Since I started writing speeches more than ten years ago, I have always believed in the Democratic Party. Not anymore. Not after the election of 2008. This transformation has been swift and complete and since I’m a woman writing in the election of 2008, “very emotional.”

When I entered this campaign, it was at the 2006 Edwards staff Christmas party. My nametag read “Millie Worker.” When former Senator John Edwards read it, he laughed and said, “That makes you like my parent.” He went on to say, “Would you please come down to Chapel Hill so we can talk about what’s coming up.” I sat in John and Elizabeth’s living room for two and half hours. I left North Carolina, energized about politics for the first time in months.

Not only has this party belittled working people in this campaign, it has also been part of tearing down two female candidates.

I’m a small business owner and at the crossroads here. There’s a lot on my mind during this election.

I will expand my business in January, 2009 if McCain is elected by adding two new employees to the payroll. His tax plan will help my business. I’m confident that I’ll be able to plan and negotiate the economic woes even with adding two new employees. I won’t be as paranoid about keeping cash in the bank versus investing it into my business. I know that the economy will bounce back faster under McCain then Obama. You just can’t tax businesses during a slumping economy and expect growth.

I’m going to have to cut one employee if Obama is elected. His tax plan will hurt my business and consequently one employee. I also feel that his tax plan is going to put our economy into a very serious recession and dramatically harm America. My thought is that 2009 is probably going to be my last chance to earn and save as much as possible while riding out the economice woes that will come with an Obama Administration. Point blank – I need my cash in the bank to ride it out. Call me a cynic but part of being a successful business man is also being a realist.

Thus, I feel that cutting one employee will help the business survive through an Obama administration. It will also help the business survive. I can’t predict the future. I also don’t want to wait for water to swill around my ankles before admitting that I should have slowed the ship through iceberg-infested waters then maintaining normal speed.

The opinion among voters is that Obama is better suited to handle the economy. How is Obama, who business feels will damage their infrustructure and threaten jobs, more suited to address the economy? Any candidate who makes business pause from reinvestment and conserve on market principles is counterproductive to an economic rebound. Everyone needs to think about their familes and jobs because these two elements will be impacted the most by an Obama administration.

I hope that everyone understands that there are millions of other small business owners in America weighing the same options as me right now. This election for us is more then just personalities, flash, and bling. It’s about voting for the candidate who we think will help our employees keep their jobs while considering expansion.

These figures are only for Clark County, Nevada (Las Vegas). Democrats are showing 88,664 more registered ACTIVE voters between the 2004 (298,246) and 2008 (386,910) election. Republicans are only showing an increase of 6,710 (254,952 vs. 261,662). Independants are showing an increase of 22,933.

These figures make no sense to me and feel that part of it is due to the ACORN effect. I know that we had a large influx of California residents relocate to Nevada, explaining part of the large Democratic growth. However, most of the new residents came from Los Angeles, which is equally Republican as Democrat.

I voted today. They were very organized. They printed a sticker off of their database, made you sign by your name, and checked your ID AND address off of the registered voter list as “VOTED”. I don’t think that ACORN is going to pull off a scam here unless they have an internal operative, which I doubt. Our Secretary of State is Ross Miller, a Republican. Also, sleezy Jim Gibbons won here as our governor two years ago and he is a Republican.

I just donated $5.00 to Barack Obama PAST the donation deadline under the following information. I was curious if they had enough sense to put the fraud filters back into the donation page. Turns out they didn’t:

I watched a video below and saw they had a snapshot of a website that showed where Barack Obama, Bill Ayers, and Bernadine Dohrn spoke together at a conference. I was curious what that site was all about.

It carried quite an elitist tone and was coding its effort to promote socialism through intellectuals. You can see where Ayers and Obama spoke on the same platform from 2:15 – 3:45. The conference promotes, “We build bridges between the city’s intellectuals and the general public and facilitate collaborative partnerships between people that might otherwise not meet in order to work towards social change”.

Tammy Bruce on Fox News Radio is reporting that the McCain-Palin staffer/campaign bus has been shot at in New Mexico. Some windows were shot out but thankfully no one was hurt.

More bad judgement and shady characters. This news slipped out late Friday afternoon with the MSM giving it nothing more then a shrug.
It appears that Obama held a meeting in September with Muslims. In attendance were Mahdi Bray of the Muslim American Society and Nihad Awad, executive director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR). Bray was seen in 2000 pumping his fist high in the air at a pro-Hamas and Hezbollah rally. The CAIR is an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation terrorism financing case.

Rezko is business partners with Nadhmi Auchi. Auchi is an Iraqi billionaire and was a partner in Rezko Concessions. Auchi conspired with Saddam Hussein in 1959 to assassinate Prime Minister Abdul Karim Qasim. He stood trial for this in the same year. I seriously question two encounters here and am going to throw a third, direct link into Obama’s suspicious relationships here. First, Reverand Jeremiah Wright met with Gadaffi, who supported the PLO at a time when Gadaffi was listed as an official state sponsoror of terrorism. Second, Rezko was business partners with Auchi, who was a private banker for Gadaffi and supported the PLO. Rashid Khalidi has direct relationships to Barack Obama. Rashid Khalidi was a professor at the University of Chicago when he befriended Obama. He held a fund raiser for Obama in 2000, which is not illegal by any means. The interesting connection here is that Rashid Khalidi “was a director for the PLO press agency WAFA from 1976 to 1982. He served on the PLO ‘guidance committee’ at the Madrid peace conference” during a time when the PLO was considered a state sponsoror of terrorism. Khalidi recently made this comment on Al-Jazeer:

By God, I say that the participation of the sons or daughters of the Arabs in the plans and affairs of this institute is a huge error, this Israeli institute in Washington, an institute founded by AIPAC, the Zionist lobby, and that hosts tens of Israelis every year. The presence of an Arab or two each year can’t disguise the nature of this institute as the most important center of Zionist interests in Washington for at least a decade. I very much regret the participation of Arab officials and non-officials and academics in the activities of this institute, because in fact if you look at the output of this institute, it’s directed against the Palestinians, against the Arabs, and against the Muslims in general. The most interesting aspect to come out of all of this is that Barack Obama played a role in getting funding for Khalidi’s radical Arab American Action Network (AAAN) that was founded in Chicago in 1995, two years after Reverand Wright met with Gadaffi. Obama sat on the board of the Woods Project with BILL AYERS that provided funding to AAAN. Please don’t forget that Obama’s main mentor in Hawaii from 71-79 was an active member of the Communist Party of America either!

There’s just too many “dots” here suggesting that Barack Obama had “chance” encounters with these suspicious agents of terror.

Bill Ayers, Nadhmi Auchi, Tony Rezko, Jeremiah Wright, and Rashid Khalidi all lead into some sort of suspicious friendships with Barack Obama.

I went to the Joe Lieberman rally this morning at Temple Beth Sholom in Las Vegas. About 500 people turned out for the event, most of them Independant voters based on what I could tell from talking to them. About 70% of them were middle-aged to retired women who were former Hillary supporters. They were all fired up about John McCain and they all kept ringing on the point that Hillary said that only she and John McCain were qualified for president.

We started with some very vile, nasty words. We said the Pledge of Allegiance. After that, some great guest speakers took the mike.

A woman named Jan Terry, who is the president of the Democrats for McCain Charter, gave an extremely emotional, fiery speech. She hit all of the buzz words that’s been covered in the news. I caught her afterward to ask her about her “Democrats For Reagan” button. I asked her if she was a Reagan Democrat. She said that she wasn’t – but the last time she voted Republican was for Reagan. I asked her who she supported in the Democratic Caucus in Nevada and she said that she supported Hillary Clinton. She said, sadly, that Democrats are moving to such an elitist direction that she doesn’t feel like she’s a Democrat anymore. She said that John Kennedy would be a Republican today.

Sue Lowden, the Chairwoman of the Nevada GOP, spoke next. She said that she was at Sarah Palin’s rally in Carson City on Saturday night. She got the opportunity to speak to Governor Palin and said that they plan on having her stump hard in Michigan, Nevada, Florida, and Colorado.

Senator Lieberman gave a great speech, telling very personal stories about his friendship with John McCain. He’s not as tall as he looks on TV. His speech was short but he reminded us of two great points that aren’t covered much in the media:

1. 53% of the legislation that John McCain has subitted has had a Democratic co-sponsorer compared to 19% of Barack Obama. So, the Bush ads are just as bogus and false as the ads they are crying “wolf” about.

2. He said that he doesn’t doubt that Barack Obama won’t bring change but the kind of change that Washington needs now will never come from eloquence. It will need to come from blunt force and only John McCain can bring that.

I also got to speak to a woman who was part of Hillary Democrats for McCain. I asked about 10 other women if their support was “support against Obama” or “full support for McCain”? They all said that it was full support for John McCain SINCE he added Sarah Palin to the ticket. They said that they weren’t thrilled with McCain but less thrilled about Obama. Now, most of them are doing volunteer work and fired up about the ticket. One woman said that she was a die-hart Hillary supporter and just fell in love with Sarah Palin. She said that she relates to Sarah in a way that she didn’t even with Hillary.

I was watching some videos of Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan debating. Carter kept tapping on the National Health Care bell and how important it was to Americans. When are the Republicans going to counter with what I think the best argument against this is? The best argument against National Health Care is Social Security.

How can some government officials even consider National Health Care when they’ve proven to be so inept at managing Social Security? Furthermore, why don’t they try to fix SSI before trying to drive another car into a wall? I just don’t get it. Why doesn’t McCain come out and say, “National Health Care is important but the Democrats need to understand that they’ve blocked every effort we’ve made to fix SSI. SSI is broken, nobody wants to fix it, and now they want a new car to crash! Let’s prove we can work together and fix problems before laying more burdens onto the taxpayers!”

I had to work last night so I waited to watch Governor Palin on CSPAN before reading any commentaries on her performance. I sincerely thought that she just nailed it and like the fact that she can throw a barb without coming off like an angry woman (a la Hillary).

One of the biggest points that stuck out in my mind is that the Democrats keep painting this dreary picture of “America is broken” while Republicans are painting a “Washington is broken” scenario. Americans don’t like people telling them that their country is broken – they should have learned that when Jimmy Carter tried to paint that picture. I think we’ll see a bounce from this too because the Democrats always underestimate Main Street Americans. We have a main street American in Sarah Palin, who they underestimated. Main Street Americans know that Washington is broken and IF America is broken it’s because Washington broke it.

Now, I understand why the media came out with guns blazing at Sarah Palin. They knew what we didn’t until last night: That this woman is a threat and just turned this election upside down. A hockey mom just trumped the charm Barack Obama supposedly had to lure Main Street Americans – and she’s going to Washington to fix it.

I’m going to keep pounding on these points just to keep them in circulation so that voters understand more about Barack Obama. I think it’s scary that the MSM isn’t pressing a guy who has more experience studying communism, socialism, and Marxism then capitalism – and votes like it.

Vetting: A.B. Culvahouse vetted Governor Sarah Palin last summer. A.B. Culvahouse is one of the most meticulous auditors and has decades of vetting and political law experience. He was counsel to President Reagan. He was spotted in Alaska last summer but dismissed his appearance as a “summer vacation”. He spent 3-4 hours interviewing Governor Palin and spent days reviewing her records, newspaper articles, conducting interviews, and thoroughly going through her background during this time. The reports you hear about McCain sending his vetting team to Alaska last Thursday is true. He sent this team to Alaska the day before the announcement to be prepared for any fallout that they expected to receive. Karl Rove also confirmed this again this morning on FoxNews.

Troopergate: It’s clear that this was not a very popular move among Alaskans. This investigation stems over the firing of Walt Monegan. Her experience with Mike Wooten, married to her sister, Molly, made her believe that there was also corruption within this department. She also had clear differences with Monegan over slashing the budget. She wanted to cut it. He refused. He also refused to discipline or take action against troopers who violated the law.

Mike Wooten is a loose cannon and after researching support Governor Palin on this issue. Wooten has been reprimanded for violating over a dozen laws and departmental policies since 2001. He has been charged with drunk driving, illegally hunting moose, and tasering his 10 year old son. He made death threats to Palin’s father and threatened to kill him. Palin also learned that the rural community was extremely terrified and upset with ASP Officers. Monegan was fired and the rest is history.

Also, Bill Clinton has his own Troopergate Scandal but you won’t find a scrape of this on liberal blogs. At least she wasn’t using state troopers to transport hookers to private locations.

Pregnancy: It’s a family issue but don’t think for a minute that Barack Obama’s “adamant” statement meant anything. Daily Kos has been an adamant supporter of Barack Obama and this attack is coming from the operatives working in the dark corners of his campaign.

Earmarks: She’s being criticized for her earmarks as mayor of Wasilla and for her flip-flop on the “Bridge to Nowhere” project. She secured 27 million dollars in federal funding for the town of Wasilla, population 6,700. She used this money to build a train system, build a youth shelter, repair the sewer system, and build a transportation hub. The “Bridge to Nowhere” budget swelled from $223 million to $400 million between campaigning and election. She supported it during her campaign but eventually concluded that the money could be used better elsewhere. She’s put through the largest line-item veto in Alaskan history. It’s also key to note that everyone criticizing her for this were supporters of her opponents or former leaders.

She has a strong core of values and through this is able to see where she wants to lead us. She is firm on her beliefs but willing to negotiate on the issues that concern all of us. She seems to have that same natural ability as Reagan to understand that the biggest thing about understanding politics is that you don’t have anything to worry about if you do the right thing. A moral compass guides all of us and we are not as judgmental when the fundamental part of the objective is built on good intention. Sadly, that’s eroded from the Washington landscape since 1988. She never talks of cynicism. She talks with an understanding that while we may not agree on all issues, as long as we tackle them with courage and honesty then the best of what we are trying to accomplish will come through. This, ladies and gentlemen, is exactly what brought the status of Reagan to legend and why she’s probably the most like Reagan then anyone we’ve seen.

She seems to understand that dreams transcend the boundaries of battle and we’ll always be able to fight so long as the dream is still with us. Reagan always felt that defeat was not as issue so long as you fought, you dreamed, and the dream stayed with you. She is not afraid to take on a battle, knowing that it’s better to bring a dream to fruition through many defeats then achieving nothing while keeping many dreams.

Like Reagan, Sarah Louise Heath Palin started her professional career as a sports broadcaster. She embodies a competitive heart and spirit and has a great love for the outdoors, her state, and country. She grew up on the west coast. And in this land we know that all people across the world look West to watch the sun set on the great hope that a new day will dawn soon. She loves hunting and fishing and believes that the best of America is in Her wilderness. She got involved in politics because they were rank with corruption. She became governor of a state where corruption was bountiful and honesty was fruitless. She’s a proud mom and loving wife. She’s proud to have a son serving in Her military. She’s natural in front of a camera and talks as though she’s sitting right in our living room. She is what makes America great – a normal person on an abnormal journey that we can all somehow relate to. And while we may never make this journey ourselves, we’ll all be able to line the streets and cheer her on all-the-way.

Like Reagan, she’s one of us. She’s a soccer mom who really gets us. It’s morning in America again! I just can’t believe we’ve been asleep for 20 years.
