My 9 year old son arrived home from school on Tuesday and I heard him turn the TV on and was watching the ascension of the ONE. A few minutes he came up to my office and asked “what is abortion?”.
I asked why – where did you hear that. He said all the news people were talking about it – that Obama was an abortion supporter. I took a deep breathe and told my son what abortion was.

With a confused look on his face he says “why would anyone want to kill a baby before it was born?”

Mr. Obama – can you answer my son’s question?

I certainly cannot.

why the dewey-eyed reaction on the part of so many conservatives to Obama’s inauguration was so missplaced. He is frightening on this issue. Extreme is an understatement.

The GOP hasn’t so much been friends with pro-lifers as it’s been a casual acquaintance. Now we are about to see its wobblyness on this issue bear full and alarming fruit.

The critical point here, as Leon notes, is that Obama doesn’t want peace on this “culture war” issue, he wants victory and the forcible conscription of his enemies to his cultural vision.

I dread this man, and I place the blood of the innocent unborn who are not given the chance to live because of his actions solely and squarely on the shoulders of Obama and the 52% of America who thought he was “change we need”. The government is quick to tell us where to set our thermostats, what to do with our garbage, what type of lightbulbs to use, what fuel we put in our cars, what animals we can and cannot kill, what trees we can use for lumber, and yet, when it comes to a human LIFE, it’s a personal matter left up to “choice”. Disgusting, and reprehensible.

And it just angers me, as Joe_Cor mentioned, ultimately the GOP has no use for pro-life people. Thanks to Rudy for reminding us of that again yesterday.

I am absolutely disgusted at the “leaders” in the evangelical church who backed the current monster in the white house. Shame on Tony Jones, Rick Warren, and all those who should know better. I hope all the “Christians” who voted for Obama will take a good look at this picture and remember they voted for someone who considers the killing of a person like this to be a choice.

But I have to say that the issue of abortion has resulted in the election of more morons at the state level, both pro and anti on this issue than any other issue. Take Michigan for example, I’ll argue that the only matter Granholm has met her constituents desires on is the issue of abortion. How many Governors and State Legislators have we elected at the state level because they were “more” pro or anti on this issue than not only their general election opponent, but also in the primary. I won’t bore with example, but I know in my home state of Tennessee we have systematically elected Republicans solely on the criteria that they were percevied as “more” against aborton than there primary opponent. The problem is the issue of abortion is the ONLY issue these people care about or, more importantly, understand.

If a government can prevent a woman from having an abortion, can they also force a woman to have one? Is there any precedence?

How are your ovaries?

Is abortion against the law? Late term yes, but a mass of cells? High intensity vaccum! How can a government prevent a man from robbing a store? Bad choice. Try again!
