Hat tip to the guys at PowerLine…
So, Senator Obama wants us to think he represents “Kansas Values” rather than Chicago Machine Politics.
PowerLine notes that Vincent Flynn has drafted a response to Obama’s new ad:
I’m John McCain and I approve this ad
(Clip of Obama ad)
Bob Dole: I just saw this Barack Obama ad and I just don’t believe it.
(Backround: Midwestern agrarian scenes)
Let’s be clear. I was born in Kansas. I went to school in Kansas. I served the people of Kansas as their Senator.
I’ve spent a lifetime being proud of the people of Kansas and their values.
And Senator Obama, you just don’t have Kansas values.
I know one man who does have the values of the heartland….faith, courage, honesty and patriotism.
That’s my friend John McCain and I’m proud to support him for President.
This is an excellent and very powerful response to BO’s obfuscating lies about who he is. It will also preempt his choice of the current Kansas governor as his running mate.
Please Senator McCain, please RNC, take the gloves off and beat this lying SOB (with apologies to momma doggies) like the cheap drum he is.
Senator McCain, you’ve repeatedly said that you want to focus on issues. I would say to you that BO’s bad character (not lack of character), his consistent bad judgment, and the fact that he will say anything – and your friends in the media will let him get away with it – ARE the major issues in this campaign.
We need a President we can believe. We need a President who loves his country and will do what’s best for it, not a man who surrounds himself with aging domestic terrorists, racists and people who will believe any mootbat theory as long as it makes the US look bad.
Take the gloves off Senator. You’ve fought for your country in the past. The stakes are higher today than they’ve ever been. Winning the battle has never been more critical. We are in a war. I know you know that. Our military can take care of the foreign enemies, but only if we have a President who is willing to take on – and defeat – our domestic enemies. Barack Obama and the elected Democrats in Washington DC are not “your friends”, they are aligned with our foreign enemies. Please sir, take off the gloves and take the fight to them. And win.

Kansas Values While They Last
spc Saturday, July 12th at 12:30PM EST (link)I hope that more and more Republicans, conservatives, and anyone else who believes in America gets with the program. These liberal American haters have taken over the media and the democratic party and a bunch of Rhinos have joined them.
The values that made America great are quickly being sold out in the name of political correctness, fairness, and other socialists dreams. To make it worse, those of us that hold these values have been spun by the MSM into the evil ones.
The RNC, McCain, all the R’s in the House, Senate, and at the state level need to get these things front and center. Unfortunately, the MSM does not want to carry it so it will take work. But, it is important work that needs to get out.
I know so many lifelong democrats that are totally oblivious to the fact that their party has been hijacked by a bunch of Marxist American Haters. With the MSM behind them this group has been able to spin all the troubles that began with the Clinton’s fall onto President Bush and the Republicans. Facts don’t matter, just have the MSM spin it and repeat so often that the typical citizen believes it true.
This country must have a short attention span because the disaster of the Carter Administration is not that long ago. One doesn’t have to look too hard to see that Obama has the same tried and failed ideas that Carter used.
The gloves need to come off and our party needs to get the message out and call these people what they are. We will have to make a lot of noise because the MSM is blind to the obvious truth.
Preach it, Becker!

Nothing is more
mike_volpe (Diary) Sunday, July 13th at 10:10AM EST (link)annoying than Obama claiming mainstream values. He cut his teeth in Hyde Park in Chicago. Maybe outside my hometown that means nothing, but what it means is he cut his teeth in among the most radical places in the world. Why do you think he spent his first fundraising event at the home of a former domestic terrorist? It’s because that sort of thing is SOP in Chicago.
More than that, he ingratiated himself with the most radical and corrupt elements in the city and state. He may have been raised in Kansas but he spent his formative political years in the most radical place in the country, Hyde Park Chicago. Here is the real Barack Obama’s political upbringing…

Heh
Dan McLaughlin (Diary) Sunday, July 13th at 9:11PM EST (link)That was precisely my suggestion as well. Dole has the bigger national name recognition but Brownback is known to a lot of the folks who count as far as voting on values. Brownback – who has been on the Straight Talk Express since he left the race – is a guy who resonates with social conservatives (those who are politically active enough to have heard of him, at any rate) and is, in fact, almost synonymous with ‘values’

spainishirish (Diary) Monday, July 14th at 9:21AM EST (link)have to wait on the McCain campaign to get around to doing what *should *be done? mbauer (Diary) Monday, July 14th at 11:53AM EST (link)But to flip flop implies changing back and forth, not a one time change.
And over a career as long as his, of course you can pick actions out of context and call them reversals of position.
It’s different when you can come up with a list this long for Obama created in 2 short years of statements all aimed at what he plans to do when he becomes president.
You really should vote for Nader, then.

samcoastie (Diary) Tuesday, July 15th at 6:56AM EST (link)I think McCain’s choice to hold back on attacking Obama is outstanding strategy. Sadly, most of the country is far more aware of the goings on of A-Rod, Brinkley and Favre than any elected officials. Any attacks made by him now could not be repeated effectively after the conventions when people are actually paying attention. But I am so looking forward to seeing McCain fight. He doesn’t look good meek.

Language does evolve
The_Gadfly (Diary) Tuesday, July 15th at 11:41AM EST (link)and while flip-flop may have originally meant several (many?) times back and forth on the same issue, its usage in modern parlance indicates one who changes his position according to what polls best. Which is exactly what the radical leftist from Chicago is now doing: changing his announced positions to match the polling data so he can win the national election. After he’s won it, he’ll go back to the policies he advocated in the primaries.

Don't Even Dignify Him with Respect
buckeye (Diary) Tuesday, July 15th at 9:30PM EST (link)McCain should give BO the treatment Quayle received every day. McCain shouldn’t even dignify the idea a freshman senator with nothing of substance on his resume prior to the Senate is even worthy of the Office of President. It’s like one of the execs being made to debate the intern on how to run a major enterprise on a daily basis.
That and BO is a lying, radical, Marxist in centrist clothing. It’s time to take the gloves off and treat this clown like the arrogant punk he is. Attack his strength by going after the smug arrogance. Don’t even acknowledge him with respect. Lloyd Benston didn’t give Quayle an ounce of political respect and McCain shouldn’t give BO any. It’s an insult to McCains 20 years of active duty and 20 years in Congress to do otherwise.

arent those some great things though? I dont understand why people are against the gold standard? Maybe you can clarify this for me. Paper money seems to risky, i think we have less than 100 years in our country, before we set up another method of currency. Thats theoretical, however, gold and silver never debunk as being the foundation for value (in currency.)
The point on locking the borders, i have not heard of with this candidate. I do know, however, that he does not believe in forming alliances with other countries, as we (Americans,) Need no alliance, to remain strong, as long as we stand united. In his book, he talks about how people whom dont understand his foreign policy think of him as isolationist. He was very much the opposite. He believed in establishing good friendships, trade, and travel with all countries. Pauls main idea, is that we can lead the world by example, once we show them how we can be successful in our own country. However, we should never lock the borders, as this would prevent trade, travel, and friendship building.
