Unfortunately, I have to disagree with EPU and everyone else that the Democrats picking Rush as their current target for destruction now that Dubya is back in Crawford for good “can’t possibly end well” for them. I personally think it can, and that actually, if things continue the way they’re going, we’re going to find ourselves talking about how to mitigate the damage somewhere down the line.
The main disadvantage of being a politics junkie interacting so often with other politics junkies is that you tend to forget that you’re far from the typical voter.
It’s not so much what Rush says, or the fact that he’s what the media and their menagerie of tame “Republicans” like David Brooks consider “controversial.” To me, those are all positives, especially when you add the fact that, unlike Bush, he bites back.
But ultimately the issue here is tactics and strategy. Rush hitting back, daring Barack Obama to debate him, taking Michael Steele to the woodshed, defending his “failure” comments, etc. is all well and good. Except that he’s doing it only on his show. Which, I suspect, is exactly what Rahm Emanuel and the rest of his crew were counting on.
It’s a matter or simple electoral math and applying what we all know about the general American electorate.
Let’s be clear here; Emanuel and Co. are not afraid or particularly concerned about Rush’s 22 million listeners. They’ve written them off as unwinnable and have factored that into their calculations. Which leads us to real targets of the anti-Rush campaign; the mushy middle – election deciders – who don’t listen to talk radio, and who get their news from the three networks and by skimming the headlines at the check-out counter – their numbers are much much higher.
And what these people are seeing now on their television screens are a parade of Democrats and neutered 5th Column “Republicans” shaking their heads and tsking at Rush’s comments, and anchors/hosts accepting from the onset that Limbaugh is hateful, angry, extreme, and hoping for the nation to collapse for political gain. And that by extension, so is the Republican Party he’s associated with.
For us to assume that this would redound to our advantage means that we’re expecting Independents – the unfortunately abysmally ignorant who unfortunately decide elections – to actually take the time to tune in to listen for themselves when we know, through bitter experience over the last eight years, that this is the last segment of the electorate that will actively go out of its way to seek knowledge beyond what is fed to them by the DNC’s agents in the Press Corps. So why are we expecting any different now?
So this is my advice to Rush; don’t just preach to the choir. Get out from behind the Golden Microphone.
To be more specific; on your show over the next few days call up the producers of the various Sunday Morning Talk Shows on the Big Three, CNN, CNBC and MSNBC, live on air, and offer to come unto their shows to debate anyone they want, or whoever the White House sends up. Right now, you’re the big story – they’re talking about you all the time. So they can’t legitimately say you’re not a prime time “get.”
Like I said, Emanuel and Co. are not bothered much by Limbaugh’s radio show and his 22 million listeners – they consider talk radio and the people who tune in to be “fringe.” But Limbaugh appearing on what they consider “respectable” (meaning liberal) media, unfiltered? Where the uncommitted get the bulk of their news?
That’ll keep them up at night.
Dubya allowed himself to be destroyed by his refusal to engage his opponents and use his bully pulpit to set the record straight. And through sheer relentless unchallenged repetition in the Press, the Democrats and their 4th Estate allies were able to sell “Bush Lied” and other damaging stories to the American people. Now they’re trying to do the same thing to Rush Limbaugh.
And they can succeed despite Limbaugh’s lack of a similar reticence to fight back. Because, ultimately, there is no difference between silence and speaking where no one can hear you – and as far as I’m concerned, preaching to the choir falls neatly under the second category.

Snarxons_Law Thursday, March 5th at 12:37PM EST (link)That as far as the middle-of -the-road indys are concerned, Rush Limbaugh is about as credible as Al Sharpton. Crossed with Howard Stern.
Al Sharpton demanding a debate with President Bush would have been a laughable proposition, no? Couple it with abject public submission to Sharpton on the part of the Dem leadership and you get a clear mirror-ime of what’s happening to Republicans. today.
Rush Limbaugh is like a pair of cement shoes for a drowning G.O.P., and the more attention he gets right now, the deeper Republicans’ electoral prospects sink.

We can spend all day listing Rush’s wonderful accomplishments. However, he has a tendency to shoot his mouth off (endearingly to some) in a quotable, pungent, memorable way.
A large majority of Americans see him as a shock-jock, like Howard Stern: simply obnoxious. Couple that with Conservative politics and you get the image equivalent of a right-wing Al Sharpton.

And I disagree with you that this is “blowing” up in our faces. As it is the party is hugely lacking in up front leadership ready to take charge in our fight to stop creeping socialism in this country. What ever it takes to get our side worked up is good with me. We need conservative activism and by nature most conservatives aren’t activists. Most are working with families, businesses etc that need them there. But with the horrific decisions this current administration is making and our very country and way of life at stake, we need more than ever someone to give voice to our side.

Limbaugh approval at 25% among independents
Snarxons_Law Thursday, March 5th at 3:10PM EST (link)From a Gallup Poll released last Thursday (http://www.gallup.com/poll/114163/Limbaugh-Liked-Not-Republicans.aspx):
Exactly a quarter (25 percent) of independents approved of Limbaugh while 45 percent disapproved, figures that were down from 33 percent approval and 49 percent disapproval in 2003. The “don’t know/no opinion” group among independents jumped from 18 percent to 30 percent.

I used their ‘independent’ paragraph verbatim – maybe I should have also stated that clearly and provided that link too – though this starts to get cumbersome for a quick link post rather than a treatise …
That said, the point is not a shift in the numbers from 2003, but their overall stability. A clear majority, for better or worse, view Rush negatively.
Part of his appeal is his willingness to be outrageous. Great for ratings and for energizing your core audience, but comes with negatives for the mainstream (cf. Jeremiah Wright) – but then he’s not trying to win any elections …

There is no chance Rush will get on the air unfiltered. If Rush is to win that kind of debate it has to be PUBLIC or on his own show. Obama would never agree to be on Rush’s show, because Rush controls the Golden Microphone. So public it will have to be.
Couldn't agree more.
The_Rebel (Diary) Thursday, March 5th at 12:45PM EST (link)We all know how those talk shows work. I can just see Matthews as the moderator between Rush and one of their useful idiots on the left. He will never get a fair shake and you know it. It will be done on his show, in his studio, or not al all.
Also, where is the support from our leaders, or even from our rank-and-file legislators? Rush has certainly supported them over the last 20 years, helping them to get the majority in 1994. Maybe they just don’t give a …. anymore and are content to be in the minority. What a shame!
A biased moderator would not necessarily be bad
Aetius728 Thursday, March 5th at 4:46PM EST (link)As long as it was aired unedited. It might actually be a positive thing, unlike our
disgustingly wussy politicians, Rush would not accept the liberal premises. An interview by Matthews, for example, would result in Matthews being exposed for the lightweight hack that he is.
I echo Aetius ... a biased moderator Rush can handle.
Martin Knight (Diary) Thursday, March 5th at 5:12PM EST (link)Creative editing is another thing altogether. Eliminate the possibility of that (with your own camera crew) and Rush publicly warning on his show and during the interview that he would call out any snippet cut-outs that is out of context should serve quite well.
Gadfly: Why not?
Martin Knight (Diary) Thursday, March 5th at 5:08PM EST (link)Rush can request a live interview and also insist on having his own camera crew present – and make it very clear that he’s afraid of being the victim of “creative editing.”
And second, Obama would never agree to debate Limbaugh. It would never happen and let me be honest; most Americans would agree that it would be beneath any President to debate a radio talk show host who is not running for office. They won’t attribute it to cowardice.
Rush should instead therefore open the challenge to any and all comers from the Left.
If I had a goose that laid golden eggs, I'd be well off by now.
The_Gadfly (Diary) Thursday, March 5th at 9:38PM EST (link)Wishing for a live interview for Rush on an MSM show is like me wishing for that goose.
If they grant Rush a live interview, as he jests on his show he COULD beat them with half his brain tied behind his back. Probably even more easily if they tried to gang up on him.
But none of the flacks they have anchoring the morning news shows could HANDLE a live broadcast. And once it is on tape, it doesn’t matter if Rush has a copy of the “live” one, assuming it didn’t get lost after they were done editing it. His own crew filming it isn’t much better because then you get into an argument over who edited what how. Regardless of how you try to stop it, without the live interview, you are back to the position of the MSM audience seeing one thing, and Rush only being able to counter it with his allegedly “easily led” fans. CBS pioneered the slanderous edit technique with 60 Minutes (still a widely respected show), perfected it, and taught it to the rest of the MSM.
At this particular moment in time, Limbaugh is a major "get" thanks to the White House.
Martin Knight (Diary) Friday, March 6th at 9:22AM EST (link)This is one of those rare times that Rush can demand a live interview and actually get it. It can’t be considered anything other than a very reasonable request – especially if Rush were to take my advice and call up the producers live on his show to make the arrangements.
One other thing, I took a journalism class way back
The_Gadfly (Diary) Thursday, March 5th at 10:16PM EST (link)around the time of Reagan’s second election. It was only an introductory class, but it was an eye opener. In the very first pages of the book, the author claimed people became journalists to be advocates for the poor and downtrodden, and that it was proper for journalists to fill that role. My instructor considered herself conservative because she ‘stuck to reporting and the rules of grammar,*’ but showed her true colors on the issue of across the board tax cuts, specifically the Graham-Rudman-Hollings amendment. In class I asked, “How can you call something that exempts both military and welfare spending an across the board tax cut?” I was flabbergasted by her response which was instantly burned into my memory forevermore: “Mr.** [Gadfly], you should be in philosophy class. You are too interested in the truth and not enough in what was said.”
In short, the perversion of the news media isn’t something new. It’s been going on for a long time now. I have no reason to believe the corruption has not so thoroughly eviscerated their morality that they cannot even conceive of what a fair debate is. It reeks from them whether in their car crash explosions that were caused by detonators in the gas tank, their defense of factually inaccurate but “true” stories from serial slanderers, or their rush to judgment of the Duke Lacross team on a story that would have gotten the complete reverse treatment if the players had been black instead of white. Even Reagan couldn’t go head to head with them to knock them down. He could occasionally go around them to get something important done, but not head to head. Not in the way that needs to be done to start putting things right again. Rush isn’t that good either, even though I’d be hard pressed to say pick one over the other as the better advocate. No, unfortunately the corrupted MSM will have to be picked apart one reader/watcher at a time. The process is already underway. It’s part of why they keep pressing so hard for a new (un)Fairness Doctrine – they’ve already lost the radio wars, are about to implode on the newspaper front, and are starting to lose the tv front as well. And for that fight, I think Rush is pretty well situated right where he is.
* In fairness to her, she did teach me how to write short, declarative statements that eventually made tech writing I did professionally better, although I pretty much eschew the style now.
** addressing us all as either ‘Mr.’ or ‘Ms.’ and our last names was another thing she did that she thought marked her as a conservative.
Rush has always conditioned his appearences on such shows that they be live - that is why he had that hour long show on Russert every Thanksgiving
Mike gamecock DeVine (Diary) Thursday, March 5th at 8:50PM EST (link)Russert was about the only MSM show that would do that. Rush was also on MTP a few times with Tim.

Highlight of the trip was seeing a single engine plane pulled up to the gas pump between Palmer and Valdez, gassing up just like ya would the family car.

I think you are definitely onto something, Martin
E Pluribus Unum (Diary) Thursday, March 5th at 12:42PM EST (link)I think the Dems have calculated exactly as you surmise they have.
What you call upon us to do — which is to make sure we play this in such a way that the conservative message actually leaks out into the mainstream, to the masses of squishy-middle dolts, and moves them rightward, instead of letting the Dems and media frame this — is absolutely the right thing.
But I differ in that you think that we (and Rush) have not considered the echo-chamber thing, and are not responding in a way that gets it out into the mainstream.
I believe the massive exposure generated by this coordinated smear effort will cause 2 crucial things: one, that many, many previously unengaged squishes will tune into Rush to see what all the fuss is about – and when they do, frankly GAME OVER for them, because Rush is an extraordinarily gifted evangelist for conservtism – as in, he generates converts like Billy Graham.
Second, that he is going to enter the media stream in a way that he has avoided like the plague since he lost his hearing. He is going to make personal appearances, he is going to show up on TV in front of hostile hosts and audiences, and he is going to be where the great unwashed can hear his message directly.
Anyway, my 2-cents.

jcheney Thursday, March 5th at 12:43PM EST (link)…I hear what you are saying about those who don’t listen to Rush, watch the MSM and only read headlines, that they aren’t getting the whole story. I don’t listen to talk radio, yet consider myself a very well informed voter. In fact, I would call myself a political junky, as you say.
My concern with Rush doing MSM interviews is they will edit him like they did with his interview with Hannity (“I want Obama to fail/I want Obama’s policies to fail”). They took a snippet of what he said and played it all over the airwaves in order to discredit him; totally taking him out of context. That will most certainly happen on the big three networks. How does he say what he wants to say, yet guard it as not to be manipulated by those who hate him?
Simple Solution to that
Leopard1996 (Diary) Thursday, March 5th at 1:15PM EST (link)Put it in the contract, that he can also record the interview for his show as well. That way any edit, can instantly be refuted by the actual. I thought Obama actually did that with some outlets (O’Reilly for example)

Now, I know the average Lefty believes that there are millions of people in concentration camps somewhere in AK where Bush locked up all his critics and that they just happened to be part of the lucky few in the “resistance” to escape … but that’s really not what we call “reality.”
And if I’m not mistaken, weren’t the Branch Davideans massacred by a Democratic Administration? It wasn’t George W. Bush, John Ashcroft, Albert Gonzales or Michael Mukasey that gave the go order?
Allowing the so-called “Assault Weapons Ban” to lapse is what anyone would call respect for the 2nd Amendment. Bush did that. Eric Holder is looking into re-instating it.
And to be perfectly honest, we on the Right are the true guardians of the First Amendment – if left to you all on the Left, we’d all be in jail.
You on the Left are the people who introduce and defend “speech codes” in academia, who physically assault speakers on stage, who have made multiple attempts on multiple legislative floors to legally criminalize dissenting speech so that you can have an excuse to punish people for not toeing your line.
You’re the ones pushing for regulations to force radio stations to carry your shows because they can’t sustain audiences by themselves. You’re the ones trying to drive people of faith out of the public sphere. It is your party that relies on funds (union dues) taken forcefully out of people’s paychecks without their consent and often over their opposition – and we all know what Jefferson had to say about that;
And not only does your party not just aid and abet forcing people to contribute to your causes, you actually fight to limit what people can contribute to causes they do believe in!
In other words, you guys are ten times more of an enemy to the First Amendment. Except when it comes to pornography – I concede you guys do go to the mat for that. Otherwise the First Amendment needs to be protected from you.

I disagree Martin
Scope (Diary) Thursday, March 5th at 1:02PM EST (link)Rush absolutely should not get into debating on the MSM Obama channels. The debate would be filtered, edited, chopped, sliced and diced. Do you remember what was done to Sarah Palin? The Couric interview showed only those portion that would make her look as bad as possiblt. I would love to see Rush on a speaking tour, in as many places as he would do it.
Please remember, Rush never claimed the mantle of the leader of the Republicans, and, in fact said he would not want the job, as it would embarass him in it’s current state. What he has said is that since Obama and Emmanuel have called him the leader, then OK Obama, come on to the EIB and debate me. Martin, I think you are falling into the same trap that they are trying to use against Rush, and, he has been wise and smart enough to not fall for their bait.
As far as the squishes, they are not a deeply principled lot. They still don’t understand that Conservatism (as Rush put it) is not an ideology, it is a philosophy, and once you understand the philosophy, the ideas and policies are the easy part. You cannot buy only one part of the pack, and, you cannot be a little pregnant, that is what the moderates don’t get. Let them go their way.
Scope: Palin should have taken her own camera crew along.
Martin Knight (Diary) Thursday, March 5th at 5:41PM EST (link)I realized that the instant I saw the sneer on Charles Gibson’s face. Immediately I wrote that she should have her own camera along to every other interview from then on.
And that she should appear on as many talk shows and grant as many interviews as possible.
Here’s my point; these people have the largest microphones and the longest reach. The Big (Liberal) Three, MSNBC and CNN reach more than ten times the audience of FOXNews every night. The New York Times and Associated Press establish the party line for what you read in the headlines and pages of the nation’s largest newspapers.
In other words, we have to deal with them. Ignoring them is not an option. Because even if we do ignore them, they won’t stop attacking us – that’ll only give them the leeway to try to pass off even more outrageous lies about us to the public. See Bush, George W.
So I put it to you again that Rush should go into Obama territory to do battle. Or else they’re going to just slice and dice him with even more of a free hand. With his own camera crew, his own talk show, YouTube and a killer instinct during those interviews, I’m thinking he doesn’t have that much to worry about.

Could this be the “mushy middle – election deciders – who don’t listen to talk radio” doing something different, what do you think?
How and will Rush take advantage of this situation to reach the “mushy middle – election deciders – who don’t listen to talk radio”? “Calling them out” seems to be one step…

Excellent point Mr. Martin
willtenn Thursday, March 5th at 1:47PM EST (link)Logistically, Olbermann and the Lesbian will not have Rush on their shows, for reasons of lack of intellect on the part of the hosts, they will not allow a disparaging word on their shows. I don’t think Stewart would have him either. When Rush slammed Stewart, Stewart would awkwardly crack-wise on Rush selling ties or the Steelers, etc. Same with Maher. So while the first 2 would never happen, the last 2 are possible, but not likely.
Now, the sunday shows would happen and I don’t think, given her ratings, that Couric would turn down an interview chance either. And, I think fully that Rush would do very well on those programs. Granted, after his appearance, all would have “equal time” to someone who would criticize Rush, and granted, the host would give every indication, short of, and perhaps verbally shouting “I agree!” to the “counter” argument.
But, I do agree with yoru premise and suggestion.
I agree, but
DefendUSA (Diary) Thursday, March 5th at 4:27PM EST (link)Somehow, I don’t think these people have the balls to face Rush. He disses the sheer idiocy of many of them and they are not objective enough to face him with any real logic, sans feee-eelings.
And the killer is that all of the MSM will view him as smug in his answers because he goes at them with a respectful approach. He won’t get the same treatment, it will be spun just like the CPAC speech.

johnCV (Diary) Thursday, March 5th at 1:49PM EST (link)Rush absolutely must get into the media that has not traditionally wanted conservative views. There are very few peiple whom the corrput MSM will not be able to filter or censor and Rush is one of them – he is also big enough that they would accpet an interview on his terms.
We as Conservatives need to expand our avenues of message delivery and this would be an excellent opportunity.

Hera Thursday, March 5th at 1:50PM EST (link)I agree with Bill O’Reilly and Lou Dobbs who both talked about this on their shows last night and both expect this to backfire on the democrats. Supposedly we are in the mist of a economic crisis and yet the WH is spending time engaging a radio talk show host? Who looks weaker the chairman of the RNC for apologizing to Rush or a sitting President who’s publicly rebuffed by the Presidents of Iran and Russia while also being involved in a pissing contest with a radio talk show host? Which matters more to the average American? I remember when Clinton took on Rush complaining that Rush had 3 hours on the radio and a 30 min television show while Clinton was merely President of the US. We know how well that worked.
Hera: You're making the mistake of thinking like a politics junkie.
Martin Knight (Diary) Thursday, March 5th at 5:49PM EST (link)Most voters don’t think that deeply. They only watch TV.
The undecided voters who don't like Rush
Michael M. Keohane (Diary) Thursday, March 5th at 2:00PM EST (link)have never listened to his program. They simply assume that what they have heard or read about him in the main stream media is true. The attack of Team Obama will cause some undecided voters to tune in to see what all the fuss is about. That means that Rush’s approval rate among all voters, especially the under forty crowd, has nowhere to go but up. Emanuel, Carville and Bogala have thrown Rush into the “brier patch.’ As the economy worsens, as it must with these economic illiterates running things, more and more people will tune into Rush and begin to get the message. I first started listening to Rush because some of the “usual suspects” who wrote for the New York Times, the Daily News and, even, the New York Post were bad-mouthing him. So, I tuned in and got turned on.
Do not classify the words or deeds of your opponents as being hatefull, malicious or criminal in nature if they can also be easily characterized as simple ignorance or gross stupidity. Anon.
longwalker: the question is - what is the typical "undecided voter" more likely to do?
Martin Knight (Diary) Thursday, March 5th at 5:59PM EST (link)That may be true. It does not contradict my argument though that it’s all about the math.
Emmanuel and his crew have calculated that the number of people who would tune in to find out what all the fuss is about and possibly be converted by Rush is going to be a much much(!) smaller percentage compared to those people who would only assume what the mainstream media says about Rush is true and not investigate any further.
Now think; given what we know about the typical undecided voter, what is he/she more likely to do?

The real problem is Conservatives have set back and let loud mouth liars such as cluckie schummmmmer, and obama define all other parties, all the while raping the American Tax payer while running their little hoard with the purple kool-aid. It don’t matter much to me anymore but it does to my children and great grand children.
Over the last 60 years I’ve watched and liars and cheats utimately pay the price for their crooked ways. Many time the media will look the other way and not report on and they are just as guilty as schummmmmer and obama. This has allowed the dirty little pigs to breed lool-aiders and wallow in the slop. It will continue until 2010 and then all hell will bust loose.
I don’t know if there will be time to save America from all the Marxist polices that have been allowed the last 2 years under a Democrat controlled Senate and Congress. Conservative do have to stand for what they believe in and define the liars, crooks and theives for what they are.
The sky is not going to fall tomorrow. Climate change being man-made is a hoax and only keeps foney tenured professors in theire lofty postions promoting more ilth.
How in the L does a man that don’t pay his freaking taxes and is obama treasurey muck, know a darm thing about normal global warming and cooling. Greed folks Greed is obamas government.
I do not understand why obama Hates the Hard Working America middle class. Obama has had a free ride all his life with free college, etc Rezco but yet obama hate is emerging as the driving force. obama there are professinal people that can help you through your troubles. obama you have been like a bully in the playground with your actions or people actions you have directed such as rambo the vulgar and baghdad bob. Obama you was a major creator of the deficit you didn’t inherit it.
Rush isn’t your problem obama, you are your own problem We have no respect for you, just the office of the President and we will have to clean out the elcrapo after you are gone.
We can hope Pray for obama and make plans to reform all the elcrapo obama and the Democrat have been allowed to heap on our children and grand children.
GOD BLESS AMERICA
Let's not make the mistake of casting Rush as the Conservative Messiah here...
H (Diary) Thursday, March 5th at 2:49PM EST (link)Suggesting that he needs to go out and do Michael Steele’s job on the Sunday talk show circuit simply underlines Limbaugh’s point that the Conservative wing of the party is on life support and in danger on imminent pulling of the plug by the MSM.
Michael Steele should be behind the scenes for now.
Martin Knight (Diary) Thursday, March 5th at 6:02PM EST (link)We’ve got a dilapidated party infrastructure and apparatus to get up and running.
Second, I believe that after shoving his boot so far down his throat the other day, he needs his rest to recover.
That is exactly what Rush suggested Monday - what is so sad is that
Mike gamecock DeVine (Diary) Thursday, March 5th at 8:53PM EST (link)I think Steele was chosen for his TV persuasion skills!

Invite them in
GarWil Thursday, March 5th at 2:58PM EST (link)One approach I’ve often used when debating on the subject of Rush Limbaugh in unfriendly territory is to simply urge people to actually listen. Make them think that they’re lacking sufficient information to come to conclusions about Rush. (which is true, of course) Challenge them. They may not admit it, but curiosity likely causes them to check it out. As many of us former liberals who realized we weren’t really liberals after listening to Rush can testify, he can change minds. And he is addictive.
Include a link to one of several streaming hosting sites, like this one:
http://talkstreamlive.com/
I’d like to see members of congress address the “controversy” this way: “You know, I’d just like to urge people to actually listen to Rush in context. He’s got a wonderful powerful positive message that too many are missing out on. People are getting just tiny snippets that in many cases are designed to deliberately distort his mindset and what he’s actually saying. You can listen on your home or car radio by finding out what station he’s on in your area or on the Internet by going to ……”
Not only bring Rush to the people on TV, although I’d like to see that if done correctly, but send people to Rush’s home, where he’s the most persuasive and effective.
Be a RushEvangelist.
MSM bias (Left Spin)... Proof (to believe in and) a Lib can finally see/understand
JLenardDetroit (Diary) Thursday, March 5th at 3:12PM EST (link)This current round of Leftist propaganda and Spin to keep people from comparing the messages (the REAL MESSAGES) coming from the Right (for Obama voters, that’s us Conservatives) and the Left (for Democrats, that’s your fellow Socialists – you’re not a Socialist? oh, then why do you vote for Socialists? but that is a digression…) about the direction and needs of this Country now in order to recover the Economy (that the Left has talked down for 2 years in order to snooker… er… influence… voters last November) is the best evidence yet of the MSM Left bias….
FOX News, always maligned by the Left, is the ONLY Network that is providing the HONEST BALANCE (both sides / the whole truth) by going back to the audio/video tapes of countless (impossible to NOT find some examples from Reid, Pelosi, and the Democrat Presidential Candidates during their Primaries campaigns) Democrats on and on about “failed” this and “failed” that (even about our Troops failing in Iraq and the “War is Lost”). The exact term “Bush … miserable failure” became a purposeful, willful, and IMO with Malice of forethought, invented the “Google bomb” to keep the bias at the forefront.
For you NIAVE LIBERALS (especially those being filled with Leftist propaganda in the Indoctrination Factories these last 8 years) you can (and should finally get some FACTS) find related google-bomb discussion all over the net. See Moe Lane’s for one here (RS) and many more via the RS: Category: miserable failure link. Do a YAHOO Search on phrase “Bush failure google” and see the links there. The converse, however, see how google quickly (no Bias, right) eliminated the links of “miserable failure” to “Obama” Google quickly defuses Obama Googlebomb.
This is one of those perfect opportunities to challenge any Lefty friends, family, and/or whomever over the MSM bias and the OBVIOUS manner they are employing it while handling this story. Ask any Liberal about whether CNN, MSNBC, any other Media outlet, that they choose to look at demonstrates ANY contrast of what is being said now by Limbaugh and EXACT QUOTES of prior Democrat leaders about Bush!?!? It is real easy to point out to them that their media of choice DOES NOT AND WILL NOT present all the facts to them solely because they report based on what best puts forth their Political agenda and not being an honest arbeiter of “Reporting the News!”
When they doubt… Challenge them to watch Fox and see for themselves the FACTS/TRUTH by seeing both sides and ACTUAL VIDEO OF DEMOCRATS going on and on about BUSH FAILURE. Point them here to the discussions at Red State!!!
This is a simple and basic NO BRAINER that even a Liberal can look into and understand what is going on and A CLEAR AND PRESENT DANGER of Media bias in order to CONTROL them!

kweiss01 Thursday, March 5th at 4:36PM EST (link)I agree with all points made. Also…
In my opinion, the Republicans got a spanking the last election largely because they were unable to express a clear and cohesive philosophy, such as the conservative message expressed by Ronald Reagan and Rush Limbaugh. Instead, we pandered to special interest groups, made nice, watered down, and were left with a mushy, confused, and unappealing message.
Worse, we’ve let the Democrats define our message for us, driving us further into the wildnerness. As an example, how many times have you heard that the Republicans don’t have any “new” ideas? The more “new” ideas we come up with, the more diluted our message. We don’t need new ideas – we need ideas proven to work.
Rush Limbaugh has got it: conservatism is rooted in individual liberty, capitalism and small government. His is a unifying rather than divisive message, and I hope he takes this opportunity, as you suggested, to get out from behind his radio mic and share it with a broader audience.
Rush will add more listeners
Dencal26 Thursday, March 5th at 5:04PM EST (link)While its true Rush only answers his attackers on his show he is getting plenty of media attention which will result in new listeners and hopefully some conversions.
Rush has refused to engage? surely you jest!
Doc Holliday (Diary) Thursday, March 5th at 8:51PM EST (link)and know I am not calling you Shirley. If Republicans get there focus back, we are in for some good times electorally. Americans DO follow the collapse of the stock market and the loss of jobs. Americans do not like a Federal Leviathan telling them where to get healthcare.
You say Rush must go out of his realm and talk to the people, I have a better idea, let’s stop putting all the weight on Rush and take some of this upon ourselves. I am tired of whiners, purity trolls, and naysayers. this is YOUR money we are talking about, this is YOUR family’s future we are talking about. I have an idea, let’s act like men and fight back with all the might we have.
Molon Labe!

Rush Has Done Just Fine By Sticking With His Show
JX12 (Diary) Thursday, March 5th at 8:59PM EST (link)The real question here is, do we have faith that the values Rush articulates are true, correct, and right for the country? If so, then relax. The more people who actually hear Rush speak, the better it is for us. Democrats picking a fight with Rush will only increase the number of curious people who will tune in. Once they’re hooked, they’ll spread the word. This is how Rush got to 22 million listeners in the first place.
I’m not particularly worried about this.
Obama, Biden, Brokaw, Olberman should debate anytime, anywhere too!
