And he takes the appropriate attitude - I'm going to say what needs to be said, because this is a time of crucial decisions for our nation. It's no time to play politics, but rather stand up for the principles that made us great.

Maybe he could give Eric Cantor an education. He voted Present on the Pay for Performance act. Says his wife would be affected. But she would probably have been affected by 90% tax on bonuses that he already voted for. Truth were told, he's trying to side with the populist anger against the rich, rather than be on record standing up for free market principles.

I wonder if he put "Cult of Personality" on the Ipod he gave the Queen?

Look into my eyes, what do you see?
Cult of personality
I know your anger, I know your dreams
Ive been everything you want to be
Im the cult of personality
Like mussolini and kennedy
Im the cult of personality
Cult of personality
Cult of personality

Neon lights, a nobel prize
The mirror speaks, the reflection lies
You dont have to follow me
Only you can set me free
I sell the things you need to be
Im the smiling face on your t.v.
Im the cult of personality
I exploit you still you love me

I tell you one and one makes three
Im the cult of personality
Like joseph stalin and gandi
Im the cult of personality
Cult of personality
Cult of personality

Neon lights a nobel prize
A leader speaks, that leader dies
You dont have to follow me
Only you can set you free

You gave me fortune
You gave me fame
You me power in your gods name
Im every person you need to be
Im the cult of personality

First, Obama and many Democrats supported and continue to support the public ownership of companies, including their capital, aka means of production. Examples include Fannie/Freddie, the largest banks, GM, and every other corporation whose shares are partially owned by the U.S. government and therefore the public. Therefore, Obama et al. are obviously not capitalist, but are likely socialist/Marxist and are gradually enacting their vision bit by bit.

Marxism entails the abolition of private property, and in so far as Obama et al are increasing public ownership at the expense of private ownership of property, their actions are correctly considered Marxist even though the goal of complete elimination of private property has not (yet) been achieved.

That said, it is possible that Obama is, strictly speaking, neither pure Marxist nor pure capitalist, but fascist. The distinction is that while capitalism aims for both ownership and control of property to remain in private hands, and Marxism aims for ownership and control of property in public hands for the sake of the worker class, fascism entails government ownership and control of property for the sake of the State. The difference, then, is that Marxism rests on the cult of the proletariat, and fascism rests on the cult of the State, where the object of cult worship displaces God.

I tend to think Obama is more Marxist/socialist, but that he is not above using fascist means to get to his Marxist goal because the nationalistic cult of the State is mistaken for patriotism and can get him votes from people who get all warm and fuzzy at the thought of America-uber-alles. But it's possible that he's fascist.

But he certainly is not capitalist. Get it?

about the similarities and the origins of Fascism and socialism I recommend a book, "Neither Right nor Left" by Zeev Sternhell

He explains that pre-fascist and nazi thought came right our of socialism and was used as a way to overcome some of the inherent contradictions of socialism which had already become evident just a few decades after Marx's first work.

Both result in high body counts, great misery for the general populace, and short life expectancy for the leaders.

Our best hope is that fractiousness (rooted in differences over starting points) and ego clashes wins out over their efficiency in time to keep them from gaining control. That happened in the early 70's with the radical left - but today they're running a tighter ship and have just about taken over the Federal government already.

I'm lazy, and I'll happily accept it when an adversary does his own oppo research.

So the Obama administration, with the full cooperation of the Democrat-dominated Congress, is busy taking over actual ownership of a number of the major finance organs, plus GM, and you cite Encarta's definition of Marxism as : the system of socialism of which the dominant feature is public ownership of the means of production, distribution, and exchange.

You very well defining Marxism. What you fail at is in not putting the equal sign ( '=') between Obama and Marxism. Not to mention that Obama makes no secret of his dedication to Alinsky, which is also uncut Marxism.

The only difference is the scope. Marxism strives for global institution of government control over the institutions of production, while fascism limits it to the existing nation states. The methods used are identical.

Where the government had ultimate control over corporations: what they produced, how they produce them and would replace the head when they didn't run it in a way the government wanted. But since fascism was a child of socialism, it's still a Marxist action.

. . . Obammy and Congress certainly demonstrates the cluelessness in which you wallow. Your statement was attacked in the beginning.
It's always the "Help, they're attacking me personally" argument, instead of arguing on the issues from you people.

So tiresome.

But I had to give up when you used the word "Marxist."

Marxism is the antithesis of capitalism which is defined by Encarta as “an economic system based on the private ownership of the means of production and distribution of goods, characterized by a free competitive market and motivation by profit.” Marxism is the system of socialism of which the dominant feature is public ownership of the means of production, distribution, and exchange.

He also mentions why he supported Obama. Basically, he wanted to give the GOP some time in the desert to re-think where they were headed. I disagree with that strategy, but it's understandable.

... It sickens me to ay that my own American Conservative leadership has been so vapid and inept, that the best politician I have seen enunciate my feelings about what our government doing right now, is not even an American. It is a British MEP, Mr Hannan. Gosh how do we get him to move here, or at least visit here and give our republican cowards a lesson on how to speak to the Democrats and our own main stream media.

Gosh, where is our Mr Hannan?

thinks about this?

Oh, right, The United Kingdom is just another country. Never mind.

Would love to see a matchup between TOTUS and Mr. Hannan. Probably won't happen though 'cause Mr. Hannan is actually a leader as opposed to a hack basketball-playing politician.

If he were to come to the US to a tea party he should come to Maine. For a couple of reasons...first I am running a tea party and secondly Maine is the home to two of the Republican turn-coats.
