Preparing troops for battle.

Or not...

So this week TheBoyPresident™ goes to West Point to address the men who are going to be among the leaders of our Army in the next generation. If you watched the speech you could arguably make the case that they probably don’t trust him a whole lot based on the looks on the faces of the officers sitting behind him on the dais and the reports circulating from relatives of the graduates about the very specific orders the graduates were given about making sure their reception was appropriately “warm”.

Given that the bulk of the speech was given over to lying about his predecessor and attempting to justify sending significantly less than half of the troops the field commander requested while letting the terrorists know that if they could just hold out in the caves a tad longer they wouldn’t have to worry about the US military desecrating their country, I can understand why a bright young man who is about to put his butt on the line might be concerned about the quality, the commitment and the intentions of the civilian leadership under which he serves.

Yesterday Andy McCarthy wrote in NRO about TBP™’s priorities for our military and their training.

It’s been brought to my attention by several reliable sources that the Defense Department has brought Louay Safi to Fort Hood as an instructor, and that he has been lecturing on Islam to our troops in Fort Hood who are about to deploy to Afghanistan. Safi is a top official of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), and served as research director at the International Institute of Islamic Thought (IIIT).

[snip]

ISNA was identified by the Justice Department at the Holy Land Foundation terrorism financing conspiracy trial as an unindicted co-conspirator. The defendants at that trial were convicted of funding Hamas to the tune of millions of dollars. This should have come as no surprise. ISNA is the Muslim Brotherhood’s umbrella entity for Islamist organizations in the United States. It was established in 1981 to enable Muslims in North America “to adopt Islam as a complete way of life” — i.e., to further the Brotherhood’s strategy of establishing enclaves in the West that are governed by sharia. As I detailed in an essay for the April 20 edition of NR, the Brotherhood’s rally-cry remains, to this day, “Allah is our objective. The Prophet is our leader. The Koran is our law. Jihad is our way. Dying in the way of Allah is our highest hope.” The Brotherhood’s spiritual guide, Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi, who issued a fatwa in 2004 calling for attacks on American forces in Afghanistan, openly declares that Islam will “conquer America” and “conquer Europe.”

Also established in 1981, the IIIT is a Saudi funded think-tank dedicated, it says, to the “Islamicization of knowledge” — which, Zeyno Baran (in Volume 6 of the Hudson Institute’s excellent series, “Current Trends in Islamist Ideology”) has aptly observed, “could be a euphemism for the rewriting of history to support Islamist narratives.” Years ago, the Saudis convinced the United States that the IIIT should be the military’s go-to authority on Islam. One result was the placement of Abdurrahman Alamoudi to select Muslim chaplains for the armed forces. Alamoudi has since been convicted of terrorism and sentenced to 23 years in federal prison.

Please go over to NRO and read all of Andy’s piece, this is just the tip of the iceberg.

So, Congress has time to investigate head injuries in pro football, but they can’t find the time to pay attention the indoctrination of our military prior to their deployment into a war zone. This is time that should be spent on the range or in tactical exercises.

Posting rules and my personal respect for at least one Muslim who posts here are preventing me from expressing how I really feel about this. Suffice it to say that neither Franz nor HappyBunny are pleased with this development. I used a copy of Andy’s story as cave liner for TheBunny and he noted the following for TheBoy™…

That’s about the best I can do.

Oh, and follow the links in Andy’s article if you want to have blood pressure any where near as high as mine.

Bad things can happen if you go into battle with poor leadership.

For a while now, I’ve been attempting to develop commentary for this item (and many other things similar in nature), that at the same time would be meaningful, but yet include a little bit of my usual snarkified thoughts.

However, since the terrorist attack on Ft. Hood, each and every time I commence writing an opinion regarding events, articles and fact-based items covering any aspect of terrorism combined with the current administrations responses, attitudes and policies, within two or three sentences, I end up in tears for our nation and sometimes become enraged to the point of “reaching for steel”, so I simply take a deep breath and back off…… reserving my ‘venting’ for the range…… which is why you haven’t seen me around much lately.

Seems to be working quite nicely, especially for my being relaxed.

But my gut instinct says our current administration is barely at the tip of the iceberg when it comes to dhimmitude, jizya and overall appeasement. Watch the SeAL’s trial closely, contrasted with the NYC terror trial…… these may end up being example-setters for things to come.

Maybe later tonight, I’ll set up a new multi-topic diary with links. Haven’t done that in a bit and for me, it’s a nice way to have additional verbal ammo in the building battle called “see, we told you so”.

I’ll toss a preview here……..

Hey, did anybody hear about the going’s on in Melbourne Australia this weekend ? No ? Somehow I knew that would be the case…… Picture one of those “Coexist” bumper stickers…… Know what that’s all about ?…….. Try this: “The Parliament Of World Religions”.

—————

One last quick thing: The terrorist who attacked Ft. Hood killed 14 – not 13 – somebody better start reporting that itty-bitty fact.

OK then, I’m off to see my parents in the nursing home, then to the pub for watching my Dolphins throw up all over their shoes again.

Cheers !
