Mainly because we don’t have bells!

Church bells were used to call the faithful to worship because back then no one had timepieces and the only way to alert them over long distances was to ring a bell!

WE believe that
(1) since we have published times of worship
(2) most people own at least one timepiece
(3) most people know how to interpret said timepiece
(hard to prove considering how many people arrive 20 minutes late (public school graduates??))
there is no need to ring bells!

Besides, considering we have members who drive over 30 miles to attend services we would need some VERY loud bells!! )

and downtrodden instead of WASTING their time ringing bells there would NOT be as many poor and downtrodden. I laugh when churches wonder WHY there pews are empty, it is directly related to the stupidity they engage in on a constant basis.

If we reach 500-600 ppm watch what happens to crop yeilds and plant growth. Also watch humans prosper under higher levels as well if the temperature rises a degree or two. That is my prediction, we have heard that 350 ppm is the normal but the Soviets in 1972 measured 375 ppm in their atmospheric measurements, so what the heck is going on? I like the Soviets method for measuring atmospheric CO2 and they did it at higher elevations.

I understand the size of the organization, but they are still irrelevant. I remember reading about the American church representatives in this organization writing a letter begging forgiveness for how evil U.S. foreign policy is, and seeing the people bringing the letter admitting that they hadn’t really asked their parishioners and that they would likely be criticized for it.

The WCC does not actually represent the member churches, anymore than the AARP represents senior citizens or the UN represents citizens of member countries.

It is just a bunch of irrelevant idiots funded by people who have no idea what they are funding.

frighteningly similar to what’s being taught on college campuses these days (I work for a mid-sized public, masters level institution). Yikes, folks are getting it from the churches and from higher education as well!

It, unfortunately, encompasses more than is indicated by the 348 churches. For example, one member church is the “Lutheran Church in Hungary”, which actually has 300 parishes!

The stupidity here, I’m afraid, is downright viral.

You’re spot on . . . stuff like this goes a long way to explaining the exodus that some churches are experiencing. People go to church for God, not PC lefty dribble. For that, all they need to do is turn on MSNBC or CNN. They need not bother to get up early on a Sunday morning and head to church.

Our bell is fo calls to worship God, not some farce. We’re not members of the WCC anyway. We ring ours still every Sunday, usually it’s one of the kids, but sometimes it’s me!
