The point cannot be made often enough: Modern liberalism, as embodied in the Obama presidency, is the defender of the status quo. And the status quo is a road to economic ruin. Political forces cannot redistribute the wealth that the economic system does not produce.
Always read the fine print...
kowalski (Diary) Friday, December 19th at 9:36AM EST (link)In something as big as the TARP, the four words: “…including, but not limited to…” mean effectively that the government has complete authority to lend that money to whatever or whoever they wish. I’m not surprised that they included that codicil and I’m also not surprised at the result. The Heritage Foundation might be, and I’m sure Paul Weyrich is rolling over in his grave, but let’s face facts: he’s dead.

He was just sitting in the snow on the road. Poor duck, we normally don’t have snow for a week – usually a dusting and gone by mid-afternoon at the most. He probably thought he left Canada a while ago, expecting to come to the Willamette Valley for our mild winters and lots of rain. Surprise!
We have 3 more inches of snow forecast for the weekend too. There has already been more snow this week than the last 4 years combined. And it’s not even winter yet.

It's actually called the Gore Effect
kyoufuu (Diary) Friday, December 19th at 12:55PM EST (link)Tracking the Gore Effect
“There are more instances of the abridgment of the freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachments of those in power than by violent and sudden usurpations.” — James Madison
“I swear by my life, and my love of it, that I will never live for the sake of another man, nor ask another man to live for mine.”
This bit from the story on the Gore effect and AGW is especially juicey!
AceInTX (Diary) Friday, December 19th at 1:41PM EST (link)The reality Mr.s Kalee is that the earth has shown a cooling not a warming trend for half a decade and the cooling is accelerating with the drop off of sun spot activity!
What’s it say about your certainty that you’re lot are currently in the act of changing the language to cover the egg on your faces and now calling it “Climate Change as opposed to Global Warming?!
Climate change is no laughing matter!
kyoufuu (Diary) Friday, December 19th at 1:48PM EST (link)If the ice caps melt, the future will look like the movie Waterworld. Do you really want a future world inhabited by Dennis Hopper and Kevin Costner? I should hope not!
Besides, all research has proven with 100% accuracy that there is no relationship between sunspots and climate. None whatsoever. So go look somewhere else. Don’t consider the solar minimum we could be in. It has nothing to do with the dangers of climate…
Saying that makes me feel dirty.
“There are more instances of the abridgment of the freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachments of those in power than by violent and sudden usurpations.” — James Madison
“I swear by my life, and my love of it, that I will never live for the sake of another man, nor ask another man to live for mine.”
I'll have to research it but there is a recent study
AceInTX (Diary) Friday, December 19th at 2:58PM EST (link)Sun Blamed For Warming Of Earth And Other Planets
Note the hysterics of the alarmists in this article to blow off the data and still stick by their funding goals by insisting Man is the cause of AGW…So…when did we put all those people on Mars and other planets that are causing them to warm?…maybe we should talk to the alien abduction crowd and see if there are long lost human civilizations on these planets causing the warming?
As for your polar Ice cap propaganda…what’s never included in the hysterics concerning the melting of the Arctic Ice cap is the corresponding growth of the Antarctic Ice cap…Ocean levels as I understand it have remained relatively constant as a result…
Of course the histeria of yesterday is never corrected tomorrow when the Arctic Ice cap grows back to it’s former size a year later!
Arctic Ice Grows 30% in a year
Arctic Ice Refuses To Melt As Ordered
There are even AGW scientists who are funded by AGW grants who are out there cautioning everyone that we are at the beginning of a 30 year cooling trend and going on with the canard that we shouldn’t be fooled by the cooling because the earth isn’t cooling as fast as it should without man made global warming! Mo doubt they see their cash cow about to dry up as people more and more come to realize this only thing that is man made about global warming is the data generated, and the fear mongering they are using to generate more research grants and keep themselves receiving a paycheck!
Protracted Cooling Could Mask Effects of Man Made Global Warming…
Say what?
Here is some more data to chew on
Global Cooling is Here
The only global warming I see happening is the hot air being spewed by Al Gore, the UN and the rest of the anti capitalist anti free market Socialist and Marxist left wing green weenies and their AGW alarmist friends in academia!
All that being said…I don’t think we’re anywhere near seeing Kevin Kostner grow gills and travel the flooded world on his catamaran!
The Emporer has no cloths
The spinmasters will make any aberration
kyoufuu (Diary) Friday, December 19th at 3:13PM EST (link)look like it’s due to global warming, climate change or whatever the phrase of the day is.
The simple fact is if you think about it reasonably, it makes no sense to say that global warming is being masked by global cooling. That’s like saying that my malnourishment is being masked by my obesity! Utter nonsense.
Of course, as junkscience always points out: environmentalism is a concern during periods of booming economies. In the waning period, it’s usually the first thing to go.
If businesses have a hard time staying open because of an economic downturn, it would be suicide to crush them with heavy taxes which show no discernable gain.
