people have of Vietnam War Era and so called peace activists and anti-war types.

People such as the Weathermen did not operate to promote peace. Instead they were instruments of the communist movement. Blowing up buildings and private homes is not anti-war. When protestors waved VC flags in Grant Park during the '68 DNC, they were not promoting peace. Rather they were taking sides against their own country. Same goes for Jane Fonda sitting on a North Vietnamese AAA piece.

David Harris went to jail rather than participate in a war he did not believe in. Muhammed Ali risked the same and chose to give up his world title rather than serve. While the these two examples may be distasteful to some, they still present a distinct contrast between those who practice non violence and those who actively take up violence or who use symbols of war as props in order to promote an enemy of our country.

With regard to our nation being divvied by foreign countries, what William Ayers does not realize is that once his usefulness is over, he'd have an SKS stuck up his nose.

I didn't realize this until poking around after finishing the article, but LGF has a copy of Prairie Fire available in PDF form.

According to LGF, it's way more violently insane than you would ever expect. Well, after a cursory paging through the Black Book of Communism, some things from the Mitrokhin Archives, and the Gulag Archipelago I would expect horrifically bloody insanity.

I too had to undo my own liberal indoctrination and beliefs. Of course, 9-11 and working for a living thrust me back to conservatism real fast.

Sustaining the proper amount of skepticism when it comes to ideologues like Ayers is tiring. But I find that the ability grows stronger with use. Also, as someone who had to overcome his own leftist indoctrination not very many years ago, I have had to sharpen my skepticism and reason into a scalpel in order to remove the cancer from my own beliefs. That kind of experience makes a guy ruthless when it comes to discarding useless and dangerous ways of thinking.

I tend to read him with much skepticism, which makes his writing hard to digest. It is so full of idealism that in the real world would not work. Just reading his text above I found myself sighing many times. I read his writing and think, wow, this guy gets paid for this kind of trite.

That's what makes his writings so dangerous. They appear to be thoroughly reasonable, until you start puzzling out the specifics of things.
