…I think Trelaina’s point would apply in a childless marriage. I watched “He’s Just Not That Into You” last night, and the most pathetic character was the guy who lacked the courage to leave his loveless, childless mariage to be with his paramour. He even admitted the affair to his wife, expecting her to do the dirty work of dumping him….which she eventually did, after haver her fill of his cowardice and dishonesty.

Sanford, in ” the way he went into detail about his regard for his married mistress and his refusal to say the affair is over…” displayed a similar cravenness and lack of judgement, and if he shouldn’t leave his wife, then he should at the very least leave his office, as you say.
