The big news from the Obama campaign this Monday is that campaign manager David Plouffe’s surname rhymes with Puff. Magic dragons aside, Mr. Plouffe has issued a vid in which he whines that the Obama lucrative lucre juggernaut is being outspent and will probably be outspent by the McCain campaign. It is RNC cash. Plouffe – rhymes with puff — tells us that very rich McCain + obscenely wealthy RNC = $96-million, while impoverished Obama + destitute DNC = $85-million.
{UPDATE, Moe Lane: Mark’s a little busy just this second, so he asked me to quickly update this: that 85 million is actually McCain’s/the RNC’s May cash on hand. Obama’s/the DNC’s was somewhere around $37 million cash on hand in May… and neither has of yet of course actually revealed June’s totals yet.}
{I should also note that Plouffe looks very, very tired. He should start eating better. It’s going to a be a long time to November, and we can’t have him collapsing just yet, can we? – ML}
I’m sending my dues to the RNC Life Member program today. So. There.
Enjoy the word from Plouffe (rhymes with puff), as he prepares to cry the equivalent of the Euphrates and the Tigres combined. He needs money:
You can give to the RNC here, and to the McCain campaign here. Or we can buy Mr. Plouffe a box of Kleenex.
Word out.

Pentagon16 (Diary) Monday, July 14th at 1:43PM EST (link)I can’t wait to see some detailed analysis about this as soon as Obama finally releases his cash on hand 1 July. We need to do some analysis on how much Obama needs to raise by 4 November to have matched what the McCain/RNC/Victory Funds already have in the bank and their general election funds..

We should have June's numbers in a week.
Moe Lane (Diary) Monday, July 14th at 1:50PM EST (link)Meanwhile, the magic number that I’ve heard for the Democrats is that they need $50 million a month to stay competitive. That’s combined Obama / the DNC.

exileoc Monday, July 14th at 6:48PM EST (link)“Plouffe’s surname rhymes with Puff.” …..
“(rhymes with puff)”
Yikes real mature and compels your argument. Then again, you are just speaking to your own choir on this one. Omg, this just in! Plouffe works for Obama. Omg! what does Obama sound like?
Does it hurt to be so clever all the time?
I have been wondering this as well.
Mord (Diary) Monday, July 14th at 6:56PM EST (link)I have no idea…but wouldn’t the fact that the general has already started disqualify him already? I certainly hope so.
He has already been spending general election funds….this would be like Senator McCain switching OUT of public funds. I don’t see how it can be legal.
Then again, I have no idea.

Samuel Gilleran (Diary) Monday, July 14th at 11:29PM EST (link)I think Mark’s provided a great public service. How am I supposed to inform my liberal friends of Obama’s impending self-destruction if I don’t know how to pronounce his campaign manager’s name? I might pronounce it “ploof” or I might even pronounce it “poof” – which is seemingly where all Obama’s money’s gone.
I hate the IRS.
Oh, and...
Samuel Gilleran (Diary) Monday, July 14th at 11:31PM EST (link)I don’t think compel was the word you were looking for, troll. Quit trying to use polysyllabic words; it just doesn’t work for you.
BTW, admins, it didn’t tell me I could pull a kowalski, it just said reply to this.
I hate the IRS.
What amused me most...
blueteapot Tuesday, July 15th at 12:07AM EST (link)was if you listen very carefully, you hear that Plouffe pronounced cavalry, not as CAV-AL-RY, but as CAL-VA-RY. It was amusing to hear him say “the CAL-VA-RY” doesn’t exist. Calvary, of course, is where Christ was crucified. Why does it not surprise me that he thinks that??
Er, it *does* rhyme with puff
Neil Stevens (Diary) Tuesday, July 15th at 1:10AM EST (link)Watch the video. Plouffe himself says it that way.

Pronunciational Challenged Person
Judy T (Diary) Wednesday, July 16th at 3:11PM EST (link)As a liberal(progressive)troll you should be ashamed of yourself (oops forgot you progressives don’t understand the concept of shame). I thought you folks constantly claimed the mantle of caring for the disabled while accusing the conservatives of pushing all disabled to the curb.
Now I have a unique disability in that I have difficulty with the pronunciation of names. So I thank Mark for adding this nice little hint so that my reading is smoother. Otherwise, between the above admitted handicap and a touch of OCD I could be tripping up on that name for a considerable length of time as my mind tried souffle, aloof, or loofah.
Puff is probably the best choice as the use may be doubly informative in signifying a favorite pastime of so many “progressives”.
Now Mark could have used buff although not as apt given the comment about the Plouffe’s diminished looks and need to improve his diet. Maybe scruff or rough would work. How about enough as in I’ve have enough of the drivel from the obmaniacs — I guess your fliping out like this is over a tiny and useful word is indicative of your maniac mental state. Maybe snuff might be useful as in snuff out the Obama campaign.
Now I think fluff is more appropriate as if also describes Obama’s resume as in is a piece of fluff. Fluff also describes many of Obama’s statements as of late when he can’t remember his past contradictory past statements.
