The University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics (UWHC) is deepening its involvement in the abortion racket. Not content with performing first trimester abortions, UWHC will begin performing second trimester abortions. UWHC will offer these “services” at the Madison Surgery Center, which is a joint venture of UWHC, UW Medical Foundation, and Meriter Hospital.
Abortions will be offered for women who are between 13 and 22 weeks pregnant. According to the Alliance Defense Fund, a prolife group, unborn children in the second trimester are pretty much fully formed and have brain functions. Unborn children in this stage of development are even able to yawn and ultrasounds show them swimming in the womb. They look human and act human because they are human.
The preferred abortion method during the second trimester is “dilation and evacuation.” In this ungodly procedure, an unborn infant is dismembered in the womb and then reassembled on a surgical tray to make sure no parts are left in the patient.
UWHC figured now was the right time to jump with both feet into Gehenna. The precipitating event was the December 2008 retirement of Dr. Dennis Christensen. Christensen, the ironically named doctor, was, up until his retirement, the only provider of second term abortions in the Madison area. Christensen will hand off the keys to Mengele-like infamy to UWHC’s Dr. Caryn R. Dutton.
Fear not, though, thrifty Midwest values are in play. Fetal tissues from second trimester abortions are used in University of Wisconsin medical research. There are the direct killers of the innocent and then there are the vultures that prey upon their remains. It’s a regular circle of death.
Wisconsin prides itself on its first class university system, with Madison as the flagship. There are many reasons to be proud, but sadly this is not among them. Only shame inhabits this decision.
