They are very patient and have slowly been putting the framework in place. All they need now is an emergency. It sounds crazy until you start looking at the big picture and their goals. Then it's horrifying.

Government conspiracy stuff for twenty years now. It always had a 'truther' quality to it before. No more. It is amazing to me how much has slipped away from us just in the past couple of years, and especially in the past nine months. You used to be able to ignore this sort of thing. These days, you do so at your peril.

developing countries? We could let them have a few failed banks, or we can mail off some mortgages that were defaulted on and then they can trot on over here and see if they can sell the things.....

....seriously, where, besides printing up some more soon-to-be worthless bucks, would we come up with ANY money to send over to countries who haven't managed to figure out how to produce some of their own? As for transferring technology, I say to give them Al Gore and his damned hockey stick. We'll throw in his enormous gas-guzzling houseboat for free. Or perhaps we can ship them our clean coal technology that we won't be using since Obama and Sheriff Joe won't allow it. At the rate the Dems are killing our economy and present technology, it will be the United States of America that should be on the receiving end of the benefits here.

I love this section.

"Developed country Parties shall provide financial resources and transfer technology to developing country Parties to make full and effective repayment of climate debt, including adaptation debt, taking responsibility for their historical cumulative emissions and current high per capita emissions. Developing country Parties will, in pursuing economic development and poverty eradication, take proactive measures to adapt to and mitigate climate change;"

I mean we would have to make "full" payment not just in coin but in "transfer" of technology. And developing countries are to take measures to "mitigate climate change". I forgot that our planet is supposed to have an unchanging climate.

Another day. Another outrage.

If we can't come up with 34 Republicans to shoot this thing down, we deserve to get rolled. Even if McCain, Graham, both Maine women, and Lugar vote for it, that still leaves 35 non-RINOs.

........it's coming.

This has all the makings of The Blue Helmets marching up Main Street.

Also, please remember there's The UN Convention on the Rights of the Child..... http://www.unicef.org/crc

......and of course, The Organization of American States has "C.I.F.T.A.", which basically disarms the population base.

I highly doubt that. The Constitution and its amendments take priority over a ratified amendment. In addition, I have no idea where you're getting the " if it is passed with 51% in both House and Senate it still takes the force of legislation" claim; II.2.2 of the Constitution (the Advice and Consent clause) says nothing about it at all.

Can you explain your reasoning here?

To be formally ratified as a treaty does require submission to the Senate and a 2/3rds vote. This would seem unlikely,( though with the Democrats holding 60 seats, we may not be far from 7 R's joining in if they don't read the fine print and go along with the Climate Warming mob.)

However, the political danger is that the President's signing this treaty will embolden the Democratic majority to enact many of these provisions by legislation - and especially if they do it piecemeal, we may not see what's going on and refuse to arouse significant opposition.

And many of these provisions will be difficult to reverse even if the R's somedown gain control of the legislature because it will be a stealth usurption.

send a message to the Senate that they should not, under any circumstances, approve the treaty... But in such a way that might have added benefits.
