Haste really does make waste. I thought I had adequately proofed the post, but apparently that wasn’t so!

It’s a particularly embarrassing error. I’m a Catholic and even teach catechism. So, that mistake is a whopper.

about as opposite as they come. It’s unfortunate that an average ‘man on the street’ has probably never heard of Gianna Molla, but is likely aware of George Tiller. And, thanks to favorable media treatment, that average man on the street may even harbor some form of admiration for Tiller. We have our work cut out for us, eh?

Living in a liberal area can be an amusing experience . . . well actually, it’s one Living in a liberal area can be an amusing experience . . . well actually, it’s one of those laugh or cry kind of situations. Laughing maintains the sanity. I get plenty of opportunities to speak with liberals and have almost never failed to discern gross inconsistencies in their thinking and sometimes outright hypocrisy (especially when speaking of moral and cultural issues). The hypocrisy doesn’t really surprise me. After all, if one’s conscience is based almost entirely on emotion, then hypocrisy and inconsistency are sure consequences.

I agree. I suspect as well that the pro-abortion crowd would label her a fool, but to quote an apt piece of Scripture: “Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.” (I Corinthians 1:25). It’s clear, then who the fools are.

I couldn’t agree more about the inconsistency between so much care for the life of a critter and not caring a whit about the life of an unborn infant. It borders on schizophrenic.

By the way, I live near (well 60 miles or so) the Berkeley of the Midwest, Madison, WI. So, I frequently encounter vegan members of PETA who lambaste anyone who dares refer to their pet as anything less than an animal companion . . . don’t get me wrong. I love my old dog and care for him well, but he’s not a human being and humans trump animals. For example, when a tornado warning comes along, it’s humans to the basement first, then, time permitting, I look for the pets. PETA be damned.

and it was lovely, thank you so much. I’m more often than not reminded of the emphasis put on the life of a critter (living in the bay area of CA) and lack of that of it for an unborn child and I just can’t make any sense of it.

The compare and contrast of your diary is excellent, but so sad too. It is clear by Obama’s policies, how little he values human life. Unfortunately, he is a representative sample of so many others…

You can have your choice as long as it’s the same as our choice. Oh, and you can’t harm any creature we decide is worth protecting – - any other creature is fair game, including human babies. Great job as always Mark. Thanks for helping to spread the story of St. Gianna (which, BTW, is the name of the pro-life group at my parish).

A point that deserves to be made and drove home is that not only would the pro-death culture disapprove of her sacrifice, but they would likely lobby to remove her right to choose that sacrifice.

Finally, a true example of choice. While in this case I wouldn’t begrudge the woman that chose a different way, it most certainly needs to be recognized that here’s a woman who actually made a real choice with her body.

The pro-abortion crowd would obviously decry such a choice, but that’s because they’ve never been pro-choice in the first place.

Thank you for promoting one of my diaries to the front page. It is quite a humbling honor.

I’ve long been a reader of RedState, but only signed up for an account and started posting after the election of BO . . . elections like that one tend to get folks off the sidelines and into the fight. It certainly did so for me.

So, for a diary of mine to appear even just once on the front page of my favorite political website is a pretty good reason to smile.
