I had heard Valerie Jarrett had withdrawn her “bid” for this seat immediately before the Illinois governor was arrested.

If the “deal” was above board, why should she run for cover?

But I think it is wise to not get ahead of the evidence, either. Guilt by association or guilt by assumption doesn’t cut it for me, not unless the facts back it up.

And I guess the far-left is finally waking up to what “change” means, which pleases me greatly.

Obama denied Rahmbo’s in depth involvement, or at least that’s a fair reading of his statements thus far. It seems that Rahmbo’s fingerprints are on more than Obama admitted. (We’ll see.”

calculation: How will their demands, re: “Rahmbo,” affect the President-elect? They want him to succeed, as they know America needs a successful Administration, so they do not want to risk damaging him. It’s the Chris Matthews formulation with a cynical bit of baby and bathwater thrown in.

.. and I don’t like the Chicago Machine, but so far, there has been no evidence that Rahm, unlike Blago, sought to trade money in the form of campaign donations, or other considerations, for naming a preferred candidate to the Senate seat.

Whether or not “Rahmbo” has been caught “brokering a deal,” or even agreeing to one, the intent is obvious and the appearances foul.

The appearance, right now, is standard politics: Trying to get your guy/gal appointed to a Senate seat. Yes, Obama should be much more forthcoming about this issue, and so should Rahm, but one should not get ahead of the evidence lest one looks as bad as the lefties who assume Bush is a criminal because he replaced certain US Attorneys, as was his right.
