To me, Alex, this is about the future even more than it is the immediate politics of the early 21st century. By striking the Chicago connection now, we remind voters of who will sit in the White House. More important, though, we keep our own troops inspired. You’ve seen the responses in this thread. Do you want these people to do as Newt suggests, to wait around to make policy suggestions? No, these are the forces that will win or lose an election. We should not sit on our hands until Obama and Pelosi have implemented their vision, only to say: “Well, Mr. President & Madame Speaker, we respectfully disagree with you, because we’re the loyal opposition.” We should not sit on our hands while our Executive Branch is run by Chicago machine politicians. With this going on, I find myself actually pining for change and hope.?

In a time when America is facing real challenges, Republicans should be working to help the incoming President succeed in meeting them, regardless of his Party.

From now until the inaugural, Republicans should be offering to help the President-elect prepare to take office.

Furthermore, once President Obama takes office, Republicans should be eager to work with him when he is right, and, when he is wrong, offer a better solution, instead of just opposing him.

This is the only way the Republican Party will become known as the “better solutions” party, not just an opposition party. And this is the only way Republicans will ever regain the trust of the voters to return to the majority.”

Unless and until there is some actual linkage shown between The Gov and The One. He’s not suggesting ignoring anything-just being smart.

Besides, the election was pretty much a win for “Who cares about corruption anyway”. Thems never have, and the voters didn’t in November.

Obama needs to be challenged as does the rest of the federal government. If they want to call me uncivil for that, I, frankly, don’t care.

The problem is not a lack of civility but in who determines what is and isn’t civil by a set of rules that penalize the opposing side, us, by virtue of opposing them, not whether we did it civilly or rudely.

In order for Barack Obama to show himself to be a truly false idol, he must fail on his own — not in connection with Blagojevich or his past in Chicago.

I’m not gun-shy when it comes to criticizing Democrats, but let’s face it: Obama’s past connections are either going to be a festering sore that only turns his whole Presidency gangrenous or they’re not — but there’s very little we have to say about that right now. Evidence is evidence. I’m sure if Fitzgerald has any, he’ll present it.

In the meantime, I’ll just say to Moe that I could have told anyone that Barack was going to pick Rahm Emanuel to be in his Administration at a very high level: it came as absolutely no surprise to me. I’d really like to know more about what’s on those tapes the FBI recorded that they didn’t put into the Blago indictment.

I don’t want to directly contradict you Moe, but I would just say: “Keep your powder dry on the Obama Administration…at least until he is inauqurated.”

On the other hand, I’m all for making fun of Barack Obama and his entire administration, and that video made me want to barf, and it also made me a little nauseous. Man, if you ever want to see people do that in real life, I can tell you a couple of places to hang out…

Pile it on to Obama (and ANY/EVERY Democrat) early and often…. A great way to thwart Obama is to keep him mired in the fetid swamp of Chicago Machine corruption scandal which he is certainly tainted.
