Dear Newt, Here’s How You Win

Forget attacking Mittens, forget defending yourself from Mittens attacks. The attacks don’t matter. Post the facts and rebuttals on your web site and send out emails. Forget the negative advertising. Save it for the real election.

Get on the phone tonight or on a plane tomorrow and talk with Bill Donohue, the President of the Catholic League, Cardinal Theodore McCarrick and as many Protestants, Jews, Baptists and Mormons as you can find that manage hospitals and health care facilities.

Tell them again that you will end ObamaCare on day ONE of your Presidency. You will stand with the churches of America against the Godless creature in the White House and you will allow them to continue the traditions of their religions as stated in the Constitution. Tell them you will get them out from under the bus, where Obama and Mittens has tossed them. Tell them something that Mittens can’t say or refute.

Get the churches to ask their priests, ministers, pastors, reverends and lay people to stand in their pulpits and repeat “Newt Will Save Us From ObamaCare” every Sunday in every State until the election. If you and the churches, can’t sell that to the congregations and it does not get you another 30% of the vote; Republican, Democrats and Independents, then you do not deserve to be President.

Use the tools that Obama is giving you. Fight the fight with Obama. Make it a National fight as of tomorrow morning. Tell us how you can change America from the downward spiral we are in under Obama to what we grew up with, or at least to what we think we grew up with. Use the facts and figures to prove that Obama is a liar, a con artist, and a manipulator who offers handouts to his friends. Make him more than just the “Food Stamp President“. Most of us already know what he is but it is your job to tell the country.

You have the vision. Now you have a plan. All you need to do is to implement it.

Impeach the Bas**rd

I wrote a letter to each of the Congressmen and Senators, [ 2 Senators both (R) and 32 Congressmen - 9 (D) and 23 (R) ] representing Texas. In each letter I listed a number of items that have been questioned by the media, by RS and by friends regarding the practices brought about by the current administration. In the letter I asked their opinion and stand on impeachment. Surprise, after 4 weeks, I received one response.

From the one response -

Impeaching a civil officer is a serious undertaking that is seldom pursued under our Constitution. In fact, the House of Representatives has impeached just two presidents (Johnson in 1868 and Clinton in 1999) in the past 222 years – and each was acquitted by the Senate.  One reason we don’t impeach many federal officials is that the Founders never wanted the procedure to be used as a political tool to intimidate members of the Executive branch or the Judiciary.

In other words, we can’t impeach a president because we don’t like the position on health care reform or because a federal judge wrote a controversial opinion.  The standard for impeachable misconduct – “high crimes and misdemeanors” – typically involves serious criminal activity or other behavior that includes ”maladministration,” moral turpitude, inexcusable neglect of duty, or offenses related to a major betrayal of trust.

So let’s look at the basis for this single response and just ignore the fact that this responder and the others who did not bother to respond do not have the balls or the interest to do what is right for America –  if it might mean they can no longer hold onto their power.

High” in the legal parlance of the 18th century means “against the State”. A high crime is one which seeks the overthrow of the country, which gives aid or comfort to its enemies, or which injures the country to the profit of an individual or group. In democracies and similar societies it also includes crimes which attempt to alter the outcome of elections.

High crimes and misdemeanors is a phrase from Section 4 of Article Two of the United States Constitution: “The President, Vice President and all civil officers of the United States, shall be removed from office on impeachment for, and conviction of, treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors.”

Maladministration – the actions of a government body which can be seen as causing an injustice.

Moral Turpitude – conduct that is considered contrary to community standards of justice, honesty or good morals.

Inexcusable Neglect Of Duty -  breach of trust, careless abandon, carelessness, delinquency, dereliction, disregard, failure to care, heedlessness, idleness, inaction, inattention, inattentiveness, indifference, inexcusable carelessness, malfeasance, malignant oversight, nonfeasance, omission, reckless absentmindedness, severe laxity, severe laxness, thoughtlessness, abandonment

Have we seen any of these impeachable actions, performed, offered, or perhaps mandated by our current President? If we the people can see it, why cannot our elected officials see it?

I am getting tired of hearing that we all must get along with a madman that is corrupting and bankrupting America or listening to the current Speaker claim “we have him right where we want him”, right before he gives away the farm – again!. Mr. Speaker, you and your friends, do not represent my interests or the interests of the country. Sometimes it is not whether you win or lose, it is about doing what is right and tossing the jerk up against the wall and demanding an answer. You may not be able to get the impeachment through the Dem controlled Senate, but by God you can at least make headlines that you are attempting to do what is right for America.

Dear RedState,

As much as I enjoy waking in the morning, reaching onto my nightstand for my impossible technoligical nightmare called a cell phone, punching a few touch keys and reading Eric’s Morning Briefing; however, I think I am done.

I can no longer stand the large moving graphic you have imposed over the document urging me to subscribe to Morning Briefing, with NO method to close the window. Oh, there is a [close] button, but it does not work.

Since the advertisement is displayed on every page on RedState and the ONLY method that someone can read Morning Briefing on a cell phone, iPad or other mini-electrical product is to subscribe or have someone forward you a copy of the email.

So enough is enough. Drop the adverisement to subscribe to something you most likely have already subscribed to and let us read the articles.

Lies, Lies and Damn Lies

Tonight the person currently pretending to be the President will tell Congress and the nation that all is well, the recession is over and he has the facts to back it up. As reported on FOX, MSNBC, USA Today and others this morning, “we have now had 15 months of consecutive job growth“. In fact the BLS reported this morning that “In December, 37 states and the District of Columbia reported over-the-month unemployment rate decreases“.

All is well in America and Obama should be re-elected because of his performance in turning the economy around. Right?

Well, before we break out the champagne to rejoice over his announcement, perhaps someone should ask where these numbers come from. Oh wait, Obama’s appointed few created them. The reality – We are still not gaining jobs. But the numbers, ah the numbers. The workforce has shrunk dramatically since Obama took office. With a smaller workforce, due to not counting those that are unemployed and have given up even looking for a job or have run out of unemployment benefits, the numbers he wants to promote shrink to prove his point.

Since Obama’s policies he promised have not had the desired effect of lowering unemployment rates, he has chosen to change the way unemployment rates are calculated to develop the proof that his policies are working. Are we really that stupid? If you actually total up the unemployed, those that have given up even looking and those without benefits, the number is closer to 15%, or about 5 points higher than when he took office.

So the real point to his story is when and not if the candidates will talk about the facts and the failures of Obama. Like Newt said this morning, “I want to focus my time talking with the American people about things like Iran, things like what is happening in Egypt, concerns we have for Cuba and for South America, difficulties in our own economy.”

OK, so lets do it.

The NBC Florida debate -

was rigged by the left, boring and not worth wasting the 2 hours to watch it, as expected.

The redeeming factor was watching Newt shred Mittens on every point. But heck, just once I’d actually like to hear Mittens answer the question asked and not shift into his used car salesman mode.

I’m a small businessman,

I run an Internet based business and I’m frightened. Frightened of the existing regulation, frightened of the proposed regulations, frightened of the creeping regulation and completely start raving scared of what Obama will do to small businesses if he buys, lies, cheats and steals his way into another term.

After living in two states run on the basis of “how much can we squeeze out of every business“, with a tax on this, or a surcharge on that or a filing fee for something else, or simply getting a notice in the mail that my “inventory” was reviewed by XYZ Department and I owe this much in tax. Huh? Can someone tell me how they review my inventory without documents or physical visits?

So I packed up and came back home to Texas. I came here because I missed Texas. I missed the lack of regulation. I missed the open business mentality of the government officials and I missed the ability to grow my business as I felt it needed to be done and not as someone who has never held a job in the workplace decided I must do it. I also came home to support a friend that was running for President.

Well, we’ve seen what the good old boys in the Establishment do to someone that has creative ideas and wants to restrict the abuses of government in our lives. And now we are seeing what those same good old boys  are trying to do to Newt. No, Newt is not perfect. No one is. But he makes good financial and business sense as opposed to the other two moderates still running. And this election is about JOBS and beating Obama and NOTHING else.

In my business I’d like to expand, to hire a larger staff and invest in more inventory. But, like most Americans, I’m frightened. I have no idea what new regulation, tax or fee is coming next week from Washington, with or without Congress’s approval and that is without worrying about NoBamaCare.

I’m tired of telling my customers that we’ve been in business for 16 years – but have no idea if we will be around next year. Time for a change. Time for the so called Establishment to move aside or be steamrolled by American’s like me who will vote our heart for business, jobs and less regulation and against most incumbents, as only a few have shown that they have America’s best interest at heart.
