of the grass roots and not try to dictate it 2010 and 2012 will be glorious and if it’s not just remember, that the biggest goals that RNC and DNC is to motivate the base raise money and win elections. If psychopath Howard Dean can deliver election victoriess just imagine what Sarah Palin could do.
Michael Steele could not even deliver a viable website...
rcov092 (Diary) Friday, March 26th at 8:54AM EST (link)and he spent big money on that. At best it represents his hip-hop vision of the party and it is designed to feed Voter Vault which is the Democrats biggest advantage over us. I am degreed in Computer Information Systems and I will tell you this…if you are a candidate running for office and the RNC offers you the use of voter vault, look them in the eye and ask them why they are trying to defeat you.
We in Florida are starting to use new technology that leap frogs us into parity with the DNC. But then this was a private market solution built by field operatives that actually know how elections are run on the ground. The RNC built voter vault for one reason and one reason only.. to raise money for the RNC. Not happy with that they sold it and leased it back. Now no one really cares about it any more and based on my experience using it in the last election, it does more to damage the party that to help it.
The new website shows me nothing of what it needs to be in terms of helping us win elections. What a waste.

Vic Snyder is a coward
DerKrieger (Diary) Thursday, March 25th at 11:52PM EST (link)Snyder is a coward.
In 2008 his only opponent was a Green Party candidate and he won 77% of the vote.
In 2006 he got 61%
In 2004 he got 58%
In 2002 he ran unopposed
in 2000 he got 58%
in 1998 he got 52.3%
He’s a coward because he didn’t have the courage to vote with his constituents and against Nancy Pelosi and he’s a coward for deciding to retire rather than stay and run for reelection and defend his vote. He’s won all of his campaigns in a walk, and actually increased his vote share with each election cycle, and has had it too easy for too long. Now when things are about the get tough for him he runs away.
He’s sponsored only three bills in the thirteen years he’s been in Congress and none have passed. He ranks only 412 out of 440 on sponsoring new bills. I’m not saying we need any more bills but this displays more laziness than a belief in small government.
He’s only cosponsored 205 which ranks him 295 out of 440 members. Again, more laziness.
He votes with Nancy 97% of the time.
If you wonder where he gets his liberalism well, he’s originally from Oregon.

wardjh Friday, March 26th at 2:47PM EST (link)She has proved she has talent in three other political jobs. Even if you consider her average just consider, she is better than Biden – the job she ran for, and she certainly is better than Obama – check his track record.
In this case she is right on the mark, with the right ammo for the right job. She even shows loyalty by supporting McCain.
If she did nothing else but rile up the left, well the cardio-vascular is probably good for them.
I don't understand comparisons
aesthete (Diary) Friday, March 26th at 4:19PM EST (link)with candidates on the left, except in matters of campaigning and politicking. Of course Palin is better than Obama and Biden — I would be ashamed if she weren’t! Virtually all of the candidates on the GOP side are, far and away, qualitatively better than Obama, if for no other reason than that they are operating under an ideological system that more closely matches the real world than ObamaDems’ worldview. So even if Obama were a competent administrator/”decider” (he isn’t), he would still be troublingly saddled with that worthless ideology of his.
Palin’s executive accomplishments weren’t particularly conservative or successful, and since she bailed on the Governorship, we will probably not see her in an executive position again (unless she’s nominated by a Republican to chair something). But that is besides the point: she’s doing a great job right now at what she does best, and is using her political talents to help us in 2010. In that, she is the case study of a good Republican politician. We can argue and worry about 2012 when it is important and relevant.

A presidency based on conservative values, free market capitalism and American ingenuity. Not to mention her great attitude.

merryj1 Friday, March 26th at 6:43AM EST (link)I think this page & graphic of Sarah’s was shown on Fox last night (could’ve been on O’Reilly), with a leftist alarmist touting the Dem Talking Point du jur about “Republicans inciting violence.” It seems the terms “battleground” and (gasp!) “reload” are now code words to summon us knuckle-dragging gang-bangers out to threaten and intimidate all those peaceful, upright Democrat congress-critters. Who knew?
It’s simply unreal that they’ve gone batty with all those “threat” reports: I’ve heard two phone messages — one to the Michigan “pro-life” until-he-wasn’t (Stupek?) rep, and one other one — both calls were rude and juvenile, but neither one was a threat (Stupek’s: “I hope you die” and the other one “…when you had your accident, you should have broken your back”). Again, not nice, but wishing ill on someone does not rise to the “threat” level of even vowing to stick pins into a voodoo doll likeness.

The gut feeling that J.D. Hayworth is a better more conservative, more trustworthy choice is right. Palin is now again his prop and shield he should not need IF he had the record.
McCain is not dependable when pressured. He is damaged goods well beyond the normal with multiple sellouts when needed most to stand strong against awful legislation. Now, when its EASY to run with the conservatives to get re-elected, we get the changed McCain. Be not fooled. The Amnesty-STIM man still lives inside him. Are we to forget those issues?
If you have any doubt just think of all those times when McCain did the exact hurtful wrong divisive thing AGAINST Republican conservative principles (and America). Do not think for a minute that he would not have done the same in 2009 or even now had the voter winds not changed a ton.
McCain ran a misguided sissy campaign against a no-achievement radical that gave us strident secular socialism.
Should we also just blow that off too?

1. Fair enough and ty for heads up. Not everyone can be a grumpy old blogger looking to pick fights year in and year out.
2. Focused as I am on the 2010 elections, I saw this diary as being about supporting replublicans against dems who voted for idiotcare. If you had taken the time to look at the links I posted you would see Romney’s people are also focused on supporting R’s in several states. Perhaps the misplaced word in my post was “already”.
3. Yeah see #2.

First of all, if you’re at all familiar with my postings you’d know that the comment above doesn’t even come close to “grumpy old blogger” material that I’m pretty well known for.
Second, there are more people than Palin promoting Congressional/Senate candidates. I highlighted Palin because I’ve been less than excited about her as a candidate and I think she’s doing good stuff here. As far as the other folks – like Romney and Pawlenty for two – I would like to see diaries on their efforts.
Third, as a rule of thumb, when you post a comment in a diary and simply tack in links with no context or even minimal commentary about what they are about don’t expect anybody to follow them. Just won’t happen. You’ve got to at the very least toss down a little tickler about the content.
And finally, if Romney is supporting and contributing to folks, you really should write a diary about it and put it in the context of his contribution to ’10. Same for TPaw or anybody else who’s making the effort to win this year.
This is a terrible comment. (nt)
