And more stories are coming out.

Yesterday's story was that Bill Richardson (cabinet-member elect) is involved in a NM pay to play investigation.

Well, what could we expect from an Office of The President Elect that is stuffing the administration and bureaucracy with Clinton retreads?

There is a there there. Emanual. Axelrod. Stay tuned.

we can't be LAZY like Liberals and say... "ok, you're it... no go do it all" and/or "whatever you say is ok" ... We must be engaged and willing to carry some weight... We must challenge our own at times even as much as we challenge the opposition!

I guess my comments on Newt just illustrate that we should be careful not to blindly sign on to every utterance from the lips of our icons without reflection or qualification. Better still, refrain from creating icons, eh?

we're human... unlike Liberals (who knows what they really are inside that can have them be wrong all the darn time).

I mean... I thought I was wrong once.. but I was mistaken, of course ;-)

I used to hold him in high regard, until he spouted some statements awhile back that showed he had been drinking some Globa Warming koolaide. Now I keep a closer eye on him, This latest really makes him a suspect for opportunism, though.

Well things like this is why I don't like the guy.

Face it - Newt is too Inside-The-Beltway.

After 2008, we all must understand that having an "R" after your name isn't enough, when it's really "R (Beltway)".

Help Obama succeed?! I'd rather pound sand.

Obama's fund-raising machine is still in operation. He is not going to be shy about taking his agenda to the public. Unfortunately for us, he is going to be the Democrats' version of the "Great Communicator".

it becomes available? We can't wait outside Boston for some Colonel Knows to show up with confiscated artillery; we have to fire justly. Our cause becomes stronger and more opportunities arise.

To me, Alex, this is about the future even more than it is the immediate politics of the early 21st century. By striking the Chicago connection now, we remind voters of who will sit in the White House. More important, though, we keep our own troops inspired. You've seen the responses in this thread. Do you want these people to do as Newt suggests, to wait around to make policy suggestions? No, these are the forces that will win or lose an election. They are angry about this Obama-Blago-Rahmbo bit, and they want the issue pushed. Remember that many people were fired up by Newt in the mid-90s, because Newt fought.

We should not sit on our hands until Obama and Pelosi have implemented their vision, only to say: "Well, Mr. President & Madame Speaker, we respectfully disagree with you, because we're the loyal opposition." We should not sit on our hands while our Executive Branch is run by Chicago machine politicians. With this going on, I find myself actually pining for change and hope.?

"<b>Clearly, we should insist that all taped communications regarding the Senate seat should be made public. However, that should be a matter of public policy, not an excuse for political attack.</b>

In a time when America is facing real challenges, Republicans should be working to help the incoming President succeed in meeting them, regardless of his Party.

From now until the inaugural, Republicans should be offering to help the President-elect prepare to take office.

Furthermore, once President Obama takes office, Republicans should be eager to<b> work with him when he is right, and, when he is wrong, offer a better solution, instead of just opposing him.

This is the only way the Republican Party will become known as the “better solutions” party, not just an opposition party. And this is the only way Republicans will ever regain the trust of the voters to return to the majority.</b>"

Unless and until there is some actual linkage shown between The Gov and The One. He's not suggesting ignoring anything-just being smart.

Besides, the election was pretty much a win for "Who cares about corruption anyway". Thems never have, and the voters didn't in November.

Sorry but civility is defined by the left along with everything else. We're to accept every statement they utter as truth and if we question one part, we're uncivil. I agree with the author on this one.

Obama needs to be challenged as does the rest of the federal government. If they want to call me uncivil for that, I, frankly, don't care.

The problem is not a lack of civility but in who determines what is and isn't civil by a set of rules that penalize the opposing side, us, by virtue of opposing them, not whether we did it civilly or rudely.

Mark, I say this because in my experience, people who emerge from the Chicago womb with a history of making terrible mistakes and having big lapses of judgment ** never stop having them **. You can sweep one or two aside and grant them a second or even a third, or fourth life, but eventually the behavior catches up with them, and becomes too much for everyone else to bear.

In order for Barack Obama to show himself to be a truly false idol, he must fail on his own -- not in connection with Blagojevich or his past in Chicago.

And this isn't what Rush might call me pulling a Colin Powell, but I think that until Obama takes office and/or Fitzgerald and the FBI come up with something more substantive, the better part of wisdom is to let him take office and then pay very careful attention to all of his mistakes.

I'm not gun-shy when it comes to criticizing Democrats, but let's face it: Obama's past connections are either going to be a festering sore that only turns his whole Presidency gangrenous or they're not -- but there's very little we have to say about that right now. Evidence is evidence. I'm sure if Fitzgerald has any, he'll present it.

In the meantime, I'll just say to Moe that I could have told anyone that Barack was going to pick Rahm Emanuel to be in his Administration at a very high level: it came as absolutely no surprise to me. I'd really like to know more about what's on those tapes the FBI recorded that they <em>didn't</em> put into the Blago indictment.

I don't want to directly contradict you Moe, but I would just say: "Keep your powder dry on the Obama Administration...at least until he is inauqurated."

Just sayin'.

On the other hand, I'm all for making fun of Barack Obama and his entire administration, and that video made me want to barf, and it also made me a little nauseous. Man, if you ever want to see people do that in real life, I can tell you a couple of places to hang out...

... you are just making yourself all the more irrelevant ...

Pile it on to Obama (and ANY/EVERY Democrat) early and often.... This stuff isn't going to get through the thick skulls of the mental-midget general American unwashed that had no clue (and didn't care they had no clue) when they pulled that JackAss lever on Election day... We have to hope there are a FEW that can be reached eventually by continually reminding them of these Socialists actions/activities.

If we didn't have "HOPE".... why bother?

PS: If I ever see Obama in person.. <a href="http://www.redstate.com/jlenarddetroit/2008/12/16/no-he-shoe-dint-have/" rel="nofollow">I'm throwing my SHOES at him</a>

PSS: Have you demanded your <a href="http://www.redstate.com/leon_h_wolf/2008/12/16/tuesday-morning-open-thread/#comment-1081" rel="nofollow">30% Property Tax reduction yet!?!?</a>

We are supposed to be the opposition party. Enough with the nicey nice. Time to take off the gloves and give it to them like they gave it to Palin. "You can put lipstick on a pig but it is still a pig."

First, NOTHING Obama plans to do is right for America, meaning that if we want to help America meet these serious challenges, we do it best by thwarting Obama.

A great way to thwart Obama is to keep him mired in the fetid swamp of Chicago Machine corruption scandal which he is certainly tainted.

Second, Newt, the time for the high road for Republicans is past. The enemy is ruthless, well-informed, well-funded, and 24x7 relentless. We have to go at them at every opportunity, and NEVER let the wounded live.
